Sink into the
softest bits of my
skin

Let me bottle
the scent of
your t-shirt
after you have
held onto me

Let me be the
gentle waves
that rock you to sleep

(A simple love)
I love my friends dearly

pussy wept
And to dive into the ocean would be less exhilarating
Exhale with no chance of inhaling
Far below the surface, I cannot see
what lies ahead of me, what lurks beneath

Thrashing and flailing and pining for air
Searching for safety--alas, it's not there
Hopelessness conquers the will to be free
Open my lungs and concede to the sea...
of the fear of entering a relationship--the death of the individual as one enters a partnership.

within my own vicinity
i search for simple serenity
tending to my own tendencies
mending without amenities

sick and twisted remedies
a bitter sweet identity
my slit-wristed entities
the enemies of my memories
Writing about a wavering voice
As if I had a choice
A petulant songbird tale on the wind
We're praying for the night to come to an end* ....

Took a cherry blunt hit with yellowed fingers
The song writing sensibility lingered
Poured black coffee and wrote a tune on being comfortable at night
How a bad tooth kept me down
Teenage greasy haired full blown depression
Guitar in hand or within reach obsession
Chain smoking , acrid breath
Strumming through ashtrays to build a cigarette
Hiding in rooms
Scurrying away from crowds
Always the subject
Self medicated loner
Writing poetry then burning it
Having a friend then ruining it* ...

I once knew a girl that I couldn't take home
We shared the same likes , hopes and dreams -
but we were doomed from the start
Fell in love for a young lady from Alabama ,
then we kissed , smiled and broke each others hearts* ...

Here I am
Once again
Faced with the challenge of writing something new

Here I have
A clean slate
A brand new outlet to put myself into

A new piece to write!
A fresh new start!
Another chance to give all of my heart!

Yet
I struggle to find the right words to place
On this unfamiliar, empty space
And I slowly end up tearing myself apart

Because beginnings are always the hardest part
It's hard to start over
We all know that
               Being happy is
One of the surprised
                      Things we do
In everyday life of today
                But some of us
Don't have that happiness
                    Then we give up
On the wrong side
               Whether or not
There is a way to be happy
                  When it touched
Your soul and heart
                    To be filled
With all different emotions
               You imagine to be
Be 100% H.A.P.P.Y.
