Funny how her hand
was gardener's green
But on one finger
there it gleamed
My daughter and her Love had been sick with March colds all week, but still spent Saturday planting in the yard and pulling old growth and weeds.  later before going out to dinner, they did the laundry together.
"Throw me that germ-infested red blanket on the couch!" he yelled-- the one  they had cuddled in recovery.  She picked it up to toss it down the stairs, and out fell the little box.  :)

Mirrors reflect the truth
sans embellishment
Built with fragile glass
So easily shunned,
so easily shattered

A lone mirror
hung up on a wall
to serve the pleasures of the vain
But when two
face each other
and manage to hit the right angle
Limitless images are formed
Miracle and magic! alone no more
You need two people for a party.  Finding that second person is the challenge.

Inception for this was largely inspired by this:

Archived sounds of
Modem’s tortured yodeling
Dot Matrix‘s Zzzzzzzzzzzkt; Thwick!
Zzzzzzzzzzzkt; Thwick!

The boop-boop-hoop-boop…
Of another’s busy phone. Or:
"35 cents for the next three minutes”
Chik-fwwwwrick-ka-ching-ing, kik-frwwwwrick-ka-ching

Back further: the
Thwick-bop-bob-bop
Thwick-bop-bob-bop-bop
Of a rotary dial

Further back:
The piercing
Berrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Of the 3am TV test signal

Why stop there?
Cha-clump; Cha-clump, Cha-clump; Cha-clump
Milk bottles rattle
Cream at the top
Milk truck’s come and gone

No more red balloons let go
Strangles wildlife of sea and land
Thought you should know

Oh, for the innocent days of balloons
birthdays, parades, life's bright cartoon

Back before we knew
Even our joys end the world
We are not right.  Sadly
