Hadrian Veska May 2018
Parse apart
Separate the seams
Let it all fall
To shallow dreams
And drift about
Unsure of place
Not bound in time
Motion or space
To be forgotten
And rest at ease
Beneath the waters
Of mindless seas
Hadrian Veska May 2018
The grass grows green
On hill, under tree
Spring has come
Along on the breeze
The flowers bloom
For the bird and the bee
And I'm content
With my cup of tea
Hadrian Veska May 2018
Weeks and days
Spent in the haze
Trying to find who I was
When a man spoke in my ear
With words calm and clear
I would not find myself where I searched

I was without not within
I thought with a grin
Which is why peace eluded me
The truth unimpaired
Spoke by one who cared
Saved me from my own thoughts

And though from Adam
They know me not
I hope they know
The good they've brought
Though it may not feel that way
In these current darker days
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
Lay me down to rest
To mourn the nightmares
That used to comfort me
For even they have now passed
Dispersed among the faded stars

The sun is long set
remembered only distantly
In the vague stories of spectres
Whispered by candlelight
In the deep places of the earth

Only the broken moon remains
Blankly vigil over me
And over the shattered remnants
On the sterile surface
Of the broken earth below
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
The scent of lavender
Wafts gently through the room
Fresh cut
From the gardens outside
Put in a vase
A third filled with water
I can feel her smile
From where I sit
In the next room over
As she washes her hands
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
The labyrinths that lie here below
Are insurmountable
Turn back now
If you wish to return
To the places whence you came

And if by some miracle you return
You will not be the same
As when you so foolishly entered
The crypts here below
Of that unnameable catastrophe
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
Worse to be a shadow
Than something wholly new
Holding on to old regrets
Events you can never change

To live you have to die
Not once but every day
In order to become
The truest version of yourself

Only those who abide in darkness
Can't bear to see themselves
Fragile and exposed
In the dawning light of day
