Inside the longing as deep shadows dance
Lost in the passion of you
Offering songs in the key of romance
Violins sing right on cue
Endless this rhythm of love on display
Yearnings melodically free

"Float to me"

“Float to me”

Changing directions
In a forestalled motion,
balanced on the side of truth while practicing losing my step
in the rushing waters of life…
I slip

Clinging to a lone branch
I find it blocking the sky, pulling shadows from mist
and teetering on the edge of someone’s sacred sanity

My eyes,
stern and fashioned of blinded occurrences that swallow
the light of day and the masks of sympathetic stares,
focus

For in the distance,
tapestries woven of heartbeats glisten on the ripples of a naked moon beam,
motioning to me in pleasing movements a’ dance on its reflections

Passionately in syncopated volumes she whispers,
louder than the hope now swirling in the rising swells
and broken slivers of drastic wastelands which
sit vacant in my mind

“Float to me”,

I hear as the cool waters so elegantly gather about her perfect feet
Her toes grip the rocky floor in such beauty that I fall helplessly,
allowing nature’s crest to take me, singing me sweetly to this pristine dream

Disbelief churns in fountains of doubt fed wishes and desires
as I submerge in the beauty that is her
Engulfed by white capped rapids beating faster…only my heart
She, with silken fingers plucks me from the surf,
her fragrance, lilac and magnolia, intoxicate me

We stand, shades of the deep sky and starlight beacons illume her face
As fireflies play in the trees and
our lips meet, my pulse floods with fever

Her desperate thoughts invade my elated mind and I agree
Together we plunge to the depths of forever and I slowly drown in her love

I’ve taken from this endless dream
a sight for sore and weary eyes
When clouds of morning frown of dark
and winds howl in serenades for dancing leaves

Still...life exists in rotted stumps and fallen branches
on fence lines overgrown with time
As weather changes in the east,
where through thick drapes eyes peer

White on white and foot step designs scatter,
erratic as the snow flake waltzes…
Another day, filled with desires beyond the pane
where fingers have etched a heart… breath exposes

And moisture runs downward, streaking glass
into cupped hands that long the taste
of life far removed from this frozen nightmare
and I offer my endless dream to you…to share

Along the lines of fantasy
with crystal glasses flowing the brim
Soft hands meet on white linen,
your eyes take me places I have never known

Silence tingles as our hearts speak
across candle flame and glittered dreams
Such is the beauty of this night
neither belong, yet here we are

Fears generate passion
on this perfect evening so young,
and our love forbidden, taboo
but breathing of temptation

Lips ignite a fire within,
looking over shoulders for whoever
only finding desires calling
in the mist of the crowded city

Scented bliss finds me,
arms reach for a touch, long hot touch
behind closed doors
holding back all but the guilt

Still a fever burns as skin blushes
beneath moon lit intoxication
Silhouettes merge, moist in cravings
lone of simpler moments

Fingers dance and sighs sing,
satin sheets spill to unsuspecting floors
when deep in the throws is found,
words have no meaning

Whispers lose their bearing
as oceans part and white foam pleasure
caresses the smooth shore
on this uncharted island called love

Startled by the waiter refilling my glass
I still see you across the room
lingering in his smile, lost in his destiny
*and here I sit, still wishing it were me

Jack Aug 2014
Found on the edge of desire
Facing the answers unknown
Desperate to stand in the fire
No longer living alone

Crying for deeds left a’ waiting
Rolling these thoughts in my mind
Oh of this love now creating
Searching for all I can find

Hopeless a word with no meaning
Not that my heart will allow
Some they may whisper I'm dreaming
None that can prove to me how

Real is the state of this vision
Nothing but truth stands so tall
Into her charms now my mission
Making such sense of it all

Reaching so I am not missing
Now as my knees touch the ground
Lips that I wish I was kissing
Perfect this woman I’ve found

Distance, the longest of dances
I follow the moon high above
Capturing all of my chances
So I may feel her sweet love

Finished - for Paula
Jack May 2014
I stood at the crossroads, staring at
directions collected to confuse me
Seeking a shadow that was not my own
Finding street signs pointing past my dreams,
where my new life might lead
and with closed eyes I moved forward

Heard the *** holes laughing
Paused for a passing thought
Felt the sun on my shoulders
Sang a song in my mind without words

Then walked towards the future (let the potholes laugh)
My head held high…one step at a time

Alone…I think not,
as faces appear on the horizon, and they are smiling,
waving me on…challenging me to the tape
Reminding me that the finish line…
is just the beginning
Dedicated to my good friend Paula Lee.

Silent Sentence

Silent sentence

The silence is deafening
pounding this cartoon anvil
lodged somewhere in my head
echoing through empty chambers

A loud dose of nothing
calls to me in voiced undertones
resonating with the volume
of butterfly wings pinned to a board

My clouded eyes look,
hoping my ears are mistaken
wishing for only a sound
vibrating in this vast glass hallway

Wave lengths in shorter shadows
collect on mesh grilles
protecting weathered speakers
cracked and taped…yellowed

Tiny dots felt of faulting fingers
braile’d emotions screaming
along a page of discomfort…blistering,
dog eared for no reason at all

Stillness…that is all…stillness
no wind, no color, no movement,
as I wait for this that shall not come
alone…perhaps unheard by others

This it seems shall be my existence,
written in quiet ink…invisible to most
no lemon juice tricks this time
as I serve my sentence…in silence

Running in the shadows,
pausing neath the dawn
Climbing in through window sills,
curtains tightly drawn

Checking every corner,
ducking from the light
Hoping for a moment still,
shuttered in the night

Of this love forbidden,
cast of breathless view
Empty pockets, endless need
searching but for you

Can’t you hear me calling,
pebbles hit the glass
Pull me deep into your arms
‘fore the moonbeams pass

Take me as I’m pleading,
knees upon the ground
Staring to your silhouette,
formed of beauty found

Many questions linger,
falling from above
Landing square with weighted pain
saved of all my love

Take a chance, I offer,
let me light the scene
Follow where your heart does lead
here inside this dream

Matters of the distance
collected in the frame
Take my hand it longs for you,
love me once again

me...in a poetic nutshell
Jack Sep 2014
~

Marching in the parade of fools
Trumpets blare and leading the pack
Nothing more than a dreamer, dreaming
Looking for the next day
The next step in this life
That sometimes seems worth it
And sometimes doesn’t

Feeling the pain of every saddened heart
Taking the weight upon my shoulders
Wishing to bring peace
Though often told I can’t know this pain
That I fit this parade perfectly
No one wants my help
But still I offer a hand

A deep lover of love…a believer that is comes
Waiting with a fragile heart
Too much understanding for my own good
Some one who can see but often wishes he couldn’t
A sponge, learning, absorbing, wanting
A white knight often with a tarnished shield

Unhappy with what I am, not who I am
Concerned about what I will become
But never fearing of death
That is another parade I know I will participate in
Tossing confetti in hopes
I am remembered, one way or the other
Nothing much...nothing more than

me…in a poetic nutshell

I dream, I do
Jack May 2014
~

I dream, I do
My mind, though of past returns,
pictures life as it could be…
only in a dream?

“Would she look at me if she knew?”

Fantasies painted on textured walls,
curves where straight lines have lived
Brush strokes of trembling fingers,
fearing that it could be…perhaps

Then the picture comes into view
like an open curtain to Eden
Fruited and vibrant in luscious folds,
beneath an arbor of frantic delight

Sunlight blinks as beauty beckons
from across fields and valleys
Overgrown of tall grasses and imagination
Flowing on a soft summer breeze

“Paintings now live in the minds of those who dream”

Wide is the canvas which sits
like an oasis for the eyes,
a spring for quenching thirst, food of wide-eyed wishes
now fading into the shadows of…impossible

For this that I see has taken my heart
sent it off to dance in nervous steps
across a floor on satin sheen
and sawdust scratches…slipping away

A poster on the wall announces the opening act
coming soon, live and in person…I stand
a wreck, a shivering mass of never,
melting slowly into the audience of hidden backgrounds

“Would she look at me if she knew?”

I dream, I do
My mind, though of past returns,
pictures life as it could be,
only in a dream…

Taken to the shadows, amass the gathered fall
Dreams of darkened hours sing
fresh in every mindset, placing avenues in the past

Brick and mortar tendencies
build a fortress around your heart,
as every nightfall wisdom
or sound against the rail, echoes in trust

Footprints in the mud…forward and back again
Never once a closed eye, an unclenched fist,
as I, the lone silhouette against your stained glass fears
stand firmly at the gate of brass and forged steel,
tarnished by weather but steady as devotion,
protecting you from the deepest of harm

Seeking nothing…not an ounce of peace,
for this role is now my destiny, my soul surrender
to a heart that beats within my own existence
in melodic undertones of poetic truths

And I gaze upon the Autumn moon, shining its light
upon your beauty, which I have come to long
in visions of my own shortcomings…alone

Dark shadows hug the ceiling
Like so many helium balloons
Carelessly released by a child
Reaching for the next best thing

Cascading in monochrome misery

Staring above at my timely demise
Finally coming to the realization

Slowly Dying (Fallen Ashes)
Jack Apr 2014
Within these flames of amber cast,
now ashes fallen to the silent floor
of love…past, emotions felt, pleaded…denied
On stark white parchment folded many times
along the wings of a butterfly,
rounded tips in vibrant paint,
softened as tear drops dampen the edges

Words scattered of truth and affection,
standard font…nothing fancy
Thoughts of a poet’s wanderings along a path,
winding indeed, but leading to his desire
or so he thought…when darkness called
and days became night shades,
cloaking his dreams in a hazy mist

Reaching for that elusive heart,
sent halfway across the country…hoping
the meaning would touch you…show you
what is left inside, pouring of regret,
still brimming with that longing
which brought life to this poet’s pen…this man,
who now slowly dies

Sick, sick world

When pain is the wielded tool,
fear the bandage…
wounds heal never…never
Scarred existence, buried in dark confines
cracks in the frame, a thin hopeless terror
Splintered nightmares pierce,
streets aren’t to be paved in souls…are they?

Hatred blooms in thorned gardens of poisonous vines
Blind eyes seek misdemeanor violations,
powered wigs white as frail skin
slam gavels on chalkboard slander
and drink their toast, burned in tea…burned
Burn in hell…burn,
singed of your own disgusting disguise

It is a sick, sick world,
spinning for some, leering at others
Claiming lives like junk yard fenders,
rotting in weathered worries,
cut and welded into another’s idea of life,
painted pretty colors, enameled disgrace
that sicken the stomach…shatters my heart

And still a star shines, fractured but glowing
shedding light to textured canvas
Inspiring beauty in another’s ink
crying watercolor tears in brushstroke wonder
shading edges so the past sleeps in it’s own nightmare
pieced together by friendship,
so tell me…why does my heart still break?

~Silver Thread'd Divertimento ~

Watching a swaying Chinese lantern
in colors the shade of your smile
Paper laced dreams in curvature shapes…
suspended silver threads…

Ripples of koi pond whispers
slowly beckon in moonlit gestures,
as we sit counting fireflies,
hypnotized by our beating hearts

Cascades serenade,
enchanting the evening divertimento
Lotus blossom fingertips softly
caress parted lips…smooth

As I drink of your fragrance,
tasting the flavors, your moistened touch
simmering upon each breath…
warm, offering a honey’d embrace

Gazing longingly upon porcelain skin,
tempting star shine glow…
we melt as one, mouths entwined
drenched in serenity

while deep within our silence we speak,
not of voice…but of love

I’ve lifted the mask of the blind man now seeing
Pulled on the feathers of long disbelief
Sang in a chorus of tinsel town preachers
Cried on the steps running sadness and grief

Fortunes now hang from the branch at eleven
Filling the fist of a fighter at ease
Using a voice that will tell us no reason
Wandering off if you happen to please

Drink from the fountain of youth in the city
Run down the street shouting heaven is near
Fueling the feast as your system is dreaming
Laughing your hardest while facing your fear

Stuffing your pockets with brand new adventures
Settling down on the porch in the swing
Floating so gently my arms now around you
In my desires the storm it shall bring

Words now concocted to alter their meaning
So you may peer in my heart up above
Verses now sent from the edge of tomorrow
Only to whisper forever my love

Clinging to hope that your soul it is knowing
All that I am shall be yours now to keep
Juggling forth and now back my decision
All on a course but to find some relief

Affection's Aftermath
Jack Sep 2014
Broken thoughts invade my mind
Atop an asphalt parking lot
In phrases I've since left behind
A few of them so long forgot

Still in between this yellow stripe
Where tired treads have left their mark
And apricots have tasted ripe
I stand here thinking in the dark

What comes of this in future days
When time has gone and love appears
Two hearts collide in full display
And happiness deletes the fears

If sunny skies are all we see
Beyond the edge of weathered fence
Will you now stroll along with me
Regardless of a past offence

Then come, let's run this narrow path
Your hand in mine, no time to wait
And live affection's aftermath
Before the time does get too late

Cascading down the mountainside
The crystal waters free
Flowing forth to quench this thirst
So deep inside of me

In perfect stance I hear the rush
A shimmer faithful glow
To hear the splash of all that’s good
Now falling down below

So white of foam and ripples pure
I wade in splendor mist
In natures wondrous bounty true
This peaceful daylight tryst

The waters cool upon my skin
A midday sun does shine
In shadows cast of dancing limbs
Of daydreams I do climb

Naked in this hidden place
Among the shining stone
I hear the mountain waters rush
And feel I’m not alone

The faintest whisper calls to me
My name I soon do hear
As now the girl with chocolate hair
Before my eyes appears

With nothing but a robe of white
She smiles tenderly
One foot she places in the pond
My waiting eyes do see

Her robe now lying on the ground
The beauty of her skin
Her silhouette against the sun
I beckon her come in

She loves the feel the water brings
It starts her mind a flow
Out here among the vibrant green
In natures perfect show

In silent swim without a sound
Upon the surface glide
Until she finds her way to me
Now right here by my side

Her lips so full and red like wine
A hint of amethyst
I stare her deeply in the eyes
And then a tender kiss

My arms they reach to hold her tight
So close I need her near
To feel the beating of her heart
Within the waters clear

So quietly we listen to
The sounds the forest brings
Flowing winds and waterfalls
And birds about who sing

Here in our mountain paradise
With skies so clear above
We share these moments that we live
Within each other's love

Jack Oct 2014
~~~~
Wept this dream, my thoughts they fill
Take me from this weary place
Where darkness screams a painful chill
In torment of the mind does trace
I wait here thick of splintered thorn
My tears they fall upon the seed
In hopes the bloom of perfect dawn
Will light the way of what I need
My hands are sore of calloused fear
Scars my skin they carve a line
Neath bramble branch of broken cheer
A breast of this near mortal time
Your hand I long of feathered feel
So soft the touch, my heart does wane
These eyes, a love to then reveal
Within your arms, ignite the flame
Lift me for my body weak
Desires but the breath of you
To breathe within this soul I seek
Allowing dreams to mend the true
Or shall I die alone this eve
Beyond the moon of wicked glow
Lost of every captured dream
And nothing more I need to know
~~~~~
When there, atop, a shadowed form
With torch in hand of flickered fire
Eyes so wide to fend the storm
I reach for her which I desire

Upon my brow a single kiss
Of angel wings in silken twine
“Arise” a voice, melodic bliss
“I’ve come, my love, to make you mine”

The sun appears on eastern shore
As flowers bloom in petal’d faire
Of wishes I do cast once more
My fortune now to find you there

“Come, let’s dream, let’s dream as one”
You sing to me harmonic voice
“And fall in love till time is done”
My heart has only but one choice

We leave this place of fractured doubt
My hand in yours, my life the same
A feeling but the need to shout
Dear heavens, thank you once again

For I was lost, a wilted soul
Alone of this and every breath
Of counted stars to take their toll
Awaiting but my coming death

And now my world has filled the brim
With love I find so deep inside
My dream is you, has always been
No longer do I run and hide

So now we dream, we dream as one
Such beauty does my life exceed
Perfection to my sight has come
Sweet angel, all I’ll ever need
Epic = Way too long...sorry

Stop the mad
Jack Jun 2014
I sit here alone staring at the hate,
the anger and the situation
Wondering why it has to be this way

People are people, they make mistakes,
they say the wrong things,
words slip out that are not meant, perhaps in frustration

Harm is born of narrow minds
who can’t see past their own faces,
frowning in the bright sunlight, complaining about rain

Filling up on foolish fumes…
what fuels this need to make another feel bad,
what stands in the way of peace

Forgiveness, an antiquated word
Little use and it will disappear,
if it hasn’t already

Who is better than another
When push comes to shove…
why does push come to shove

War, we all despise it but we all create it,
not with guns and tanks
but with hurtful phrases and sharpshooter aim

Pointing our weapons because…because
of something uttered in the heat of the moment
a friend, (loose term?) that fails to wave hello

Why can’t we all just get along,
stop the maddening effects,
stop the madness…stop the mad

For something more than love

Trenches dug, a mile deep
My body it is sore
Firm against the lies that seep
Beneath the sliding door

Crevices of mounting hate
Stand the borderline
Quietly I sit and wait
A distant church bell chimes

Thunder falls from every cloud
Children run and hide
Barricades inform the crowd
To walk the other side

Sticks and stones and broken bones
Phrases fired back
Insults from the words have grown
Now arming the attack

Strangers in the circus tent
Clowns to fill the car
Popcorn quotes, the need to vent
This now has gone too far

Raise the flag, your colored choice
Wave it high above
Think before you use your voice
For something more than love

Desperate on this darkest star
In stagnant air to breathe
Jagged reach of tended far
So much I can’t believe

A’ chained upon the barricade
Locked this welded form
Broken of mistakes I’ve made
Waiting on the storm

As here upon my knees I weep
Head within my hands
Crying tears forever keep
Aside from promised plans

My heart now sliced in silent view
The end beckons me home
This which I have done to you
My life it sits alone

Shadows hung on shouldered fall
Mud encrusts my feet
Pain besets this lonely call
As endless sorrows seep

“I’m sorry”, echoes in my head
Engulfed in rhythm’d flow
Offered of a broken man
Who prays for you to know

Pleadings from this sectioned seat
I beg with all I am
Calling out in sad repeat
This empty place I stand

I ask for your forgiveness
Myself I can’t forgive
This punishment lies endless
Of fractured days I live

The pain is ever coming
Though nothing I shall share
I face the sun so stunning
In hopes that you are there

And she smiles...

Somewhere in the distance
the horizon sleeps my canvas,
dawn comes to me in a dream

While the sun’s early rays
caress her,
widening her sable eyes and she smiles…

(before these eyes of mine can see)

Darkness drinks my landscape
in silence as I breathe, staring,
sending my heart along this imaginary line

As she sips her cup,
warm within this daylight bliss
Mornings are her and she smiles…

(and I find a crescent moon smiling on me)

A glint, a faint hint of light I see
of grapefruit tint and raspberry ribbons,
like fireflies on the hill

She peers out the window,
runs her fingers through her hair, inhaling
blue morning glory skies, and she smiles…

(as I exhale the night and the eastern glow I greet)

Pastels in salmon flow gather of my scene
and I rejoice in the new born light for at last,
across the distance, we may share the sun

*And she smiles…

One last dream
Jack Jul 2014
Slowly I collect the petals lying on the ground
One by one I hold them as I dream of only you
Silence on this morning is my never ending sound
Sunrise creeps above the field not offering a clue

When there is a darkness that surrounds my fragile heart
Blinded by the emptiness that clings upon the vine
Drained of each emotion at these places that I start
Walking in a circle just to breathe this one last time

Why is it that pathways seem a crooked winding way
Finding every corner leads my steps into the fall
Tree lined sad existence of a world now gone astray
Echoes render nothing as my tears so loudly call

Here I fall upon my knees, my strength in weakness gone
Sinking in the mud so deep, now caked about my feet
Heavy is the burden weighing firmly on this dawn
Reaching in the distance as my mind it bids retreat

Falling ever faster neath this lonely garish mire
Sludge of every life before, above my eyes the view
Saying farewell to my love, my only true desire
Holding up the petals in the final moments due

Taking to the deep my feelings tightly locked inside
Giving up, that someone will retrieve me from this fate
The end has wrapped around me as I know that I have died
Disappearing in the shadows formed beyond the gate

Loneliness feels just like this…in rooms without a door
Staring at the carpet now revolving down below
Watching as the gray begins and fading smiles pour
One last dream, one last thought, as now it’s time to go

How is it that love
can come calling
from the street down below
as you stand on a balcony
feeling the heat,
listening to the sounds of the city

Leaning on an ornate rail
of spiraled steel
allowing the sweet music
to flow past potted evergreens
and glass top tables

How is it love
knows the lingering need
after a sunset sweeps
past the last dream
defined with eyes closed

It finds you in the moments
your mind searches for a sign
pointing in some unknown direction
challenging traffic to obey
crossing lanes into your heart

How is it love
reaches that place you did not know
was open, knocking on the door
waiting for you to answer
with an unknowing smile on your face

Seeking entrance to the deepest parts
where weakness lives
and shields are lowered
Breathing in the scent of the magnolia
you nurtured to bloom

How is it love
can find me at last
and I can not touch it

Lunar Love (10W)
Jack Jun 2014
The moon’s
reflection in your eyes...
eclipses my heart
Inspired by Calpurnia Mockingbird's review of another poem of mine.

Worth
Jack Nov 2014
~

Of worth, I wonder, oh I plead
This man of very simple means
Alone in truth my love does bear
If only you were here with me
~
A tiny touch of fingertips
Invokes desire to my glow
A brush against your supple lips
My blood a’ boil, starts to flow
~
So tight within your arms I see
My place, the world I long to share
O’ cast of shimmering moon beam
Now shines upon your autumn hair
~
Of eyes so dark, intense thy form
In prayers ago, to find me true
Cold winters fierce, I’ll keep you warm
To cry, I’m so in love with you
~
So am I worth what I so need
I stand before this evening light
With scars where once my life did bleed
An anguished soul of sorted sight
~
To dream in darkness shedding fear
Till death does come to find my day
I’m worth it if your love is near
Within my heart along the way

Kissing you would be sweeter,

My Heart
Jack Apr 2014
Can you hear it?
Soft on window pane followings
Long of sunrise shadows
Paced in steps of fountains calling
Drifting in and out of silence
Tempo’d in graffiti sign language
Pouring out internal meanings
Rhythm’d vertical thumping

Blushed in muted tones
Standing in the rainbow’s arch
Drenched of weeping welcomes
Locked beyond early futures
Singing sweet praises of you
Moving in metered time
To your wondrous love
Can you hear it?

Your words
Jack Jan 2015
~

Rushing upon slippery stones,
smooth textures fall
far below glistened riverbed smiles

White foam visions reflect,
gathering within misted whispers
as I stand naked, breathing in the day,
drenched in warm poetic waterfalls

Rhyming to the sun’s glare, always aware,
baring my soul now flooded in
this beauty which saturates my eyes

Fern leaf dreamscapes
trickle my fancy and dragonflies
skim the surface as love washes over me, cascading
desires in unending streams
*of your words…

And I sincerely hope
Jack Jul 2014
~

Sunlight shines through your window
Warmth embraces your wintered skin
Radiance of nature’s kiss
You feel it…

Music plays this early morning hour
Melodies fill the room with sound
Lifting your weary spirits
You hear it…

A smile that glows of wondrous beauty
Enchanting and eternally contagious
Sending hearts a’ flutter
You show it…

Coffee is freshly brewed and hot
A welcomed companion at dawn
Slowly pouring yourself a cup
You taste it…

Spring is waiting on the chilly horizon
Blues skies and fragrant blooms are not far off
Butterflies are soon to awaken
You sense it…

Silky beaches with turquoise waters
Margaritas in romantic locations
Resting in the shade of a majestic palm
You dream it…

Poetry appears on a flickering screen
Wonderful words to entice your mind
Verses in flowery fonts and design
You see it…

Even though I haven’t told you
I adore you more than all of these things
And I sincerely hope
You know it…

Even the smallest refrain
Jack Sep 2014
Even the smallest refrain

Why is the sky so much darker
When did the sun start to set
So many shadows are falling my pathway
Hoping my heart can forget

What is the meaning of never
Can I still stand on my own
How could you leave me out here in the darkness
Hiding these fears I have sown

Can you not see I am crying
Pleading with stars in the sky
Calling your name till the heavens are reeling
Seeking the day passing by

Empty my dreams they have fallen
Shattered this earth down below
Collections of feelings stretched long in the mist
Anguish felt ever so slow

Echoes the branches are swaying
Silhouettes pointing at me
Staring upon every sorrow now spoken
Here in this night I can see

If in your heart you find waiting
Even the smallest refrain
Hear of my words for I beg you to listen
I need you, please love me again
Not a state of mind, just a poem.

You and me and the moon
Jack Sep 2014
~

You and me and the moon
and no one else exists
on this silent night
when only the sound
of our beating hearts
are heard
~
Stars stare down
with smiles glistening,
giggling among each other
at this love they witness,
and I imagine them
reflecting in your eyes
~
Many are the miles
that stand between us,
winding endlessly,
yet shortened by
this sight we both share
on this night when it’s
~
You and me and the moon
*and no one else exists
