While you waited for the future you forgot about today
And the sand kept on pouring.
And time slipped away.
Oh, the somber wind blows
the ice and the snow.
It’s a different kind of cold
that chills to the bones.
Bringing self doubt to what we think we know,
when all we want to do is just go home.
But when the world says no
you’re left with nowhere to go.
Lost and alone,
the somber wind blows.
I just wanted to try to write something with the same rhyme all the way through and this is what I came up with. I'm not terribly pleased with it but I thought I'd share anyway.

Grains in miniscule multitude
Falling from my fist
I impersonate

if you seek for love you won't find it
if you seek for happiness you won't find it
if you seek for perfection you won't find it
if you don't seek for love you are going to be loved
if you don't seek for happiness joy will find you
if you don't seek for happiness life will surprise you
Wait and see for a better day

Hug
Have you ever felt
A compelling urge
To hug somebody?
To just wrap your arms around them
And never let go?
You just want to drop everything
And hug that person,
Touch them,
Embrace them.
You just want to be near them.
Forever.
No talking.
Just hugging.
Because you seem to say more,
Have deeper discussions,
When you’re in each other’s arms
Then when conversing aloud.

That’s the kind of bond
I want to have with someone
Some day.
Because the simplest of things
Speak louder
Than any words
Ever will.

Inside the center of her
"Now" I find my yesterself.
Blushing juvenile
Torn between nervous
And not.

W. H. Auden
Dear, though the night is gone,
Its dream still haunts today,
That brought us to a room
Cavernous, lofty as
A railway terminus,
And crowded in that gloom
Were beds, and we in one
In a far corner lay.

Our whisper woke no clocks,
We kissed and I was glad
At everything you did,
Indifferent to those
Who sat with hostile eyes
In pairs on every bed,
Arms round each other's neck,
Inert and vaguely sad.

O but what worm of guilt
Or what malignant doubt
Am I the victim of,
That you then, unabashed,
Did what I never wished,
Confessed another love;
And I, submissive, felt
Unwanted and went out?
Your clothes, hair, shoes,
That is what others
say makes you beautiful.
They were wrong,
You are beautiful
No matter what.
You are you
