Sometimes with the Heart
Seldom with the Soul
Scarcer once with the Might
Few—love at all.

they called me naive
for being kind
wishing people
to always be fine
giving my heart out
to those
who burn me out

they called me dreamer
for wishing
of my own lover
a home to come back to
when i have nowhere to go to

but darling
i call myself a star-gazer
with mind full of dreams
and a heart full of hopes

here
take both of my hands
hop onto another land
grant my only wish
for i am a believer
that you and i
are both good together

It's been passed down
from Eros & Psyche
that the ideal lover is
one whom we never
see despite knowing
their skin's every inch

we are a mass of sun-fearing people
bowing as she bows,
rising as she rises, dancing as she
makes her way across the sky.
our earth turns to bask in more of her
and speaks in hushed voices as she sleeps.
let there be light: and there she was,
just like that, the source
of all that glimmers,
the source of all that burns.

Uma natarajan
Amidst half chopped vegetables
Standing little unstable
Holding a rag clenched in hands
Cleansing and cooking together
Adjusting my hair band altogether
Tucking my inspirations
Combining aspirations
Wasting convolutions of ideas
To type poems in the media
Hands searching keyboard
But forgetting keyword
Like clothes hanging loose in the cupboard
Grappling string of words hang in the Mind's black board
Net result appears on the website online
Something terrific and deadly streamlined

Little Bird
We gazed upon the sea of stars
Truth be told I have never seen constellations
These figures that everyone else can see
Made up of simple lines that create a story
I don't see it
Oh but you do
You say there's billions upon billions of stars in the sky
You claim that for each star you can cite a reason why you love...
I choke on my own hope and love
Her

Now I have billions upon billions of reasons why you don't love me
