By facing death,
we embrace life more

We see the limits,
each minute core

Seen as a friend,
all life betroths

Each moment treasured,
our loved ones close

And when we face
that final day

A voice more gentle,
bids us sway

Into the dark,
one candle burns

Death’s welcome light
—for our return

(Villanova Pennsylvania: July, 2019)
When I stare at mirrors
My eyes disrobe the lies
And shadows of my mind
Til I'm left with emotions
Creaking on worn floorboards
Stepping into a noose
Kicking the insecurity out
And waiting to find out
If I died
Or was set free
//On anxiety and insecurity//

I'm learning that I am extremely insecure about myself and am terrified of loneliness even though I tend to keep people at arm's length.
She was pure

       and untouched;

           like the very first

        crystals of snow.

   Freshly budded rose and

             essence of lilac with the

                   fraility of a fallen leaf

   adhered to the sidewalk.

              He painted her soul

                  with his unique unprimaried color,

     and left her....

                        forever stained.
In addition to the slogans...
"Save The Whales,"
"Save A Tree,"
and
"Save The Oceans"

We need a new one...
    "Save A Poet"
