Jolly brings a smile to the crowd
Circus life is what it's all about
As children laugh out loud in their play
Case in point it's another Jolly day

A world of smiles is Jolly's goal in life
If you smile once he'll try his best at twice
Down in the dumps you should be circus bound
There to lift you up is Jolly the Circus Clown

But when the laughter dies and the smiles all end
Jolly sits in front of his T.V. in his darkened den
Eating wrapped up tin plate dinners all alone
Jolly is not jolly when Jolly's at home

He's been doing this for quite awhile
It's a shame that Jolly can't make his own self smile...

eastern seas and trembling hands
do not take me yet
for the winds of these sails
have yet to become filled
with the salted tears
of turquoise valor
let this ship wander
the vastness of the open waters
and land alike
for the shores of distant territories
are carried upon the breath of the ocean
as if the ancient voices of seductive sirens
were calling me forth
their enchanting song
an enticing peril
that i dare not follow
my wary crew
i bid adieu
upon a wooden raft
sink not your anchor
for i remain an explorer
of the forgotten ways
(Inspired by and dedicated to John Edward Smallshaw, and his "Spice")

I am a summer-man,
Because I'm blessed to sit by the sea.
Let it and the other two Musketeers,
boon companions to me,
Sun and Wind,
erase my discomposure as I
reside in the Poet's Nookery.
Let them have almost
all that troubles,
but not all.

I am a summer-man.

On the bay, on the beach,
I see birth, I see death,
osprey nests, carcasses of
mussels and horseshoe *****.
This, somehow reassuring,
the cycles,
this circularity,
the tides and inevitability.

I am a summer-man.

Student of languages seasonal,
Peaches, plums, cherries, poetry
and loving Woman.^
This, the  summer alphabet-soup
of my multiple tongues.

I am a summer-man.

Sancerre and Pinot Gris, super cold,
Paul Simon, Nina Simone,
with proper aging,
getting  hotter,
Salsa and Afrikaner hints,
super louder,
Even "Still Crazy After All These Years,"
that-who-wud-be-me,
chills outer.^^

I am a summer-man.

When ever this lad's writes appear,
it proves once again,
there is no truth that his
name was once Dr. Seuss
In a prior life, even if
each is signed by
Ogdiddy Nash

I am a summer-man.

Disrespectful of the calendar,
if I can, try to make
summer season stretch-marks from
May to October.

I would add April,
but the IRS is already
****** at me.^^^

Though the cherry blossoms of May
now gone away,
the lilies of June
arrive, but but for a week or two,
soon, like my mom, withered away.

Acorns in August^^^^ have arrived too swiftly.

This summer, beloved,
and love of summer,
deep-rooted.

Season of my Peter Pan Poetry Galore Festival.

A love,  incapable, impossible, of ever
growing old, ever growing cold,
it cannot wither.
It is summer heat reminders exposed,
how it misses its man,
that hide in the flames of
the teasing, popping, reminding
Winter fireplace's crackling popping

April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain;
May, she will stay,
Resting in my arms again

June, she´ll change her tune,
In restless walks she´ll prowl the night;
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight.

August, die she must,
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold;
September I´ll remember.
A love once new has now grown old

Tonya Maria  I am a summer-woman,
Because I'm blessed to sit by the sea.
I too display the summer season stretch marks.....
The sea, my lover, owns every inch of me......
"Sydney," Said The Little Boy,
"Why Do You Smile So Much?"

"I Don't Know, Ryan," I Replied,
"Is It Weird?"

He Tipped His Head Side To Side,
"A Little," He Grinned

I Watched A Leaf Float Slowly To The Ground,
A Sure Sign Of Fall Arriving,
"Maybe Its Just Because I'm Really Happy"

My Heart Broke A Little Then,
Because It Hurt So Much To Lie
Mother Earth's Skin Oozed Between My Toes,
As I Listened To The Trees Whisper To Me,
"It's Okay, Just Let Go"
The Heat Of The Day Warmed Me To My Core,
Beads Of Perspiration Collected On My Forehead,
As My Burning Feet Cooled In The River,
The Songbirds Whistled A Soothing Tune,
"It's Okay, Just Let Go"
As My Body Sunk To The Ground,
And Became One With Our Mother,
The River Swirled Around My Feet,
Singing As It Lapped Upon My Skin,
"It's Okay, Just Let Go"
And With That, I Did
Feeling Recharged After My Walk :)
Since You're Alive..

Why Is It That You Haunt Me?

L... Why Is It I Can't Get Away From You? You've Touched Too Many Aspects Of My Life.
Dont Slip

When you find that someone special
You want to hold them really tight
You dont want them to slip away
And be missing from your life

You hope they see inside of you
Know the feelings that you have
So that they can truly understand
And send those feelings back

You want to show them kindness
Whats inside the inner you
Wrap your arms around them
And hold them close to you

You can show them that they're special
But you should not hold to tight
You must trust that they wont slip away
You wont loose them from your life

When you freely give your love to them
Their love can freely be returned
They can choose to show you how they feel
And not worry or be concerned

If in fear you hold to tight
Love will slip away to soon
But if your love is built on trust
Then that love you share is true

Carl Joseph Roberts
The Golden Rule

When someone shows a weakness
That's when you know to pounce
Take from them what they have
No worries for someone else

If you don't take it, someone will
That's what you tell yourself
In order to move ahead in life
You must leave your feelings out

Pull the trigger and smile at them
Look straight into their eyes
Tell them that there is no risk
Don't worry that it's a lie

If they loose it all, well you got yours
So just do what you must do
It's not your fault that they're not smart
Or that they put their trust in you

It seems so easy to take from them
But you're really taking from yourself
There may come a time when you're in need
And the cat becomes the mouse

Just Give them what they need the most
And dont take what is not yours
Do what's right, like your mother said
And you will get that big reward

Offer to help if they're in need
And lend them a hand or two
For what you do unto others you will see
Others will do unto you
