A Faded Dream
 Jul 2019 anon
Jamsey
I once had a dream
All captured and framed
Put up in a corner of my heart
I preened at its possession
More like an obsession
But then
Time went by
And one day
I saw a picture
All faded and dull
Hanging limply
In a lone corner of my heart
Slowly I realized
This was once my dream
Now all withered and battered
Having endured
The storms in my heart
I pulled down the picture
Stroked it longingly
Stared at it lovingly
Then I let it go
For dreams only shine
In the light of true love.

In my garden
I drink in the beauty of the blossoms
Like one lost in the desert
Searching for the water of life
For a few moments
The sweet fragrance and sunlit hues
Block out an ugly world
And I am at peace...
The eyes wander in search of knowledge
As the butterfly flutters between flowers in search of sweetest nectar
Skipping the pitcher flowers
And the spider’s ornate dew soaked webs

The tongue and the heart
Enriched by the nectar
Know no thirst, wordless
Meditate, all sated

The mind of all
Knew the taste
The nectar of life
Experiences every day
That come your way
