It's My New Dawn
Babatunde Raimi Feb 2020
I have transversed the most beautiful mountains
Across the hills and the valleys
Solely accompanied by nature
The whistling breeze
And the gushing Rivers

In my sojourn
I met beautiful beasts
Devouring me became their delight
Painting in my blood their fantasy
They toiled and tried
But grace found me

They wanted my sun set at noonday
With a blazzing sword
Shinning in the hands of a Master Goldsmith
Carefully crafted for vengeance
The Master smoth them all
Like thin air they vaporized

Why me, I asked
Why should anyone care
Even in my unfaithfullness
Then i heard that still small voice
Right in the middle of my travails
Your transgressions I have blotted
"I will walk with you"

Again, my mountains became stunning
My crooked path straight
My future breath-taking
Suddenly, i saw hope
In the midst of abandonement
Because my case is different
And it's my new dawn

Power Up
Babatunde Raimi Nov 2019
Today you break up
Tomorrow you make up
Then you realise it's a setup
After sweet **** make up
You had better wake up
You need to shake up
And also brace up
Relationahip have thorns and hiccups
But if you don't power up
Again, you will soon mess up
Open your sense and brace up
Do well to keep your eyes up
Only then will you end up
With tales of shake offs
That lead to your breakforth

Booths Hung
Babatunde Raimi Jun 2020
After years of meritorious service
Rooted in resilience and dedication
Even though I majored in the other league
I was ruthless in attack and midfield
Never did I allow any "Tembe" pass over
Yet, I didn't merit a national honour

I fired like Christiano, cut in like Messi
I pushed like Drogba and slide in like Kanu
I was the real G.O.A.T that only legends understand
A couple of this a couple of that
For the fear of lung cancer,  I avoided 69 and headings
Only legends will understand

Home and away, I was strong
Kicking from all sides of the field
My generator of generations deserves a medal
After surviving different fields of different sizes
And now, I am hanging my booths
What a way to quite the scene

I buried all in all the sitters and kept clean slates
Whenever I hugged the line, I changed the rythym
Sometimes I was caught off guard
Especially when I play home sweet home
But right now, its time to park the bus
Before calamity calls...

I stayed on my feet as a legend
Not only was I a dead ball specialist
I scored many dead ***** and penalties
Bringing out the glow in every field I cultivate
But it's time to hang the booth

I remember committing some fouls
Sustaining life long injuries and retaining momentoes
At the end, vanity upon vanity is vanity
I am done and dusted, to face my warrant
The only field I want to cultivate now
My wifes'...

The kingdom of God is at hand, repent
If you are still playing without caution
It will not be long before your time will come Not everyone gets the grace of a second chance
I did, now, let me face my career, warrant squarely
Godsped! As for me, booths hung.

Kisses
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
How your kiss makes me droll
Making me desirous to loosing my virginity
Too much emotion wrapped in one act
Passionate; deeply, sensual and ******
Just close your eyes; don't go too fast...

Kiss your partner like your life depends on it
Each time your tongues locks; just lock it down
Make sure nothing else matters in the world
When you feel the adrenaline
Wanting to make you quiver
That's the time to French roll it

On a ruby red lips calories are burnt
Seven times a day should you constantly kiss
If you think I look agelessly ageless
With a superb immune system
It's because I am intentional

With a breathe of fresh air
Your nerve cells are stimulated
By this you take in more protein, salt
Water and even bacteria (true)
But it's all worth it. No doubt a natural therapy
Couples who kiss more love and live longer

When your lips are fully locked and loaded
Your happy hormones are activated
Self-esteem restored with joys
Nothing else matters, kissing is sweater than ***
"If you know, you know"

You don't really have to go all the way
Especially when you don't have to
Master the beautiful act of kissing
And your life will never be the same again
So, next time, start with a kiss
A very deep kiss. Sadly, I'm just a Coach.

That Africa May Be Great
Babatunde Raimi Jan 2020
Why call me African Giant
When my people live below poverty level
Less than two dollars a day
I cry for my country Nigeria
A people suffering and smiling
A land plenty in poverty

If we top Africa's oil production
Shouldn't our social security be world class?
Shouldn't our senior citizens be tended with class
Why the massive exodus abroad?
Brain drain and capital flight
Increase in crime wave
I cry for my nation

How can a man marry a wife
And another rapes her with impunity
Collects all the goodness deposited in her
Who should be the first partaker of the fruit?
Tell me, a stranger or the groom?
Who cursed Africa?

Who owns our oil wells?
How many indigenous companies?
Stupidity is killing a bush Rat
Selling it to the refiner cheap
And gathering with your cohorts
Drinking pepper soup with same bush Rat
At an exorbitant price

We lost our middle class
In Africa's supposed largest economy
You are either rich or very poor
This is more like the animal kingdom
Where the winner takes it all
What am I even saying?
Are we not all animals!

Who is talking about gold?
Agriculture and minerals
Who is talking about our human resource?
Schooled with employability mentality
We have to change the narratives
This change begins with you
Stop sitting on the fence

If we keep servicing debts
Supporting lavish lawmakers lifestyles
It won't be long before famine sets in
A re-enactmant of Genesis 41
What happened to infrastructural development?
Human and capacity development
Great nation, indeed!

Where do all our oil money go?
You cannot be a player and referee same time
Who benefits from our collective wealth
Definitely not the Niger Deltans
You should be ashamed as a leader
We chose you, but you failed...

Don't think we are fools
We are only acting the fool
Just to fool you fool
That thinks you are fooling us
A new generation of activists are born
Not with guns and powders
We will fight you with the greatest weapon
A pen, mightier than the sword
With the people on our side

I pay my taxes and abhor capital flight
If you under-report your earnings
Or surreptitiously evade tax
Are you different from them?
Play your part, keep hands clean
Very soon, their sins will visit them
Publicly, they will be put to shame
That Africa may be great

Babatunde Raimi May 2020
Untamed creatures
Lurking around the pride
Seeking whom to devour
Loose guard at your peril
It's welcome to Valhala

They answer to many names
Comes in different shades and sizes
They fly in from all corners
Seeking to prey on a "Mugu"

Worse that the Bats at twilight
They lash unto you until you go dry
Should you fall for their trickery
You might have fallen for a senior colleague

They are not the finest
But they are smart
Be the crow, don't be a "Mugu"
And before you invest, investigate

Women
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
He made the man the strongest of all
To till the ground and eat therefrom
He made the man wiser than the wisest
But he made a woman to wipe his tears

In heaven He made us all in His image
Promised protection from noisome pestilence
But asked that we always seek wisdom
Some of these hidden between her pout *******

He gave us peace that passeth all understanding
Joy eternal that flows from the top
And when a house is as peaceful as the stream
Not too faraway is a woman wiser than Solomon

For ages past, they've been suppressed and silenced
But this narrative is fast changing in our world
When you do find your cause, run with it
A world without women is not worth living

If all you've got as a woman is your cooking skills
Or a PH.d. In the beautiful art of procreation
You are a disgrace to feminity at large
A waste of the human resource called "Woman"

In my quest towards excellence in life and ministry
I have met principalities and powers adorned in Angelic apparels
****** from their breast of wisdom and intelligence
In honour therefore, I pen this to all the women in the world.

A Poem: Time

Why fret over what is certain?
All we ask is grace to complete the task
So like the Master, we may die empty
And boldly declare at last, "It is finished"

If Christ my Redeemer tarries
I will run my cause with a degree of assurance
That someday you all will remember me
For all I contributed to planet earth

Until my poems are translated into foreign languages
Until my books become a reference for liberation
Until my life becomes a  example worth emulating
Continually will I spread the word of hope

I can see beyond your facials
Seek strength in the face of adversity and hurts
Hang on my friend, all you need is true faith
Change your thinking, strive to live, not survive

One day people will gather on you
Whilst your mortal frame is cast down below
What will be said of you? So live right
For wei all know our D.O.B., none their D.O.D.

When I am long gone to the great divide
My poems will still give you those tingling sensation
My books, surely will still spur you to greater heights
Just because I choose to live, not survive

Quit the lamentations and get a life
Find a game you cannot live without and win
The end will always justify the means
For if you die without legacies, you die empty

Today is a present, tomorrow; a gift
But for grace, none is certain of tomorrow
It's time to do what you have always loved
Because you never can tell when the time cometh

Religious Scam
Babatunde Raimi Jan 2020
For the want of miracles
My people have become gullible
Muscled and brainwashed by fake oracles
Masters of psychology and "wash wash" miracles
Robbing them of their wealth and bangles

How long shall we be susceptible
To the charades of these scientists
Who masquerade as holier than Jesus
Poverty stricken scam artists
Who pose as Deputy Jesus

HE has ears, HE can hear
HE has hands, HE can save
Heaven and earth is HIS
the earth and the fullness therein
Why ask a creation, when you can ask the Creator?

Your mother is a witch
Your inlaws flies in the night
Until you **** them, no peace
I pity your condition
Be careful who counsels you
Lest they cancek you out of life

Give me, give me is how babies pray
What must I do, the lines of Kings
Until you settle with the word
You will never cross to the other side

Stop rubbishing your education
So many herberlist are now prophets
All they require is to say the words
You automatically becomes their "Maga"

The Spirit of Jah is in all men
My Pastor said, my Daddy said
That is how many marriages got destroyed
Blood transfusion is a curse
By it so many stars were murdered
By brainwashed and murderous parents

Sit with the word like Paul
Fast and pray like a true discipline
Seek Him in truth and in spirit
Then praise Him like David
Let me see that challenge that will stand

He is an open handed God
He allows His children make choices
If you return to Him genuinely
The world will soon  gather to celebrate you
Enough of Religious Scam, "Mbok"

Knowledge Is Power
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2019
I don't know
But I want to know
If you do know
Why don't I know
Is the knowing exclusive?
Knowledge ls power
What worked in the Industrial age
Might not work in the technology age
But if you don't know
How will you know?

Ask relevant questions
That you may know better
Then, you will be illuminated
Because knowledge beautifies
But it is in the knowing
Therefore seek to know
Knowledge is power
Those that knows
Are seated in high places
That's where we are right now

Know the basics
Apply the principles
Practice the "Known"
And let the knowledge pay
In your primary school, you learn principles
In your secondary school, you learn practice
In your university, you learnmanagement
And in reality, you face lifematics
Arm yourself with the latest
I will see you at the top!

Cast away doubts and unbelieve
Come out of that prison
The one that encaged you in your heart
If you made it this far
Surely, there is a star in you
Break the ice, go for it

Ready! Set! It's in you!
Go for it! Flaunt it!

Sorry
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
I am glad I mended fences
I am glad I took the kneel
After years of ego centrism
Basking in one useless pride
That which lasted far too long
I finally got the nerve to cower
I said I am sorry; flat out...

How I felt to responsible for my irresponsibilities
Which should never be documented
How I feel so peaceful at heart
Peace, it long evaded my enclave
But I heard the words from a sage
"It is never too late to be right"
Let go everything, please let go

Seek peace and your heavens will open
You've been around that hill long enough
Holding on places a wedge on your prayers
"As we forgive those, who trespass against us"
Sometimes it is not your fault
Just say sorry and mean it
I see a new you emerging afterwards
Just say "Sorry..."

Behind My Smiles
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
With you still trapped inside of me
I can't let go, my whole life is a mess
If I am unworthy of your love
Tell me, who is?
When you said the words
My whole life crumbled

You were class act in your world
I was your puppet, was I not your world?
I hope I'll be alright, though I doubt
You already are deep into my fabric
Now the world knows your name
Where do I start from? Where?

Behind my smiles are broken promises
I was laid and used by a gamer
A master of deception and manipulations
But don't cry for me, I'll carry my cross
For her, I lost my friends and family
Who knows if love will ever come again

The treasure you seek will fade away
The six packs you treasure will wear out
Even the ornaments will be out-fashioned
Then, I would have come on stage from the rumbles
You will come back looking for me
But I will be long gone and happily married...

"Osu"
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
You brought joy to my soul
and lightened my darkened heart.
I just want to love you forever and re-write our history books and its negative narrations.

You are a power packed woman,
curvateously endowed in the right
proportions; in the right places with the
moves of a jungle cat.

In the eyes of our Creator, we are all
"Nwadiala". Anyone who calls another "Osu" is but a terrorist. Don't we all have red blood flowing through our veins?

My love for you transcends tribal or
religious lines. If I found love beyond the boaders of my village, why not? With our union, we break the chains of "Osu" and live as freeborns.

You are not just my heaven on earth, you are my still waters. You are the stream that flows in my heart, the sound that oozes from my flute.

When your father walks you through the aisle, I will be at the other end with a smile, to walk to from thence into bliss. For us, it shall be for better for best, till death do us part.

Love Is Not Enough
Babatunde Raimi Nov 2019
Curtains drawn
As in a Shakespearean play
Nightfall in paradise
In a steamy session
Cuddlings and murmurings
Still, we didn't hear a word
No doubt, we are in love

Never felt this way
Nor this secured
Just like a Cub in a pride
This seemed like home
It was for us a beginning
The beginning of an end
Somehow, i felt uneasy

No more games
The time has come
To hang this booth
Make me a home
And focus on tomorrow
The one that is filled with hopes
At least, it seemed so

But I am in love
In this journey of "Yes I Do"
Is love just enough?
What about my dreams
Does it matter to him?
He never talks about it
Is this a red flag?

I worshiped you Diana
When you said "love is all that matters"
Did you think about compatibility?
Was this in your generation?
What if he she doesn't like 69
What if he is SS?
Just what if Diana?

Today in my world
The economic pendulum is swinging
Fast in favour of women?
What if he is not willing to work?
So many "What is?" left unanswered?
But I love you
Is love just enough?

We can plan for years?
Use the best wedding planner
Hirer the best artist
So much buzz and pageantry
Put into an event of one day
What about the marriage?
What if she still has baggages?

I love ***, she doesn't
I love to club, but he'll pass
Should i loose my life
All because of marriage?
But I'm in love
Doesn't love conquer all?
Should i just submit?
And how for the best?

Love is never enough Sweety
The real question should be
Are we really compatible?
I checked my checklist
And suddenly realised
We are in love, but incompatible
So, this is where the road ends
For decision decides destiny
I'm sorry...

Pleasures Of Vanity
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
You didn't respond to my calls
So I decided to invoke you in a poem
Now and forever, my soul yearns for your presence
I tried to stay afloat, glaring at your pictures
But this got me more sorrows
For my bed is lonely without you

Sometimes I pretend you are here
And hug my pillow so tight to feel your warmth
Only to find myself on an island called yesterday
Alone, lonely and missing your  presence
I just realised I have lost a diamond
While chasing after pleasures of vanity

Now I am left with memories
Your sweet smiles and laughter at the other end
How I so long to hear your voice at the other side
All I needed was just your "Hello" to start my day
And that sweet voice to draw the curtains at night
But now, all those are memories traded for vanity

Please don't break up with me
You know I love and adore you so much
Do you really have to go My Love?"
I wrote my best lines in your arms
Climbed my greatest heights with you in the picture
Without you I am a non-entity
All I ask, now and forever, please forgive me...

Subtly, I prayed you'll say the words

If true love doesn't hurt, then why?
How different are these from Monkeys?

Y'all should be sacrificed to the gods

Even Jupiter is dismayed
By these callous acts of mutilation
Filled with barbarism, rooted in ignorance
Who cursed Africa? Please tell me
That we may make atonements
And to say but the least
This happens, somewhere in Africa

If I were the Commander-In-Chief
I'll put you on a boat, sailing to nowhere
Make you a spectacle, an amusement to the crew
And cast you to yonder place down below
A feast for "Iye Moja" and her cohorts

When did you ever teach me about sexuality
If hurting me is your way of making me unattractive
Will you also flatten my boisterous ***?
Or seal the city of pleasure between my legs

Never Again
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2019
I crossed the line
When i laid with another
I swear down
It was the devil's handiwork
For a moment i felt vulnerable

In the hands of Delilah
I lost my sense of reasoning
And judgement due to infatuation
Enchanted by her curves
Mystified by her eyes
My vision was obfuscated

If Adam fell, who i am?
It was the devil's handiwork
Samson gave his password
Lost his ministry on Delilah's lap
Eventually he paid the supreme price

Even though you knew
You still loved me unequivocally
While the smile fooled others
I saw the bruise in your heart
As you teared for love

Today, i remember my vows
Swear by the womb that bore me
Never again will i stray
Like a Sheep without a shepherd
All i ask is forgiveness
Laden with unconditional love

Ever been in a parade?
And the Commanding Officer says
Eyes right, forward match
My eyes are now single
Fixated only on my Jewel

Now that i am renewed
I want my Baby back
I am now a crossed check
Account payee only
Just like Romeo and Juliet
Together we shall be
Till death do us part

He gave you His finger
For He is a good God
But you didn't acknowledge Him?
Have you not heard?
When you forget your source
You dry up

He gave you His hands
You wallowed in pride
You worshiped other gods
Fellowship became optional
But from the beginning
It was not so...

You forgot what brought you to prominence
The ovation was high
Then you compromised
What is hidden under heaven?
I laugh at you in Chinese
For you already chose your path

He lifted you up
Made you a phenomenon
The cynosure of all eyes
But you didn't give Him His place
You'll soon be displaced and replaced
Listen to me, God has alternatives

Return fully to Him now
Do it gradually till you graduate
Like the prodigal son
He will receive you again
And one second to your shame
The God of all flesh will show up

Now that you know why
The sky is just but a springboard
Not even your starting point
The world awaits your manifestation
Go forth and do exploits!

My Obsession
Babatunde Raimi Feb 2020
On that special day
In a blissfull atmosphere
I made out passionately
With my obssession
It was an intense session
Because it lacked supervision
After the seemless transfusion
Done with professional precision
With all the apprehension
Before the mating session
Now I have an undying ambition
With a very crazy compassion
With all the tension
To take you to the session
That will call for a love procession
To declare my obsession
And my conjugal mission
And that is my conclusion

We Desecrated Our Altars
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
We desecrated our altars
Violated our bodies and soul
And sought atonement with  accursed tongues

****** has became a norm
As paedophiles and rapists throng our streets
And then our gods kept mute, silent

We turned our land to ***** and Gomorrah
Are there not ten worthy in our universe?
That YOU may stop this plague? My Lord?

We are sorry, sober and repentant
Therefore, we invoke 2 Chronicles, Chapter 7 verse 14
Please, heal our land of this plague of Covid 19

Today, our mouths has been gagged by a mask
What a way to humble our pride and irreverence
What a way to bow and return to Your Majesty

You Are My Still Waters
Babatunde Raimi Jun 2020
You are a class act
Worth more than rubbies
You are my amazing magic wand
I'm glad you won the primaries

You are my green pastures
And my mesmerizing still waters
I pray to be your first good morning
And your last goodnight

You are God's purpose for my life
Strategically positioned for my rising
If you say "No", I'll die
Will you marry me?

Dear Valentine
Babatunde Raimi Feb 2020
A little bit of cake
A little bit of grape
The sky is red
The temples are set
And the eyes, blurry

The maps shall be drawn
With the greatest ink of all
Pleasures without boarders
As they travel to Paris
Without flying to Paris

It is the season of agape
Not for ****** immoralities
It's just nine months
Cambridge result will be out
Save for those who played safe

The reason for the season is love
That which knows no bound
Dear Valentine
Please be kind
We are already over-populated

You Were My Fine Wine
Babatunde Raimi Aug 2020
Surviving you has armed me with bravely
Now I see you for who you truly are
Even Snakes shed their skin
But a Leopard can never change her skin

I deserve all you did to me
For every tears you made me shed
The sleepless nights turned insomnia
I should never have trusted you

Your professions sounded angelic
You were a rarity, a gifted wordite
Who has mastered the art of deception
So sad, all was foundated on a plate of lies

You were my very fine wine
Made from the purest of grapes
But once I was blind; and now I can see
I pray to Zeus, maybe someday, love will find me.

And There You Are
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2019
Falling down a slippery *****
Moving from the south to the west
And there you are my love
Your arms wide open
I just need to fall in your hands
Then, together we fall to the ground
Kissing and rolling together
Until nature takes us west
It was cold and lonely
Even though we ended up east
For us, it was the beginning
A new dawn that will last till fade

You Are My Guitar Box
Babatunde Raimi Apr 2020
Our world, conjoined like twins
When you fingered my brain
I found you in my fret
Turned you to a note
In my diamond plaited box
Safely tucked in my heart

Every of your breathe is a sound
A very beautiful song to my ears
If chords make notes
And notes makes sounds
Then you are the missing key
You are sound, I, the box

Our life is tuned like guitar pegs
Together, let's pull the strings
And hear the sweat sound
Escaping from the soundbox
Serenading the atmosphere in bliss
Because you are my Guitar box

When you stopped the calls
Stopped the early morning calls
Halted the goodnight kisses
When the "Have you eaten" stopped
I knew I have lost you

I had sleepless nights
This by far, my worst nightmare
When you stopped nagging
Stopped asking about work
You created an indelible vacuum
That non could ever fill

When was the last time you asked?
About Chioma, Halima and Silfa
When you stopped sniffing on my phone
When you became monosyllabic
I knew I had lost my crown

Like droplets of dew
As the dawn breaks
Your tear filled the earth
You saved them for the last
Then you drew the curtain

You are the only star in my cloud
The only jet in my Airspace
I have gone wide and wild
Non is as sweet as you my world
Like the prodigal son I return
Please, open the gates

I wish the clock never stopped
Please forgive my immaturity
A dangerous one that cost me all
My heart beats for non but you
My world, please come back

Thomas Edison discovered electricity;
And invented light bulb
Alexander Graham Bell discovered sound;
And invented telephone
The world awaits your manifestation
It's never late to become

Discover problems
And Invent solutions
The Wright Brothers;
Achimedes, was a physicist and mathematician
William Thomson is to thermodynamics
As the Wright Brothers are credited with Aeroplane

Nothing lasts for forever
Not even life
So, tell me, what will you be remembered for?
There is an invention in you
Dont wait for it, find it!
Only then, and only then
Will you live thereafter; forever

Before You Die
Babatunde Raimi Mar 2020
Before you die
Leave a legacy
And you'll never die
Because great minds live
They never die

Before you die
Plant a tree
It will outlive you
That the fruits may grow
And feed the next generation

When you finally die
You'll look back and say
Of a truth, I gave everything
Until i gave my all
And it is finished...

Don't run after shekels
It is pure vanity
Don't be entrapped by ego
You'll be like Nebuchadnezzer
Tell me, do you have a legacy?

Everybody knows their date of birth?
None, their date of death?
To this end, stop surviving
Start living, leave a mark
History will be kind to you

When you stand before HIM
Like the parable of the talent
How will you account for your talents?
It is never late to do right
Destinies awaits your manifestations

Support a foundation
Volunteer at special schools
Deploy your gifts freely
That's why teacher's are gods
They ascend to heaven direct

Before I die
At a ripe old age
If Jesus tarries
I'll live a mark
For generations yet unborn

The real question is
Do Poets really die?
Do Authors really die?
Your guess is as good as mine
Their works makes them immortal

From the jungles of Africa
To the Samba of South America
The Islands of the Carribean
And the serenity of Australia
I have journeyed with my pen

When I finally cross
When it is finished
Don't cry for me
Life is not in duration
But in donation
And this is a testament

Legends Of The Zanga
Babatunde Raimi Jul 2020
******* is our heritage
It is our culture and tradition
You loose your culture, you loose yourself
Is there any juice sweeter than "Bobby"
Not even cold stone ice cream with waffles

Even if nothing comes out of it
We like it like that; a natural curative
Kissing without ******* is like a bee without honey
If you master this act my friend
You'll never need to ask thereafter

It's not like your natural orange
You  need to handle with care and caution
Add some vanilla or chocolate
Men! Your life will never be the same
Terms and conditions applies though
Else, "Na Panti you go find yourself"

You see those finely carved *****
They are like the gateway to paradise
They come in different shades and sizes
If you have tried the round, east west or tear drop
Narrow, asymmetric or bell shape
You are a true legend of the Zanga

With a tendency to reduce breast lumps
And also the chances of cancer
What about aiding blood flow and smooth skin?
This brings the real you and aids cross-
immunotherapy
And stress hormones are destroyed, naturally

Tickle the hyper-sensitive nerve endings
It can trigger the heartbeats to 110 beats per minute
The milk is a natural therapy for cancer
And can restore the immune system and the likes
Do it right; who knows maybe you can be lucky afterwards
That she may allow you advance further north

My First Night
Babatunde Raimi Apr 2020
My first night
The scenery was magical
As I laced the bed with **** lingerie
Scented candles, petals and oils
The arena looked enchanting
Our bodies vibrated all through
Her pyjamas was transparent
It revealed her revered contours

I started with a mild body massage
With her pout breast and firm ***** in view
With Kenny G at the background
This was heaven on earth
I parted the layers of her flesh And played with her *******
She convulsed and convulsed
And gently, she screamed my name

So memorable it was
****** was very close
As she echoed the words
So finally, "I am your wife"
Mountains surmounted
She won the prize
There was this glow she radiated
Like finally, she won

It was a night of bliss
All through the wedding
I travelled through the night
Our first shower was explosive
A shower before the shower
With kisses and cuddlings
With a slight romantic blush
I lifted her to the chambers
Where we explored our chambers

Just when I thought we were done
It was the begining of ****** ecstacies
Our night started in the morning
Oh! How we knacked, knacked and knacked
Then made solemn vows
Pledging, to love till fade
I searched for a life partner
In you, I found a soulmate...

Adieu Mama
Babatunde Raimi Jan 2020
She layed cool from the mute
As beautiful as the river goddess
Her smile still looked beautiful
But she is now a star
Sitting in the galaxy of the greats
She crossed to the other side
Where the grass is greener
And the water purer
As she layed cool from the mute
She smiled like a diva
For the first time since the news broke
I released droplets of tears
Then I smiled...
She knows I love her
But who am I to query the Creator
Who has chosen to take His creation
She got to her final abode
Done and dusted, she bowed
Afterall, legends don't die
They translate
Join me celebrate my icon
The one whose vehicle I rode to earth
From dust to dust she slept
Yet, so beautiful
Adieu Mama!

Can She Stil Love Me?
Babatunde Raimi Sep 2019
From his lips escaped thefeelings
He expertly hid in his heart
How he so treasured them
They were a part of his story

A breezy night it turned to be
A day she told me about that guy
She was drowned in his ocean
But still, I could feel her hurt

I wonder what spell he cast on her
I can still recall the statement
"His smile melts my very bone"
This, made me shiver

This strange guy I never met
Seemed to have captured her world
"I can never be with him"
Those words were soothing

But then I understood her hurts
She had carried it for years
Like a plaque on her breast
But, can she still love me?

Thank You
Babatunde Raimi Mar 2020
You are the soul reason
We believe in selfless service
At the expense of your lives
You risked all to save ours
Like the Mesaiah, you laid it down
The world thanks you

You took the hippocratic oath
Swore by all the Greek gods
And the only Uncreated Creator
To preserve the destiny of mankind
In the face of a pandemic caller Covid-19
Even of it takes your life
Thank you!

While we quarantine and pray
Asking forgiveness for sins untold
You solemnly swore to defend our nation
To serve her with all your might
Against all foreign and domestic enemies
But today, it is a biological war we fight
Thank you to all military and para-military

Show me a Nurse in white
I'll show you a person who left hers
To ensure you are not plagued
Fatigued, overworked, but resolute
You took the Nigthingalish oath
To lay down your life if need be
Thank you!

Now you all know the magnitude of her sacrifice
When she and her team stopped Ebola
She should be accorded a national honour
Monuments and schools should carry her name
That the blood of our heroes past be remembered
And their sacrifices that we may live

The world, stopped by one virus
The pendulum suddenly stopped swinging
The sun refused to rise from the east
And set from the west, but spins northward
Right now, say a prayer for the world
That this plague may pass away
Lord, we are sorry, please heal our land

It's A "Yes"
Babatunde Raimi Mar 2020
You flirted with me
Delved away from known tradition
Yes, I loved it
First I was intrigued
I "kinda" like this
Especially when you smiled
I trusted you immediately
I dont even know why
I was happy, yet petrified

Oh! How you quickly got to my head
Love comes with heartaches
And I am willing to take my chance
Hei! If you are seeing this
I tell you, you are beautiful
And I'll love to see the inside
In my entire life lived
I never saw God's creation so beautiful
It's a "Yes"

When you looked into my eyes
I went totally numb
When you held my hands
I died, then i woke up, then i died
When I was very young
The Moon followed me around
Growing up I realised that
Every street has its own Moon
The same way every king has his own Queen
Just that you know, again
It's a "Yes"

Stay Alive Brother
Babatunde Raimi Feb 2020
A Poem: Stay Alive Brother (A Poem Against Domestic Violence On Men)

If you do the crime
You'll do the time
Stop killing your spouses
A man is naturally flirtatious
If he opens the bonnet of another
Why not check yourself

The boys are speaking out
Broken boys turn broken men
The men are now speaking out
Don't let her get to you
If you can't take it anymore
Please take a bow

With fire power you reign curses
Decapitate and maim them
You cut them in their prime
Just because of jealousy
No longer shall we be quiet
Guys, if you must, sign the dotted lines

I would rather be single
I would rather be a single Dad
Than be with you, an abusive partner
There is more at other side
Marriage is like admission
You desire Unilag and end up in Kogi

For better for best it is
Not for better for death
Wake up! My friend
Lest you want to answer from the other side
Stay alive brother
Report all domestic abuse

So, before you pop the question
Be sure to also ask
"Will you stab me?"
Never again shall a brother fall
To the uncontrollable anger of a spouse
You have been advised! Be wise!

In the animal Kingdom
Where the Lion reigns Supremo
Sometimes he wears the garment of mercy
Have we not been admonished as humans
To learn from animals?
Especially under perrogative of mercy

All we need is a will
To do that which is right
Why did 106 countries abolish it?
Especially developed countries
How long will we remain savage
We say "No" to death sentence

From ashes to ashes
From dust to dust we shall return
But must we be the hangsmen?
A strand of hair we cannot create
Raise your voice, not your guns
Together, let's say "No" to blood for blood

If death penalty stops crime
The world will be free of crime
It is man's inhumanity to human
It is callous and ungodly
I support punishment for crime
But for corrective purposes

Let he who is sinless cast a stone
None will cast the stone
Thou shall not ****, thou shall not ****
Whoever kills in cold blood
Shall die in cold blood
Never again, love leads

If God killed for all our crime
Only Angels will dwell on earth
Maybe not even Angels
As satan was once a celestial Angel
Why play god without a heart
God at somepoint repented

Retaliatory punishment is not justice
Let us think restoration
An eye for an eye diminishes us as humans
As citizens of the world
Like slave trade, let death sentence stop
Every soul matters to Divinity

An eye for an eye is evil
Not all sentenced to death are guilty
Some appear guilty but innocent
Must we pay evil for evil?
Women that engage in abortion
Men that waste their seeds
Doctors who decides who lives and who doesn't
Shall we also sentence them to death?

Whether by hanging
Firing squad or lethal injections
It is a gross violation of right
Everyone deserves to live
Please, live and let live
And if you **** another deliberately
May your endings be sorrowful
But not like this...

Favour
Babatunde Raimi Nov 2019
Favour is the cure for labour
Grace, the antidote for disgrace
Smart work liberates from poverty
What if you know what to do
But time is against you?
Just like in the exam hall
You know the answers
But your time is up
Friend, prepare for success

The hour has come
Bride walks in with her father
All through the aisle
While I wait anxiously
The the Pastor pops
"Do you promise to love her"
"To have and to hold"
"For better for best"
"Till death do you part"

As I say my lines, "Yes, I do"
Wear the rings
I hear the voice
"You may kiss her succulent lips"
How on Zeus green world did he know?
Hope will skip that dreaded lines
"Is there anyone here..."
I am afraid of karma
Lest my sins finds me

Low budget wedding
Bride and groom's parents
Two officiating Pastors
Best man and Chief Bridesmaid
Ring bearer and little bridesmaid
Just one witnesses apiece
Trust me, this is best time
To walk the aisle
Maximum twelve attendees

No invitation nor reception
No over-rated wedding planner
No decorator, just photographer
Son of man, be wise!
For the single and waiting
There is a beauty in Tragedy
This is so cost effective
Covid 19 inspired, limited edition
The time is now....

I Earnestly Need Help
Babatunde Raimi Jun 2020
I just ponder why
You never made a pass at me
How do I get laid?
When I don't have a date
I don't need to get paid
How you harbour so much hate

Are you afraid to cultivate?
Even as I asked us to copulate
Especially when I ovulate
My biological clock ticks
Like a flower it withers
No time to check time

If you aren't a sharp shooter
Loose my number and shift
I just need a life of my own
Someone I could call mine
Or, maybe, I just need counselling
I earnestly need help...
