Endless blue everywhere
below and above
a consuming blueness
Perhaps a preview of eternity

Gidgette
Everybody loves a daisy
Yellow centered, white petaled daisies
We do the "they love me, they love me not" thing with them
We draw them
Give them as gifts to people we love
But have you ever smelled one?
They stink
As a matter of fact,
They smell, to me, like dog ****
But we love the stinking things anyway
We pick them off the side of the roads where I'm from
They grow everywhere here
In great, beautiful, dog **** smelling, droves
They remind me of people
Because we love things
Even though they may stink
'Twould do any young person well to step into the muddy boots of a farmer for a spell . *** a field the whole day through , milk an ornery goat , pick a row of okra or two ..
Clean a hog pen , run the dogs at the crack of Dawn , build baskets and set tomato plants in the hot Georgia Sun ..
Pick your meal in the morning and eat it at dinner , cut firewood in the dead of Winter . It would most assuredly do a teenager well , yes it would

North Carolina poet, Jim Wayne Miller, on his goal in writing poetry. "Growing up in North Carolina, I was often amused, along with other natives, at tourists who fished the trout streams. The pools, so perfectly clear, had a deceptive depth. Fishermen unacquainted with them were forever stepping into what they thought was knee-deep water and going in up to their waists or even their armpits, sometimes being floated right off their feet. I try to make poems like those pools, so simple and clear their depth is deceiving. I want the writing to be so transparent that the reader forgets he is reading and is aware only that he is having an experience. He is suddenly plunged deeper than he expected and comes up shivering."

Bath bomb You
Erupted
In my bath tonight
Like a volcano...

I enjoyed watching you
As you
Bubbled away.

You ignited
With so much sweetness
And scent... floral essence!

The
Petals within
Floated
To the surface
Like a Garland
Toward the shore.

Bath bomb
You gave me the universe
And more
You
Bath bomb
I adore.

SPLASH!
