Her creamy chocolate hair
Flows down into caramel,
And the ends tickle her rosy lips
As she bites them in concentration.
Her Ticonderoga taps anxiously on her cheek,
And the wheels turning in her head;
Almost visible.
Maroon sweater against ivory shoulder,
Caramel hair against a black bra strap.
When she talks, the room melts away
And all that is heard is her accent,
The way she creates music with her phrases.
Her smile radiates sunshine,
And her eyes are a kaleidoscope,
Always changing,
Green and gray and amber specks
Colliding to make a sweet mosaic.
Poetry girl,
The universe can’t wait to hear
Your words.

Alone

What I wanted you did not
the dreams I had were not yours
The beauty I saw you closed your eyes
What I tried to share you rejected

There is pain and there is nothing
I wanted the world
but you didnt want me
you didn't want anything
but to feed your underworld

So im lost, and alone
im on my own forevermore
Life will change
i will never be the same

my broken heart
will never beat the same
but I will live on
and find song to sing
and place to cling

and one day maybe you'll see
that I was there for you
that you ran, and thought your were free
but in truth is you just shackled yourself
because sometimes what we need,
is to help ourselves
The moon has a vision
of a quill and paper
resting upon a poets
writing table.

Upon the poets arrival
the window opens revealing
the table where inspiration
is birthed.

The poet becomes a
philosopher upon
the setting sun,
the mind burns with poetic
desire while the moon
bows and smiles with
delight.

Actions speak louder than words,
You wonder why I'm speechless.

So few people to truly listen.

You don’t decide who
Will make your heart race.
The corners of your lips just
Upturn so suddenly
That you only notice your smile
When you step forward and feel
The cement  pieces
Of a shattered frown
On the ground beneath your feet.
-what the first taught me
You see the slump in my shoulders
the way I carry myself
the burdens of boulders
that threaten my health.

When you ask what's wrong
I pull up my guard
don't want your pity or sad song
won't tell you why life's hard.

So if you want to know
I'll bottle it inside
wrap up all remains in a black bow
and tell you I'm fine.
