t's fall out here now.

-----------------------------

a haven it was once

now a mourning ground.

------------------------------

For you this year

wildflowers I leave

------------------------------

The sky under which I walk

the memories you left with me

all bear down on me

inside and out.

-----------------------------

I can hear you laughing.

the sound carries

through the cold air.

Serene and sure.

-------------------------------

Leaves crunch under my bare feet.

I can feel them.

They keep me here

Even when all other reason fails

------------------------------

I cannot walk into your tomb.

My feet refuse to move

an inch beyond that pretty wood.

So I stand at our door listening

to that soul trapped inside.

-----------------------------------

A warm voice crooning

some long forgotten song

a myriad of sounds and images

buried behind that door

--------------------------

The sky under which I walk

the memories you left with me

all bear down on me

inside and out.

Sam
I dreamt of you that summer night
Windows open ever so slight
We were together in a field of flowers
Your windswept hair dangling carelessly from the sides of your floppy, straw, hat
The warmth of the sun as radiant as your boundless smile

You took my hand, and paraded me through a pallette of petals
My clumsy boots stumbling with each step
In my stupor, I reached and plucked a flower
It was destined to be yours
The coppery-orange petals a perfect compliment to the hue of your hair
Both of us blushing as your lips met my cheek

It was a perfect dream
A testament to the time we shared
Ended by a morning sky, and a nostalgic cup of coffee
Staring vacantly at the blooming flowers in my overgrown-garden

The knowledge of days
beyond tomorrow.

The vision of nights,
graced by future moons.

The brief glimpse
behind the veil of sorrow.

The eternal unrest
due to a life gone too soon.

She was in limbo

uncertainty struck her heart

would he come tonight?

This morning
I touched
My primordial stardust
This evening
I capsized.
I helm a fickle craft
My blue poise belies
The leviathan's sudden rise.
Springtime rivulet
Monsoon burst
I wish I could flow
My glacier cold.
I stumble
From dawn to dust
Chasing fool's balm
That last becalm
Always, just off grasp.
In my nothingness and emptiness

I discovered my wholesomeness.
