I look,
for some sort of protection,
but find nothing close to it,
behind your eyes,

I look closer,
deeper,
hoping to pull what I need,
out of you,

but I can't even find a bit,
or a piece,
of what I truly need,
what I want,

from you,
to me,
to the wall,
and the in between,

nothing we do,
makes sense to me,
and the trust is breaking,
it will get lost before it has begun.
My friends abroad think I'm peculiarly English
My English friends think I'm peculiarly northern
My northern friends just think I'm peculiar
But at least I've got friends

                                                     By Phil Roberts
I have read so many wonderful poems,
haiku's, 10 words, so many more, and none are alike!
But we tend to forget about spoken word poems,
Hello Poetry, can you make it possible to share our spoken words as well as our massive pile on's of endless poetry. Spoken Words would add to the sight, and only make it better.
I wish I could also Use Hellopoetry on my mobile phone, in an app,
I'm not sure about anyone else, but that would maybe add to HP

Please consider what I've had to say, c:
Please send repost like and share and comment anything else you think the sight needs since it's growing in great ways. Please share and like if you agree c:
i read a book yesterday
cover to cover in just
a few hours

the first book
i have been able
to finish
in over a year

i cried a little
when i was done
for the character
and her family
for me

i recognized something
in her
and now my head
is reeling

trying to make sense of damage
and repair
and the language
of it all
My small hut of dreams
surviving all alone atop of hill
covered all around with huge deodar trees
of muddy wall and slanting roof sill

Ginger and cardamom tea
near the orange fire place
reading journals
I will live , capturing the first snow in days

freshly baked potato in oven clay
sprinkled rock salt with melted cheese
fragrant leaves of corainder
lingers on and stays

sweet and sour taste of wine
from the close by farm of grapes
friends and family gather everynight
over dinner and United prays

bells echoing mystery in the air
far from the temples on a difficult mountain
where path to heavens looks reachable
trekking the rocks in sun and in rain

Desirous of a long continuance
If there is no good beginning
What will be in the end?
Pulling out hair
And punching walls
And picturing the worst
The jaws of hell to swallow us all

Isn't it something?
Knowing each step brings us closer
To being further apart
Breaking of chairs
Windows, lamps, oaths
Promises that would never be kept
The darkness to swallow us all

Each step brought it closer
Until it was closed
The chapter the last one in the book

A book I can't read again

First day of the week.
Glad we could meet.
A new day.
A new beginning.
Another chance
to go out and learning.
Exploring and searching.
Meet new people and sharing.
Take time for reading.
Believing and recieving.
Your words make
my day so appealing.
Like a soft summer breeze
on my skin so soothing.
Hope you are smiling
while reading my writing.
A bubble appears
Small and smooth
Symmetrical
Transparent
Hued in pink and blue
Harmless
Our instinct is to pop
Amused by its bursting
Why?
It will explode as it lands softly to the ground.
Why not let it be?
Admire it's beauty
Floating in purity.
Clear and delicate
A free spirit
Until it hits the ground
Pop!
It vanishes

I was taking a shower one morning, and saw this bubble floating. My initial instinct was to pop it, then realized... Why?
I pondered about cruelty, wars, destroying nature,  and how our human instinct to destroy still exist. But why?  Haven't we evolved from our hunter and gatherer days... Or have we?
lustful bow tenses
war of lust or lust of war
mankind is groping
This is my first conscious attempt at a senryu after being inspired by several skilled writers on HP! I researched the format - it must be 5-7-5, 17 syllables, dark humor with a punch line at mankind! :) Always appreciate the feedback to improve.
