It rained today.
Beatrice Rice Sep 2019
It rained today. Months of hot and exhausted but,
it rained today.

Relief was sweet, cool and unexpected. I had thought
it wasn’t ever going to change, yet
today it rained.

The weight of the sun had beaten down so heavily, looking up was impossible.
Today I caught raindrops on my tongue.

Tomorrow the sun will come out again, the temperature will rise, there will be nothing but steam.
Today it rained.
sometimes when life gets hot and exhausting, the last thing you expect is rain.

Frustations
Beatrice Rice Sep 2019
i don't want your thoughts,
your opinion.
why?
you're entitled to them you say?
but
once
you
voice
them,
mine are
changed.

feathers

My hopes.
The things with feathers, a wise woman once wrote,
Fleeting and elusive.
Hard to reach, but
Always near.
i've always been inspired by Emily Dickinson.
