I am falling
No
I am about to fall

There are instructions in my hand
something about landing safely
Something about floating
Not flying

I do not know who has decided this for me
There are tools in my hands
I am expected to build a kite in the freefall I think

Somone pushes me
If I land safely then she will love me
this is dream truth

I am a kite now
I let my string drag along the surface of the earth

Reel me in as I pass by
Or don't

I don't care
I can't fly
But I can't fall anymore either
It is 11 am. I am still drunk. This is a dream I had. I feel lost today.

this is a shout out to the kids who haven’t cracked a smile since last summer.
To the kids who’s wrists turned to cutting boards
and stomachs intentionally went empty.

This is the anthem for saturday nights spent on the couch just asking yourself “why”
For hours spent thinking that it’s your fault your parents split and theres nothing you can do.

For the kids who drag a blade across their wrist and carve grand canyons into their wrists although its still not the same.

A song for the kids who crack their knuckles as a distraction from the glares they get from across the classroom in fifth period science.

A harmony to the kids who are trying so hard to fit in but cant seem to get the hold of the right words to stick on their tongue so instead the wrong words slip out of their mouthes and roll into a ball of embarrassment.

A five star dinner served to his four friends which left him three years later and two years later he was just one kid by himself fending off the monsters we call classmates all alone.

Another sleeping pill for the boy who prays with his eyes shut but cant sleep because his eyes have already been closed for hours.

A brace for the broken and the weak as the week drags on to the point where every word that ends in the letter y makes you want to pull your hair out.

A poem dedicated to the kids who cant fend for themselves in the jungle.
Its a hard existence.
But we can make it through.

pick my brain and blame me
blame me

do not tell me anything
because i will overthink it
to the point where i think i took a breath at the wrong time

i am the worst nightmare
of every child who has parents that fight in front of them
i smell like campfire smoke and regret
dark basements with tiny bathrooms
full of regret

i am night
i am night
i am the past coming back to haunt you i am
broken fingernails and pulled hair and i am
searching
waiting
i am waiting for you to be alone so i can
pick your brains and i am
god i am god
i am god

I feel like a big man
in a straight jacket
who has just learned
despite all his strength
he'll never break the restraints

I'm not saying
you should ever give up

Just relax when you can
Don't fight so hard
You'll be free soon enough

It is  what loneliness feels like on late nights
and I find myself drunk texting poetry

I want to make your ears time capsules
for the things I have to say

Sometimes I settle for your phone

I want to wake up
in the morning
with a message from you

A picture of your smile
Your smile
Your stupid beautiful smile

It is all I ever really wanted anyway

I smelled you before I saw you,
A manly scent that could make any girl turn.
I saw you.
Dressed to perfection.
Frame of a god.
Oh, but your eyes,
Cold.
A chill made its way down my spine as you smiled
I saw in that smile,
In those eyes,
Thousands of broken hearts.
I knew at that moment,
That I was looking at the devil himself.
They say life is beautiful,
Not lately, not today.
Because when I get to school,
Its no longer a shock
To see the flag low and blue
About another loss.

We've desensitized ourselves ,
Death no longer bothers us,
Unless it affects us.
We ignore the starving,
Unless we can get praise.
The Mass of Humans,
Are no longer good,
No longer beautiful,
No longer human...
