all used up
No face to be proud of
And my pedigree's blown off;
Free hugs that no one notices,
A lips that beat white lotuses—
I'm no ones best
And everybody's last and less,
I'm only here existing,
Standing while breathing,
Into the world I'm blending;
Maybe my luck has long snuffed out—
Long used up when doctors pulled me out.
Once the bell tolls
And heavens listed my name,
Buy me eleven asters
And fly me to the stars—
Gift me a thousand pages too,
My companions as in the universe I flew.

smoke
Ephemeral gray
And harmful particles,
Spreading through the whims of breeze;
It's like a deal with the devil,
A portion of my life in exchange,
For calming the unknowns in mind.

my hall
In the bathroom I'll sing in the stormiest voice
And dance the weirdest of grooves;
This small space is my grandest hall—
Where masks of pride and shame fall.
You ventured out to the world
Made with white spaces and blackened words,
You lived a life like no other
And you wished that it was forever.

Ultimately, the pages are not infinite,
Once you opened its cover being lost is definite,
This is a curse of a good book
It leaves you naked in the freezing brook.

However, don't be too crestfallen
Because a story only ends once forgotten;
You can relive those happy moments
While once again, gently turning its pages.

If the first read lets you see the hero's will;
The second will let you witness the villain's tears,
And after dozens of adventures
You'll become part of that world's allure.
my favorite among my poems; wrote this for poem writing competition with the topic about books.
If you know the novel or manwha Omniscient reader's viewpoint then you'll see another perspective cause I used the book as an inspiration.

love is war
greatsloth Sep 15
Love should be done in equal control
Let us both hand over the lives we own;
Let her dictate mine and I'll write hers,
Like wars fought between greatest generals—
Lo, ****** battlefields turns into work of art.

simplest eyes
greatsloth Sep 11
Look at world with simplest eyes;
A child in wonder why black is night
Nor why does sun makes you blind—
Watch flowers in the field of rubbles,
Chase butterflies with love in mind;
To be free of spoilers and stereotypes,
O, child look at them with simplest eyes.

dream an absurd dream
greatsloth Sep 10
Dream of an absurd dream
And everything shall be a piece of cake;
To jump into the moon
Is harder than finishing school;
To win a queen, pure and everlasting,
Is more elusive than having a fling;
To live in immortality
Is much stranger than hugging your sanity.
Life would be really easy
Once ambitions flow into fantasy.
what's your most absurd dream? Something that wouldn't come true even if you die?

I got an empty canvas
And I need your hands of glass
To dye me in different shades
Of life; of joy; of pain—of your taste.

Let's make the stars as our topic;

We all know they shine
Like small gems in night,
But do you know a surprise?
They are alone most of the time.

In our lenses they could fit
In between each parting lips,
Close enough for them to whisper
How Earth makes her creatures suffer.

Yet, zooming in there's only void;
Maddening—is that why flares are deployed?
To cry for another cry
Only to echo until the end of time.

On the corner of your pages
I'll leave not my name
Nor my wretched face,
But a word of thanks

You let me read your stories
Shared to me your worries;
I somehow became part
Of your wonderful art

I would be greatly honored
If you saw my crooked words
And remember those times
That once our pages aligned—

Where laughters are easy to find
So did our cries and whines.

a bad day
greatsloth Aug 27
You tripped off your feet
Then stepped on something that pip,
It goes boom; and you go woom!
You reached the heaven,
But got rejected—
So you entered hell,
Full of wiles, trying to be
The villain in their eyes;
Yet, Satan was out of the house
Fighting angels and God for wows;
With no choice Charon ferries you
Back to where the happy are few.

and so chaos...
greatsloth Aug 24
I saw a bird the size of whale
It has wings like clouds
And eyes like the dipper stars;

I want to run mountains,
Climbing peaks with each step
With no sweat as I reached Everest;

******* is not a bull that ****
Like how chaos and mayos rhymes
But don't taste the same;

Anarchy, I understand not antipathy
Though I'm full of empathy
That is not present with any of my aunties;

Oh mind, you rocked tonight
Thus dreaming of a life with light,
Tomorrow is another fight;

Present within, dumb and intelligence
I'll gather them once
And they decided, I'll live how I want.

greatsloth Aug 13
I saw your face
And thought an angel,
The sun has fallen—
You shine so effortlessly,
With a heart of gold
Brighter than any other,
And even blessed with a laughter
So contagious it makes the dead chuckle;
You've captivated me
My eyes set you as the prize,
But I know I'm destined for bronze
That is why the delusions must end—
Maybe in the next life
I can make you love me twice.

Stuck on your ruffled sleeves
Can I pry them off
I'll try not to let our skins touch
Cause I too am trying to forget
The warmth that I've felt
greatsloth Aug 9
Rainy days make me contemplate
What if I took her warm embrace
What if we shared our dreams and fears;
It is the cold that whispers,
Lonely tunes of an old radio,
Waking up emotions of faded hue;
The thought of you and me
How lovely would it be
If I could lean on your shoulder
As the weather turns colder.

Stars looked like glowing sands
Down here—far, far below;
Cities too radiate a blinding hope
Gazed beyond the fields and hills;
Beauty oozes out of a distant thing,
Meter and miles allures the mind.

The white, fluff tears of the skies
Halts the youth and fires

Or would he sigh and lament

Yet his neck wouldn't stop

imagine you met God
greatsloth Jul 30
Imagine you met God after your end
You bowed in reflex 'cause the prophets did
You crawled to His toe like a loyal dog
But, when you look up into His eyes
You can't see any praise
Only twisted face of shame.
I'd like to think that God made us to tell Him a story—the unique story of our life. If that's the case then do you think He would enjoy listening to your stories when all of them are about him?

Satan is tired from all the blames;
You're the one that sinned,
Not the evil lonely him.
Don't say you were tempted—
All he does is howl
Like his tortured crowd.
His whispers are loud,
Far from a soft mistress' moans.
He's not the one to boast
Nor does gold glitter in his eyes—
Only flames and sacrifice.
He's the full wrath of evil,
And he has a God to defeat.
He doesn't care if fools like hell's heat.

Summer nights had lost their luster
As a million fireflies dim their embers;
Only in nostalgia could we glance
Those scenes where they once danced

Lost are their glimmer—
The forests mourn their partners
For they've taken its tiny souls
Mystic glows that made them whole

Their embers were put to rest,
And murk swallowed these blessed;
Their shine that wanes to bloom
Now forever sleeps in gloom.
I saw a post about that we might become the last generation to see the beauty of fireflies, so well... I made this.

My life is too quiet
Yet I never met solace
For in this silence
My thoughts propagate
Happiness until hate
They're breaking my mindscape
Yearning to be heard
Out in the landscape
But I have none to share this burden
Flowers wilt and birds fly away
Loneliness is my only company
I'm silenced to misery
Left only with a single wish
A creature that feeds upon
My overwhelming thoughts

prey that roams free
greatsloth May 31
In this jungle of variety
I try to be a deer;
Grass, salt, and my feet
Are all I need to be fulfilled
Yet, why is the end
To be prey—that meat on the tray
When all I've done is to roam free

But, when I become the tiger
Animals growl at me, they say
Stop, herbivore you should be
Not a predator, instead
A prey that roams free.

You felt your being was crushed
By their gaze, by their says
Being beneath them, you hate
Them being above, you abhor
What should you do
To remove the stain in you

It's easy
Don't place yourself below
Don't raise your head to see
They are but a stain
Bleach them away
And wear that pride

'Cause only in death
Should you put yourself down.

Asking Alice
greatsloth Mar 25
Someone has thrown another coal,
It asked me to burn my worst
Bewitched by illusion
Like the little match girl—
But isn't that the dream I seek
To dive into the hole like Alice did
So was me being awake
Really the best that it could be;
Can't I stay here burning
Until the sun I became?
greatsloth Mar 22
A flower does not seek why it bloomed
Nor does it ask why its petals are blue;
Time under the clear sky is alive,
Weathering storms can mean something
Though they're all likely nothing
To the aster who doesn't have a midlife.

my desire
greatsloth Mar 20
If my desire of immortality
Was not delivered on Tyche's oak desk
And my neck accepted Death's penalty,
Make my funeral transient and modest.

Do not dump me bunch of would-wilt flowers
Nor weep with salty tears upon my earth
Instead scatter me some seeds of asters
For when they blossom it is my rebirth.

Though if God of Wishes grant me this dream,
Erase my name from your reminiscence
As I have ventured out this weary realm—
I'm with the stars flaunting my omniscience.

Either way I'll try to end it laughing,
A fitting mood for my new beginning.
greatsloth Mar 19
This moment is just a dream,
An illusion of a greater being
And once the cold death
Gave us it's warm embrace
We will fall into silence
As we wake up to see the reality.

If so, then why plague your mind with worry?
If this is just a dream, then why are you experiencing it in tragedy
When you can easily make it into comedy.

Bound by Words
greatsloth Mar 18
You see words the same way I do,
With eyes that glow in yearning,
With heart bursting at the seams—
My comrade, you are.

We traverse these dimensions
Of black and white,
Where the smell of papers
Lingers into our lives.

Each smile is a memory,
A dream or an adventure;
We have bonds beyond reality
More precious than any treasure.

It is carved deep into our marrow,
Identical to the myths that we hallow,
The moment you read any prose,
Fate binds us as fellows.

Your mind and my mind
Like God's hands they intertwined,
Creating myriads of realities
That only we could realize.
Made for the AB month of our college.

She is that flower in pinkish-red hems
Blooming amidst the silent, withered stems;
She does not need any grace of water,
But pleased to tears that have fallen over

My hand trembles, I cannot pluck her roots—
She's too precious to be in worn-out boots;
Though it hurts, I'll hope there's a gardener
Who'll place her where light shines a bit kinder.

Midnight Solitude
greatsloth Jan 26
This darkness is mine
This coldness is fine
They are my prize
For fearing lies

Only to the starlights
And to the midnights
My lips curls a smile
Companions till my last mile

As exciting as crumpled paper
My existence's a water vapor
A field without vivid flowers
A tree with a fragile roots

My soul shall rest
With no tears to someone's dress
Write this on my epitaph:
Here lies the heart that did not love

80's
greatsloth Jan 15
If we're in our eighty's
And you thought of me
Relax and don't worry
Days have passed of me being weary

Now I'm floating, not in heaven
Nor purgatory and hell even
I'm one of the stars which the night livens
Smiling like when I was eleven.

A friend asked, “Where would you like to be buried when you die?”
While he looked to the ground
My eyes lingered upon the sky—
“The verdant grass makes me itch
While the bluest ocean is too deep...
The void meanwhile is quiet and without any life...
Isn't it perfect place to rest after I die?”
He laughed and said, ”That's crazy!”
And I thought:

You are the crazy
To live in this world of weary
And not escape, but instead be buried—
In my death I want to be free.
This is a little bit exaggerated convo of me with a friend.

that divide
greatsloth Dec 2024
In the midst of jolly red
I alone stood bit distant,
Aloof, and somewhat lonely

Merry is just an arms reach
Yet that gap felt like light-years
Among the crowd, I'm not one

I chose to let the cold seep
It built me my apathy
Supressing both joy and tears

But what sealed can be unsealed,
A hint of warm, long lost love
And I'll wish for stars collide.

when the dreamer dies
greatsloth Dec 2024
When the dream ends
And the dreamer dies
Would the world stop to mourn
Or would it continue its revolution;

With neither an impressive gun salute
Nor just a simple cry of sadness
How long until the warrior's song fade
Into the reality's cruel silence;

When the dreamer dies
He dreams of an eternal edifice.

Song of Others
greatsloth Dec 2024
Why do the songs
Of the fallen of love
Nibbles my heart
Yet I have never been loved

Why do the songs
Of the festival's dancers
Makes my lips jump
Yet I'm rarely filled with joy

Their slow and fast rhythm and beats
Invites my mind to imagine
A life that I didn't live
A life that I wouldn't feel

Their voices tell me stories
One that I shouldn't know
But on my mind will stay rent free
Until I grow into one dilapidated fool.

A Gaze Within
greatsloth Nov 2024
I realized, it's not the universe
Or the microscopic world
That a Human should look into,
We shall seek our soul
Hidden to the void we own;
Navigating through experiences
That are like storms in the sea
And, probably, we would realize
That maybe the greatest treasure of all
Is us, ourselves.

Dust had long settled on that heart,
It barely works and full of rust,
Though it was only used once
After a misery it was
Thrown aside like a trash;
It is an antique with no value
And never would have one
No matter how much time passes—
A piece that would stay on the shelf
Until it crumble into dust.

The sun's immolating heat
Couldn't reach me with this speed;
I drove faster than my problems' emergence
—I tasted the pleasure of smile after a while,
This moment, how I wish they would last for life,
Yet every asphalt road have an end,
Every machine have limited fuel,
And that much of speed is bound to ask for a break;
But though it ends
Let's still hope for another ride
That fate, to us, lends.

The Stars' Therapist

People dream of being a scientist
Meanwhile, I wish to be a therapist,
Not for the foolish mortals
But for the myriad-glittering stars;

Thousands of years apart
They're lonely, are they not?
I'd like to listen to their flares,
Be a being that for them cares,
And find a cure for their despairs.

Isn't that absurd?
A longing that this life couldn't approve.

Yet a brilliant way to make one never fade.
Beauty, money, and fame will one day vanish—but never a funny story.
