Lets pretend,
we're still friends.

Lets pretend,
you don't avoid my eye.

Lets pretend,
When you saw me,
you didn't look to your left,
tease your hair
and stare behind you as I went passed.

Lets pretend
When you saw me doing work,
you didn't mutter 'fa**et' under your breath.

lets pretend,
when I asked where you were going,
you didn't hear me.

Lets pretend,
I don't see that look of denial
every time I speak

Lets pretend,
everything is fine.

Lets pretend
we're still friends

Dont leave me alone
in this scary lonely darkness
Because when im left alone
Thats when the monsters come out
Thats when the voices inside my head start yelling
But you'll never notice
I can fake a smile
I can act like im strong all alone
But really, im crying inside alone.

cheryl love
Kicking the rusty leaves
crumpled by the tree
seeds and twigs broken off
golden and free.
Polished conkers rest
waiting to be smashed
strung up with string
bruised, soaked and bashed.
Russet apples wither in the sun
pecked at by robins and wrens.
Purple clover gather in the distance
on the hills and glens.
Pears drip from branches
like water from a wooden tap.
Twigs point like a human finger
showing the way to follow a map.
Through the ochre wood and
across the sienna fields.
The gathered sticky corn
piled high that the farmer yields
The Autumn season is pure gold
Raspberry sunset and peach skies.
A woodpecker perches, waits awhile
In the Autumn air then off he flies.

punch-drunk
Ask each and every man, and many will say,
they've seen the light of gods to whom they pray,
But are the gods a projection of fears?
Or is my vision blurred by my own tears?
Minds will clash as our ideas collide,
But only in death does the truth reside,
I'll wait for the day when clouds clear from the sky above,
And men can swallow their pride and learn to love

we can't stop our hearts from beating,
our lungs from breathing, so why
try and stop our minds from thinking?
they can destroy us once they're
overclocked and overloaded,
over-simplifying complicated situations.
we still try to forget ourselves,
and how they're always there,
but it's inevitable, atomic,
how time moves us, but we cannot move time,
only by falsifying hands tracking
secondary measurements, little ticks
that eventually drive us mad.
not with anger, but with sadness,
time slips, and we slip with it
back to innocence, perseverance ensues,
and we soon see how time changes
without our hands in the clock.

you can take your hands off the gears now,
and keep the time set where it was,
and before you know it,
that too shall pass.
passing time without reason or rhyme.

I can’t quite put my finger on it,
Run my tongue across it,
Sink my teeth into it,
But you’re some sort of something else-
And I want to consume your every word
As it spills out of your mouth.
But to try to catch a single thought
Is something in itself.
