Above as us though such no more
Peering eyes through heaven's floor
To come to be what all might be
And in the end to finally see
The crumbling stone and rotten wood
The results of all we thought was good
That dark black tower of pride and hate
In the coming time the hour too late
Hadrian Veska Apr 2019
Three to come
And one to go
One to return
At end of snow
One to watch
To be a guide
One last to judge
All men in time

Oh, I've loved
And oh I've known
That I have died
And I have grown

Into something new

The tracks behind
And the way made clear
I know where to go
I have naught to fear

On this journey long

But oh my heart
And oh my head
They say it'd be better
If I was dead

But how little do they know

That the I, I was
Died long ago

Who were they?
Those makeshift gods
Their temples forgotten
Their statues broken
In dust they now lie
Shattered and broken
Forgotten to time
Old myths and superstition

And who might you be?
To think yourself greater
That you don't also bow down
To the very same gods
Only now have they taken
Their truest of forms

What temptation is any longer needed?
When you celebrate evil as righteous
Parading the dead in the streets
I tell you the truth
You are worse of that they
Who worshiped the gods of old
For they may be spared for not knowing
While you know all evil
Committing it as your birthright
And indeed it is your right

The right of Damnation

Carry the throne you've built
Of lies, contempt and deceit
You will not rest upon it
But carry it on your back
For it weighs heavy on you
Not your body but your soul
In the end it will crush you
No matter how great you become
You'll die a shadow and wait in judgement
Until your the reckoning has come
There at the end will you sit
Judged in the halls of your fathers
That throne you pointed to
As proof of your power
Will be like a millstone around your own neck
And when judgement is passed will it drag you
Down to the very depths of hell

Love alone cannot save
Save alone for the love of God

Fragment
Crack and shatter

Once a whole
Not again to be

For who are we
