One need only look to the four winds
to find four frowns;
eight sad eyes
straining to see
through stained glass tears.

The gas station attendant

I could feel the tension
I could feel he no longer wanted me
I knew when he looked at me and his eyes were looking through glass

It sounded flat and so my heart became brittle

and everyone i love gets a piece of me stretching me smaller and smaller until my love is wisps and dont have enough to knit myself a sock let alone a sweater but everyone in my life is warm and cozy swaddled in a mess of my knitted love
