That One Guy
Hi
I'm tired and don't know what to do
I wish I could be with you
And give you a kiss or two
Writing a poem is what I put my mind to
How much I care for you is something I wish you knew
And is something that grew
Not kissing you would have been something I rue
I don't know what else rhymes... Moo

It was cold. And  quick.
Not the moment my heart was torn, but
The second it was put back together, so quickly.
So happily.
So lovingly.

I smiled in my mind sipping in your words
coffee in hand, poems warming my intentions
a day without poetry is not my cuppa tea
so much passion and emotion spilling forth
steaming pages to be fervently devour'd
      whets my appetite from within
fills my cup so it runneth over captivated in anticipation...

I see myself reflected back in creamy billows of frothy foam
fettered in the dark richness of your brew

Languishing in these moments, sharing so many views
fills my heart with gladness that we have collectively pen'd another day
a poet's ardent soul is meant to be shared and cherished
like prayers on gentle winds they float en masse on wing'd spirits

I do so on this glorious day as you earnestly flutterby...
Let’s pour a little salt,
flavor the Earth,
so She’s the only one to remember
that we were ever here.

2. I painted Care and Sympathy’s portraits,
and (falsely) titled it Love.
And you hung it on your wall to remind yourself
you weren’t entirely alone.
But I’m sure you’ve taken it down by now
and it’s sitting in a corner, under the white sheet of time.

3. And if I faced death today,
I would like to think
I could face him without flinching.
As long as he would strike quickly, in the head or the heart.
I shouldn’t mind at all.

4. He called me tiny dancer
even though I couldn’t dance.
At least not very well.
He still insisted on waltzing
in my parent’s kitchen
despite my stepping on his toes.
