my biggest fear is you seeing me
the way i see myself—
the cracks beneath the surface,
the doubts i file away

i hide my flaws in shadows deep,
but what if you should find
the fractured mirror that i see
when i look inside my mind?
i really need to stop writing depressing poems
we hide grin,
Taking joy in loss, in pain, in sin.
Once tender spirits, now beasts of prey,
With ravenous hearts in disarray.

How far we've wandered, far we fell,
Their laughter blooms as virtue sighs.
Sadist jackals reign the dusk,
Sadist jackals haunts the place.

SADIST JACKAL
We live in a society full of sadist jackals
Congratulations, my friend!
We've come so far in this world…only to become sadist jackals.
Where death is no more a talk.

If only the characters I read about in books
Were actually alive

Oh how much more
Would I love this world
They just seem so much more-----relatable?
Whether this is because we are all the same and I get to see into their mind
Or because the authors are genius and they want me to love the characters
I don't know
I don't care
Bring them alive

People often ask
“What do you want to be?”
I know the answer they're looking for
Doctor, musician, cop
But ever since I was little
The answer in my head was always
“Happy”
Wake up in the morning happy for another day
When life isn't grey

When I go to the airport
I always wear a funny shirt
Because waiting in line is so dull
And I want to make someone smile
Maybe get a laugh
Maybe make a friend
Maybe make a day
Because why not?

Men
When I was young, I used to
Watch behind the curtains
As men walked up and down the street. Wino men, old men.
Young men sharp as mustard.
See them. Men are always
Going somewhere.
They knew I was there. Fifteen
Years old and starving for them.
Under my window, they would pause,
Their shoulders high like the
******* of a young girl,
Jacket tails slapping over
Those behinds,
Men.

One day they hold you in the
Palms of their hands, gentle, as if you
Were the last raw egg in the world. Then
They tighten up. Just a little. The
First squeeze is nice. A quick hug.
Soft into your defenselessness. A little
More. The hurt begins. Wrench out a
Smile that slides around the fear. When the
Air disappears,
Your mind pops, exploding fiercely, briefly,
Like the head of a kitchen match. Shattered.
It is your juice
That runs down their legs. Staining their shoes.
When the earth rights itself again,
And taste tries to return to the tongue,
Your body has slammed shut. Forever.
No keys exist.

Then the window draws full upon
Your mind. There, just beyond
The sway of curtains, men walk.
Knowing something.
Going someplace.
But this time, I will simply
Stand and watch.

Maybe.
I often think about
How he took you to
That filthy motel and
Made you bleed just
So that he wouldn't
One of my best friends got pregnant when she was a teenager. She was very scared, but wanted the child anyway. Yet her ******* boyfriend (the father) took her to a motel and made her do an abortion.
She never recovered and took her life within a year... no woman should be forced to do an abortion. Just as any woman should be forbidden to do one.

of
blue

wind upon wax wing
climb cloud up and down

above

the hedgerows the meadows the strands the things
we do not yet know the music to

until the sun whispers
it is time
