All these poems are about
heartbreak and hate
self destruction and self abuse
most of our poetry
is just venting in a creatively wordy way
will any of these fake inked words make a difference
A dent in the already dented world
What am I doing here?
What are you?
I have forever been the one
that catches people when they fall
or tries to keep spirits high
when things look darkest,
I snapped,
I broke,
5 years of strength,
5 years of blocking pain
behind my walls I thought impenetrable.
I feel the need to brag
about how hard it was,
How well I kept my secrets hidden
behind the smile I can no longer keep,
No-one is to blame but I,
I have always been the one
that wants to comfort but now,
I fear it is my turn to be comforted.
Lets try & play pretend for a day,
You'll walk in mine & I'll follow suit.
We travel to a place so far away,
With new adventures just me and you.

We'll seek nirvana without a clue,
Just rainbows & knuckles to guide us through.
All we need from this world of fools,
Is our love together forever and true.

I don't know what the numbers mean, they float inside my head
I count them in between the ticks I try to put to bed
And if there's any logic left you will not find it here
Considering the apathy has made itself unclear

Or can you force the senses to appease another thought
To find a new beginning where you've tied a tighter knot
Suppose interdependency be vaguely unaware
Of any past security you swore was ever there

The case for explanations then, may need to be adjourned
In retrospect, the evidence has already been burned
So if you'd like to sup the ash, then turn it into bread
The stove is set, the fire hot, the recipe - regret

Most of my time is spent in Piggly Wiggly lines
So you know the Hollywood rags I have seen
Scouring them inside out, top to bottom, back to front
I know all the skinny on all the skinny stars in-between

This day Mona in a Moo Moo says from behind me
Something about this must be done
So with the East in our rear ( That doesn't sound right does it )
Look out Hollywood California here we come

Not long after landing in Los Angeles
Before we even barely had time
We set up what "THEY" think is an Organic Juice Hand Squeezed By ******'s
and Himalayan Soy Sushi Bar
Out of our Hot Dog cart on Hollywood and Vine

Of course we've added a little secret ingredient
Something to fatten those Hollywood types up
So they'll look like the rest of us in America
And with the line around the block it looks like they can't get enough

With a little dab here and a little sprinkle there (wink, wink)
Our cart has become the talk of the town
You'd think they would have figured it out by now
As each delicious bite adds a few extra pounds

With menu items with names like
Add Another Roll Sushi
or the...
Don't Look Behind You Sushi Surprise
Then there's our most popular item
The California Your **** SuperSize

Now that we've fattened up most of the Movie Stars and then some
California's so heavy it may soon slide into the sea
With a new concoction we've developed to stimulate brain juices
We're now taking our Hot Dog cart to Washington D.C.

I have but only
Finite lights,
And each cruel word
Breaks bulbs.

If you're there with me,
I have nothing to fear,
If you are not here then,
I worry about being lonely,
And about not having anyone.

If you're there with me,
I have courage inside,
If you are not here then,
I shy away from the world,
And from all sorts of dangers.

If you're there with me,
I have reasons to smile,
If you are not here then,
I find smiling just a vanity,
And oftentimes a difficult task.

If you're here with me,
I have the best feeling,
If you are not here then,
I even find breathing a job,
And yes I find it black & dark.

So I just breathe in & out,
It's not living what I do,
I'll wait for days to pass,
I see you stealing my 'beats,
And wait for the day we meet.
