I heard a rumor that hope still lives somewhere inside you.

The night is a thrilling time in every sense of the word, and you are proud to be a child of this time.

I heard a rumor that you write by the light of the moon and the fluorescents of your bedroom.

Carpe noctum- seize the night. Latin. The flip side of the more commonly used “carpe diem”; in any case, a mantra.

I heard a rumor that you wish on stars for things that feel even further away.

I heard you have an exhausted but insomniac body that needs to be something’d to sleep.

I heard you want to create things, go someplace.

I heard a rumor that you will get there.
It might be a childish thing to do,
But I use all my 11:11 wishes on you.

❤️
And one day
I realised,
the grits hurting my feet
were not on the road,
but actually inside my shoes...
Those
who are close
hurt more

My 400th poems on hp....
you were my first cigarette
so fast you burned, and sweet,
and made the spinning in my head
and sped my heart's slow beat.

when the last of you i'd breathed
and you and i were done
there were burns all over me
and an aching in my lungs.
for david. too bad, huh?
I could never tell you
exactly what's going on inside my head,
so I'll write instead.
Drown my thoughts in paper & lead.
Keep my hands alive,
and my expression dead.
Maybe someday, I'll be in downtown New York, a coffee shop in the underground,

Where all the poets, artists and rejects of society can come together as one

Maybe I'll have learned that instrument I've always wanted to learn

I'll play an old song from long ago about life's sorrows and sadnesses

You might walk in and see me, long forgotten until now, a one time deal you never thought you'd find again

Maybe we'd make the connection that our pathes were once heavily intertwined as some paths do

Maybe you won't recognize me, but I'll recognize you
I didn't know what to title this, if anyone had a good idea, feel free to shoot me a email and I'll put it in and credit you. I also kind of hate how this turned out
