Everyday of our lives
We have tried not to hide behind the mask and just to be ourselves
Now we are all living behind a mask, everyday, being forced, to be someone else and to stay away...
He was a monster, but he was my lover.

Funny,  I can’t tell the difference anymore.
This poem is about being in abusive or toxic relationships where your partner is someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, however they still do terrible things. Leave a comment and enjoy❤️❤️
Let's swim about, Peter
Mimic my sound

Speak my language
You precious bottle-nose

The trouble you have
With the letter M
Sure makes funny bubbles
Beneath the surface

What then should we talk of
This morning?
Miss Kelly, perhaps

Every room
Is an island, my child

Never isolate your love

Let it run to the sea
It's where I will always be
Thomas W. Case's Historical Figure Poetry Challenge, Margaret Howe Lovatt. In the 1960s, she took part in a NASA-funded research project in which she attempted to teach a dolphin named Peter to understand and mimic human speech. This while living in a half-submerged dwelling to have continuous contact with him.
I fraternize with chicks
half my age because I
want to get laid and
feel young.

What difference does it make?
I'm already condemned.
There isn't a person in
this God-forsaken town
that hasn't tried me in
their mind and found me guilty.
Step mothers aren't real
mothers anyway.
My mother died when I was little.
Daddy remarried and couldn't have
cared less about me and Emma,
my dear sister, and the ax sharpener.
I was acquitted, and who can
judge me now?
By the way, the weapon was never
found, it's buried by my feeble
attempt at poetry.

Tried  a hand in writing comedy
Gave it to friend to read  ready
Awaiting what her response bears
I saw her eyes fill with tears
Felt happy with instant hit of comedy
She replied " your best of all tragedy"

I stopped writing comedy...
