Awakens the senses....

Captivates the eye with a unique flair, like a skilled artist on the stage-a great dancer, a supreme actor, an athletic acrobat, an experienced musician, an engaging orator, a gifted singer, a heavenly choir
Entices the nose to imagine the hint of various scents, soothing or disturbing, and often blends different aromas into peculiarity
Touches the heart, mind, soul and skin--when it is spot on, perhaps with shivers, or perhaps with warmth
Teases the tongue to taste the words, salty, sour or sweet, vaguely satisfying, sometimes mystifying
Pounds on the eardrum to listen to its beat, at times, offbeat, at times, in perfect rhythm
A best friend is someone you tell secrets to, right?
But what if it were the same person to hold you at night?
As the sun goes down and the stars appear,
It's that someone whom you tell your biggest fear.

Your dearly beloved, whether a guy or a girl
Suddenly becomes your whole world,
And you laugh and you sing and you dance all around,
As your best friend twirls you round and round

And in the truth of the morning, everything is okay
You see that your beloved is here to stay.
Holding you tightly and never letting go
All during the disappearance of the moonlight glow.

And it is them you want to spend the rest of your life
Alongside them, your dear husband or wife.
And 70 years after you said "I do"
You manage to say one last "I love you"

Then you'll drift away to a heavenly sleep
With the one who you love so deep.
And eternal time you will spend together
With your dearly beloved, always and forever.
If only you knew the person I want to call mine.
If only you knew how amazing they truly are.
Now only if they realized how they make me smile.

Their eyes that capture my heart with just a single glance
Their touch that can make me feel safe and comforted
Their voice that makes me smile just to hear

If only they knew themselves like I do
If only they knew I don't only love their perfections,
But also their imperfections.

I love that quirky smile
I love that awkward laugh when they hear an awesome joke
I love their shyness at times

If I could only find the words I would write them all down
but nothing can describe everything good about them. I just wish they knew I loved these things.

All you need to do to find this person is simple. Look in the mirror For the one I speak of Is nobody but you

My head’s in my hands
As I cry out for you
I really wonder this time
If I will make it through

Broken and cold,
Sad and made of stone
My heart is still with you
Even though I’m alone

Begging to escape
From deep inside of me
Is the broken little child
That you are about to set free

If I let that child out
Who knows what it will do
It’s been caged for so long
Its brain is all askew

This child of mine
Isn’t like most
It’s not carefree
Its spirit is very morose

This child of mine is shackled
Yearning to break loose
To wreak havoc on my life
And try to reverse the abuse

So say I let it out
How will it stop it
From releasing years of emotions
That before, I could never admit?

Well out comes this child of mine
It’s finally free
Just make sure you help
To save me from me.
And here face down beneath the sun
And here upon earth’s noonward height
To feel the always coming on
The always rising of the night

To feel creep up the curving east
The earthy chill of dusk and slow
Upon those under lands the vast
And ever climbing shadow grow

And strange at Ecbatan the trees
Take leaf by leaf the evening strange
The flooding dark about their knees
The mountains over Persia change

And now at Kermanshah the gate
Dark empty and the withered grass
And through the twilight now the late
Few travelers in the westward pass

And Baghdad darken and the bridge
Across the silent river gone
And through Arabia the edge
Of evening widen and steal on

And deepen on Palmyra’s street
The wheel rut in the ruined stone
And Lebanon fade out and Crete
High through the clouds and overblown

And over Sicily the air
Still flashing with the landward gulls
And loom and slowly disappear
The sails above the shadowy hulls

And Spain go under the the shore
Of Africa the gilded sand
And evening vanish and no more
The low pale light across that land

Nor now the long light on the sea

And here face downward in the sun
To feel how swift how secretly
The shadow of the night comes on…

Chuck
He's the Raven that's anything but dark
Not mysterious or melancholy
Repetitious yes, but not a negative "nevermore"
Always a positive and encouraging word
Never met a poem he didn't love
Less black, more white, like a dove

The Avenger from Oklahoma

she was a doll faced little lady
looking so demure looking so sweet
she would bat her eyes and smile
and then knock you off your feet

you see she was the avenger
looking for men who had done wrong
she carried a snub-nosed 38
and she would blow you away for a song

seems her sister had been slighted
left all alone and broken hearted
threw herself out of the window
and Annie finished what she started

she found the ******* who slighted her sis
made him fall for her with her magic lips
she shot him in his own bedroom
and walked away swinging her hips

but that wasn't the end of her journey
she decided revenge her life's passion
making heart breakers pay the price
working as a model in design and fashion

she would lure in all the playboys
make them melt with her charms
and just when they were ready to cash in
she'd put a bullet in each of his arms

she would disappear into the night
keeping the cops off her trail
her legend went on for over 20 years
most swearing it was just a fantasy tale
