Nurse the wings
of the broken bird

Care for it
as though you would
a newborn

Remedy the wounds
of the broken heart

Love it
so it lives to beat
the next morn

Capture me the sun
and I’ll worship you by day

Lasso me the moon
and I’ll turn the tide

Irrigate me an ocean
and I’ll drink to a stupor

Promise me time
and the seconds I’ll bide

Only Human

With yesterday
slung over one shoulder

And tomorrow
slung over the other

Today saw
the comfort of emotion

Today showed me
that I am only human

Our tale is of a cinematic love.
But darling, life isn’t a movie.

Our love is a cinematic masterpiece,
and just like all the good ones,
it must end.
near or far, my heart
will always be yours to hold
handle it with care
Please.
When I encounter,
Your bold hand,
Reaching out to me,
The passionate desire,
Brings me to my knees.
When we touch,
Forget me not,
The softness of a daffodil,
The innocence of a daisy,
The humility of a lily,
The connection of an iris.
The tiny, little seed,
Has grown to be,
Beautiful and strong,
Like the trunk of a tree.
This is my first poem. Comments and suggestions welcome!!!

Time holds me hostage
Thoughts of you slipping
Through concrete fingertips
Please
Just stay.

I hope I die in summer

on a humid night
when the grass is yawning and stretching out
toward the moon,

and the frogs are croaking on
like a chorus of metronomes
as the last curls of life wisp away from my body,

a final reminder
that things and time
will continue beautifully,

harmoniously,

without me.
