When the sun brings the light after dawn
Your hair billows in the yellow sunshine and pale clouds
The stars light up a yawning night hid by the moon
If your smile were not lovely, I would be led aswoon
You are the only light I see in my dreams
That arises like dulcet tones of a lark to day
And sets like the blue tide on the bay
Some love poetry.
Wile-some,
sick-sweet,
glass eyes and
fairy eye-teeth
peep from a
fictitious smile.

Floral scent,
lemon-twist,
silk grips and
tendrils quick
accompany your
enchanting grin.

Cast it away
fey creature, lest
it haze neural maze
and I slip-stumble
love-tumble
flip-furl-fumble
into your mystic-trick
will-o-wisp gaze.

wrote of your audacity,
a chronicle, a fable in lore,
whereupon your face was softened
for the Coventry poor.

Tyranny of taxation,
a sovereign's oppression,
one husband's aggravation,
and so he gave to you
but one condition.

After the butterflies,
before the sunlit emprise,
no mask to disguise,
not a thing to prevent
prying eyes.

Only your decree
could now protect your
ladyship's modesty,
keep your name from
this sordid tale of infamy,
yet, what did Tom see?

It shan't be denied, it rests
indelibly in Flowers of History,
alas! along cobbled streets,
all of them you defied,
thus with head held high,
you rode in all your glory.

You stand ready against all odds,
Holding true on fictitious front lines,
swearing the enemy is real

Much like the boy-
They all think you're crying wolf,
Searching for phantoms in normal faces

You can feel their ephemeral grasp,
make-believe fingers - tracing lines,
that make your hair stand up straight

Rock yourself to sleep,
Spear gripped tight in all-too-real hands,
They may not believe,
But your mind has seen,
Those unseen phantoms

there was pain
fear
in your bones
that which gnawed at you
in the
belly of the night
the lord
had to take you away.

This, once again, is that moment
Whence so many times before
my shadowed self, so cleverly disguised
sets fire to progress
Preferring to feed at the trough of repression
Than to unwind the painful nature of the past

Afraid to see myself,

unfiltered

In the unyielding light of the day

and instead, choosing to destroy lest I take honest inventory

Yet, this IS that moment, delightfully so
For somehow, by mere recognition
it is my shadow that is no longer disguised,

but instead,

laid bare

By the light of the day,

and I, struck by the contrast,
put down the match
and stand comfortably beside myself
ready to build a bridge, rather than
burn one down

Breeze

The warm hue of the setting sun
bathed her skin in amber.

As a defiant lock of her flowing hair
Braved the wind and danced across her cheek.

I smiled.

It was all I could do to not reach out and touch her face.
Never before had I yearned for something so simple.

To flow like the breeze.
