Change for the better comes hard for most of us so we go the easy and reckless ways we’ve been taught…
Processed to pleasure our favorite foods, no regulations and absolutely no safety rules..
Modified cornstarch, mono dextrin and sugar affects us like *******. Another snack, another drink, I like my toxins plain, indeed I spend my food stamps on Coca-Cola and sugary things!
Bushels and bushels of fruits fortified with fructose! Lactose is is making us fat, and now our hearts have extra plaque.
There’s nothing safe on the shelfs at our stores, smell those baked goods near the front door.
Thank goodness, we have insulin to remove the sugar from our blood… There’s no need to resist the seed oil sludge. Oh yes and secondary moments that last too long, waste no time trying to get strong. I’ll have another ******* and a box of those delicious Dingdongs!

I do not want this seeing
that only drinks reflections.

I do not want this sight
that drowns me in images
while Your Face remains
forever just beyond
the final veil.

So I close my eyes.
Not out of blindness,
but hope—
that in the dark,
You may burn through.

And what a fire You are—
that the soul, not the eye,
must carry the light
to truly see You.

I speak to my dry bones today:
"There is more for you to do!" —
Dry bones,
there is more,
much more
Life;
Mistakes to master,
Peccadilloes to pepper,
Idle thoughts to ink through
So that they may align
With Your purpose —

What is it like to be you?
To see through your eyes,
To slip on your shoes?

Do you wonder about me, too?
Do you picture my life,
Consider my point of view?

Ah, reality.
A tricky little ****
In a suit of mirrors
To reflect what suits the beholder.

If time is a soldier
Reality is the battlefield
and the prize to be won
Or lost, as it were.
And we are.

Losing.

Flowers do wilt and die
It seems pointless, yes
But have you seen a bud?
Open its sleepy eyes to the dawn

As if a young child was letting out a yawn
With petals for hands reaching out to open skies
And the sun smiled at it
Telling it to open its arms without worry

I find myself
Looking more regularly
At the weather map,
Checking the chance of chills and drips
Or sunshine and fine sailing.

The percentages
Determine:
My attire: dress or pants,
Jacket or t-shirt, and snaz it up with lace?

But more importantly, it informs my shoes:
Heels, loafas...

Today, gum boots!

Especially while swimming in these storms.

He’s the devil and they’re in hell. The war has little soul left to sell. Starving, bombing, grinding them under, death camp of missiles and the heavy hand of thunder! No hope left and nothing new, the world just watches until it’s through.

Gregarious Gregg,
He could take lofty people,
Down a pegg.

On his travels, place's no-one went,
The thrill of a postcard,
From where was it sent?

There would be chatter,
Rumours of his return,
What stories would he tell us?
How green was the fern?

On our way to Glastonbury,
We walked into a pub,
The landlady looked at Gregg,
With love in her eyes, "free drinks for you and your friends"
Fun and laughter was had by all,
Outside we asked him,
"So what's the story?"
Gregg just smiling,
"I've never seen her before"

Gregarious Gregg,
Everyone listened to the words he said.
Passions would arise,
With that sparkle in his eyes.

On a road trip,
Around the Ring of Kerry,
A man thumbing a lift came into view,
It looked like Gregg, but just couldn't be
True!
No-one knew I was here, the odds didn't fit,
But, there he stood, that look upon his face,
"I thought you might be around"
he said.

The passing of time,
We all slide our different ways,
Things you think will never end,
Gently drift into the haze.

Occasionally I'll bump into an old friend,
We chat about old times,
Soon Gregg's upon our lips,
Never leaves our minds.

Maybe we should visit him,
He's only somewhere in France,
Or leave things as they are,
Firmly in the passed.

The last green leaf on the tree
And the labor-and-delivery nurse at hour eleven,
The ancient peeling bathroom wallpaper
And the old dog,
The third shift gas station attendant
And the 20-year-old converse at the back of the closet,
The moon in the morning
And the sun at night,
And me.

If I had a lot of money
I’d be worried,
the US Treasury has lost it’s currency.
If I were rich I’d buy land,
a place to home my fellow human.
I’d support peace efforts over seas.
Ukraine and Israel’s would have a special hit list just for me!
If I had Elon or gates money
I’d buy our government
and fire them all
and find honest people to install.
If I had the worth of the top one percent, everyone would own and no one pay rent..
But until I hit big I’ll do all I can
even the poor can win in the end!

Alone in the living room
Clean and bare legged,
I’m holding up my end of the bargain.

We always seem to meet this way,
In the quiet alien landscapes of familiar places after dark.
The day’s events have been embossed upon the air in double negative and committed to the house’s memory,
the subjects of future dreams for unknown sleepers.

What is it about the living room at night?
This place vibrates with implied movement, yesterday’s air has been spent and collected,
the new day’s fresh chaos has yet unsounded.
The quiet is so much deeper here in the in between.
It’s the quiet, then.
The quiet is what I’ve been seeking.

So I slow my breathing and wait.
We didn’t plan this, she and I. We never do.
If it is pitch dark early morning and I find myself waiting alone,
I know that I was called here,
That there is business to attend to.
She always shows eventually.

How have you been, she’ll ask.
I’ll take a moment to collect my thoughts.
It’s been far too long.

Like a fine automobile she runs beautifully,
flaunting a polished platinum exterior
and a freshly tune up engine.
Unfortunately
the junk in the trunk,
always rumble and thumps..
I often wondered what she’s is hauling and why she needs to dump.
