You are the stranger I wish to keep,
The one I see in my sleep.
The stranger I know so well,
I fell and now
I dwell.
My soul is back,
Returned from hell.
My heart...
It swells
I'm not sure if I should rebel...
Just some rhyming fun

I want you to text me I love you when we haven't talked all day
I want an I love you in the halls at random times
I crave the syllables that bounce out of your mouth when you call me 'your girl'
But I don't want
Ily, why bother is what you're saying I can't type the extra 7 characters
Well if you can't type those extra 7 characters maybe I can't text you anymore after all too many letters
I don't want
Love ya, what are we 5? Tell me you love me or say nothing it's not that hard
If you ever dare text me I (heart emoji) u, I will delete your number, i deserve more than an emoji and two 2 letters

I deserve paragraphs of you proclaiming your love for me or even a sentence asking to talk for a little bit

I don't deserve three letter texts but after all maybe you dont deserve these two letters

Snuggle
Cuddle
Skin to skin
Bone to none
Our clothes keep us apart
But I like it,
This comfortable nothingness we chalk up to
Is it bad I want more?

My room is neat nothing out of place...
But my bed has another tale to tell,
White pillows with dark smudges
Sheets and blankets in a twist
.
Our clothes mingle on the floor just as our breath did before.
An arm draped here, a leg there, my skin burns with the heat of yours.
Is this how it feels to hope?
I'm not sure if you woke up first and decide to stay
Or I am up Fisrt to start my day.
Good god help me

I've been waking up with smudges of makeup on my face,
Falling asleep in the middle of our conversations.
I don't think I'll hold out though
Hope is useless I've learned a bit in the past few years.
So I'll just do me and wakeup each day.

Your sister heard your laugh
The dog stared long into your room
The tree cast a shadow
that looked just like you

Pandora played your song,
out of sync with the station that was on

Your sheet music is on the top of the pile,
Inside the piano bench

My tea tastes sweet this morning.
Like there are two sugars instead of one,
The way you like it.

Yesterday, we visited.
We brought flowers and treats
Sang songs, told stories, and cried

Perhaps, today, it’s our turn
