It would be nice to have you right now beside me to fill the spaces between my fingers. But I know you are your own person and I cannot summon you any time I wish. So I’ll settle for thoughts of you and the uncertainty of when we’ll meet. And I’ll love you as the spaces between my fingers until you can fill them up again.

-D.D.
Tried something new again. :)
man hath placed
his ruinous hand
upon the planet's
finest attributes
no service to the
natural world
hath he imparted

he cuts down copious trees
in the Sarawak rainforests
he digs holes in the ground
all around the Gunnedah shire
he pollutes the atmosphere
over the Guangzhou province of China
he spills oil on the pristine coral reefs
in the Gulf of Mexico
and the list of his misdeeds
goes on and on...

man shall pay for the ruin
he hath wrought upon the planet
his unfeeling hand
touches every corner of the globe
a day of reckoning
isn't far away
all the beauteous assets
of our planet
shall be blown away

man is yet to realize
that he needs to preserve
the planet
for future generations
that are yet to come...

there is no other planet
for humanity to live on
and where will man go
when his hand hath ruined
the Earth's magnificent show

a message
sent out to all and sundry
a clarion call
reverberates around the planet
a mega phone
hear the Earth's alerting cry

man's hand
touches the planet
without a properly
conceived thought...
“I’ll see you later.” My Father said as they wheeled him off on the gurney.
“Good Luck, Pops.” my heart in my throat, as he went on his last journey.
He left us in that hot July, when the heat waves’ course had run.
I wandered in shock and disbelief like a world without a Sun.
For a long time after Pops had passed I struggled with depression.
Life went on for others; at least that was my impression.
Yet even in my darkest night I had my memories.
Sometimes, in the deepest sleep, Pops would return to me.
In his deep rich Irish Brogue he’d speak from beyond the vale.
My Memories of unconditional Love can never fade or pale.
To have been loved as we two loved; there is but one Love greater.
As I woke and rejoined the work-day world I whispered “I’ll see You Later.”
A slightly fictionalized account of the days surrounding my Father's death
made a fool in case,
jest in case the tide
turns i can't say
anything& it's slowly
eroding cliff faces. caught
run on to shiver under
swathes of light i
desert the anxious encompassing
my own grip on this spinning
confusion
and oh,
how light hangs about you in
motion i am too deep here i
am too gone the
desk lamp goes cold my own world follows
this chaos in breach
this pattern to fold
under
Your love is algebra
I can't find the formula
If I could find the right calculator,
I could define your euphoria.

Your love is geometry
I can't find the angles
If I could prove your theories,
It wouldn't be a shambles.

Your love is trigonometry
I can't figure it out
If I spent an entire notebook, perhaps
I'd still have doubts.

Your love is a mystery
Just as the greatest math
Although worth much,
Seems irrelevant to my path.
Lately, she sighs with the passing hour.
Time crawls by at a snail's pace,
and yet it is a whirlwind of activity.
She watches as the day passes her by
and her limbs move slowly
through the heavy fog of exhaustion.
Dark circles hang heavily,
shadowing her eyes from the world.
Her jagged nails are her only source of comfort
as her nervous habit of biting them has returned.
The world is cruel to the innocent,
and only ceases when
it has broken those who least deserve it.
In Fate's spiteful eyes, she is sufficiently broken.
