The Vision of a Mother

When I needed a hand,
a place to go,
she was always there
with a soft hello.

Welcoming me warmly,
like Mother Mary’s calm,
a gentle wave of comfort,
a healing balm.

Sent from heaven’s light,
a star in the night,
a shining presence
so tender and bright.

I couldn’t believe it—
why would she care?
I was just a child,
too scared to dare.

Afraid to love,
afraid to be known,
but she stood beside me,
so I wasn’t alone.

A glimmer of hope
slowly grew inside,
replacing the shame
I had tried to hide.

Thank you, dear Mary,
for helping me see,
the love in my heart
is boundless and free.

My Spirit Lifter

for Jeff

I don’t think you’ll ever truly see
The light you shine inside of me.
How you’ve touched my life so deep,
Shaped the soul I’m proud to keep.

You may not know the gift you give—
The love that helps my heart to live.
Even in my darkest night,
You are my ever-burning light.

Unconditional, pure, and rare,
A love beyond compare.
It fills my body, mind, and soul,
Makes broken pieces whole.

I doubt you feel the depth I hold,
The stories yet untold.
But know this truth I speak today—
You are my strength, my will to stay.

An amazing friend, so true and kind,
Without you, peace I could not find.
In having you, my life is whole—
You complete the missing parts of my soul.

Missing My Angel
By Morning Star

[Verse 1]
I have a special person,
someone I can lean on.
She makes me feel secure,
like a shelter in the storm.

Her kindness is a treasure,
one that’s hard to find.
When the world feels heavy,
she’s peace within my mind.

[Chorus]
You’re my angel, shining through,
lifting me up when I’m feeling blue.
In your arms, I find my home—
with you, I’m never alone.
Oh, my angel, this is true,
I’m so lucky to have you.

[Verse 2]
When I need to talk,
I know you’re always there.
You hold out your arms,
showing that you care.

Your heart is open wide,
a light that guides my way.
With you beside me,
I can face each day.

[Chorus]
You’re my angel, shining through,
lifting me up when I’m feeling blue.
In your arms, I find my home—
with you, I’m never alone.
Oh, my angel, this is true,
I’m so lucky to have you.

[Bridge]
Friends like you don’t come around,
you’re a rare and precious sound.
I’ll hold on tight, I’ll never let go—
because you’re the best I know.

[Chorus]
You’re my angel, shining through,
lifting me up when I’m feeling blue.
In your arms, I find my home—
with you, I’m never alone.
Oh, my angel, this is true,
I’m so lucky to have you.

[Outro – soft]
So here’s my heart, I give to you—
my angel, my friend, so pure and true.

My Angel

by Morning Star

I have a special person,
someone I can depend on.
She makes the world feel softer,
a place where I belong.

Her presence brings me comfort,
her voice a calm embrace.
She’s the kind of soul you treasure—
the kind you never replace.

You see, she is so precious,
so rare, so deeply true.
My friend, you are an angel,
and I think the world of you.

Whenever I feel heavy,
with burdens hard to share,
you open up your heart to me,
with love so rich and rare.

You never turn away from me,
no matter how I fall.
You're always there to lift me—
your arms, my safest call.

Friends like you are miracles,
so hard to ever find.
And I must be one of the lucky ones
to have your heart with mine.

🎵 MISS YOU, DAD
by Morning Star

[Verse 1]
When I was small, you stood so tall
My hero in blue, I had it all
Silver buttons shining bright
Your boots, your hat, your guiding light

We'd play with your radio, you'd be asleep
Laughing at voices that came through deep
At night I waited just to see
Those flashing lights come home to me

[Chorus]
You were the one who made me feel safe
Arms wide open, love in their place
I still reach out, though you're not near
Still hear your voice, still feel you here
I miss you, Dad, I miss you so
And I just wanted you to know

[Verse 2]
We climbed hills that felt so high
You’d lift me up to touch the sky
When I was scared, you’d always say
"Don’t be afraid — I’ll catch you, okay?"

We walked on beaches, side by side
Your hand in mine, the rising tide
The world was simple, warm, and true
I never felt more loved than by you

[Chorus]
You were the one who made me feel safe
Arms wide open, love in their place
I still reach out, though you're not near
Still hear your voice, still feel you here
I miss you, Dad, I miss you so
And I just wanted you to know

[Bridge]
Time moved on and something changed
I felt your silence like a wave
The day I needed you the most
You didn’t come, you felt too close
To someone you’d tried to forget
But I’m still here—did you forget?

[Verse 3]
There were tears I never let you see
All the birthdays you missed with me
The laughter you’d have loved to hear
The growing up, the falling tears

I’ve held on tight to what we had
Still just a girl who loves her dad
And though the years have built a wall
My love for you outgrows it all

[Final Chorus]
You were the one who made me feel safe
Arms wide open, love in their place
I still reach out, though you're not near
Still hear your voice, still feel you here
I miss you, Dad, I miss you so
And I just wanted you to know

[Outro – softly]
If you can hear me where you are…
I still believe you’re not that far
So catch me, please — like you used to do
Because Dad…
I still love you.

Miss You, Dad

by Morning Star

When I was small,
you stood so tall—
my proud, kind dad,
with silver buttons bright,
and the Queen’s crown shining in the light.
Shiny black shoes,
a flat hat to match your feet—
you were the man on the street,
but to me,
you were the whole world.

We’d play with your radio while you slept,
a man called Bob would crackle through,
asking what we were cooking up—
we’d giggle,
and wait for you.

At night, we’d race to the window
to catch the flash of your blue lights.
As you came ‘round the corner,
I’d beam with pride—
That’s my dad!
My hero in a uniform,
with arms strong enough to carry
both the weight of the world
and his little girl.

At birthdays, you'd tell the tale—
Rindercella and her sugly isters—
and laughter would roll
from the bellies of children
who knew you were safe,
not scary.
The policeman on the street?
That was my dad.

I remember summer walks,
your hand wrapped around mine.
We’d climb hills that felt like mountains
to my little legs—
but you’d cheer me on
until the sky opened wide,
and wild horses met our eyes.
You lifted me to ride one once,
and I cried,
“I’m scared I’ll fall!”
You smiled:
Then come off. Don’t be afraid—I’ll catch you.
And I knew you would.
You always did.

I remember the sunsets in Borth by the sea—
your size-11 feet beside me,
your big hand holding mine.
Just me and my dad.
There weren’t many kids
as lucky as me.
You were the only man
I ever truly trusted.

When Mum went away,
we tried to patch up broken hearts.
I saw your tears.
I felt your ache.
Too young to understand,
I only knew
you were always there for me.

But then, one day…
you weren’t.

The day my angel was baptised,
you didn’t come.
You said it was her—
your ex-wife—
you couldn’t bear
to be near her stare,
that she filled the air
like a ghost you couldn’t shake.
Maybe I should’ve said,
Not today—today I see my dad.
But I didn’t.
And maybe…
you didn’t want to come.

Maybe you’d moved on—
a new family, a new dawn—
and I didn’t belong
in that picture anymore.

I’ve cried so many tears
these past six years.
Dad, I love you—
please hold those words close.
I know you love me too,
even from afar.

They love you too,
though they don’t always show—
I’ve seen them sit alone
with tears quietly flowing.

Please, don’t turn your back.
Can’t we try again?
She left you,
but I never did.
You left me.
And now I carry
the same ache you did,
crying for someone
who once made me feel safe.

Dad—
your grandson Michael is nearly a man,
Steven’s eleven,
half his life you’ve missed.
They’re growing too fast
for kisses now,
but their hearts
still have a space for you.

Little Jack—
you’ve never met him.
But oh, he looks like you.
Eyes so blue,
a smile that would melt your heart.

And Amy?
She’s just like me
when I was small.

I remember how my little arms
would stretch out to reach you.
I know your arms
must be reaching too.

So please—
hear me.
See me.
Catch me.

I need a hug from those big, strong arms
that held me safe
when Mum was gone.

Someone,
hold me now.
Take away this ache.

I just want to see my dad again.

I love you.

🎵 Gift from Above

[Verse 1]
You came into my life so unexpectedly,
Right when I needed someone to believe in me.
You didn’t ask questions, you just understood,
And stood beside me the way no one else could.

[Verse 2]
You saw the scars I tried to hide,
The battles I fought, the tears I cried.
But somehow your light broke through the grey,
And I started to feel safe that day.

[Chorus]
You're a gift I never saw coming,
A calm in the storm when my world was running.
You lift me up with just one look,
You write love in places no one ever took.
I don’t need a reason, I don’t need proof—
I just know I found something true…
In you.

[Verse 3]
I hope I can be that light for you,
When the weight is heavy and you’re hurting too.
You don’t have to speak, I’ll know what to do—
Just like you’ve done for me, I’ll show up for you.

[Bridge]
If you ever feel lost in the silence of night,
I’ll be your warmth, your softer light.
And when it feels like the whole world’s too much,
Reach for me—I’ll be enough.

[Final Chorus]
You're a gift I never saw coming,
A hand to hold when I kept on running.
You love me through the darkest skies,
You’re the reason I still rise.
No need to explain, no need to prove—
I found something rare, something true…
In you.

[Outro]
You’re more than a moment, more than a friend—
You’re the kind of love that won’t ever end.
