I will wait outside
because you've locked the doors,
battened down the hatches,
and prepared for a storm
but the day will come
when you’re not afraid anymore
and I’ll be where you left me
because I've always been yours.

The Lonely Remnants
Dear Me,
You ask only others if your work is good, you never actually trust in your own judgment. People have told you your writing is beautiful, so why don't you believe them? It must be the same reason you don't find yourself beautiful, because when you read your work or look in the mirror you wish it were different. For others to enjoy something even more the maker should be confident, so why aren't you? I hear you telling people who love you, you have no worth. I hear you telling yourself in the mirror you hate what you see. I hear you crying at night because of all the hate you hold for yourself. I hear you sitting in your bed gouging your heart out every night because you wish to be different. I've wrote to tell you to stop! When you do this you're hurting me the most, for I am the only one who's tortured by these sounds, for I am the only one forced to hear them everyday. Please stop, for you are killing me! I don't want to suffer anymore...... Please, I can't take this pain much longer. I know you're stronger than this! So please, please....... Please......just stop.

Together,
a word I dislike,
for he has left
and gone.
You made
a promise to me,
yet I'm all alone.
Oh God,
please help
me.*

...
Just thoughts.
A prayer.

there are no more games to play
no more running around in circles
until our heads spun
and our legs gave out
under the weight of our laughs
no more twirling under
the sun at noon
with nothing
but the sounds of the forest
to be our tune

we left it all in the dust
slowly crawling away
inside our under-lived lives
until we were so far removed
from that swirling stream
of long honeydew days
that we could not even remember
how it felt to run barefoot in the rain

There's too
Much light
In your soul
To hide my
Heart
In the dark
Anymore

There's too
Much kindness
In your eyes
To continue
My sadness
In the darkest
Nights

There's too
Much love
In your smile
To cover mine
In the shadows
Of time

In moments of silence
She wonders if
she knows love

Fear is such a comfortable
emotion for her
does she feel anything else

Taught shame...

She wonders if
she will ever overcome
self-hatred

Maybe love's illusions
are all she knows

Sometimes...
Yes, sometimes
she hates those
moments of silence

Still...
She struggles
hoping
that she knows
more than just the illusions
of love

I was driven
to repeatedly return
to the 'literal' place of my past.

It was like an obsession!
                  I marched there
                     each day
                        looking ..

but for what I wasn't sure.

So I returned
again and again,
  eyes scanning
   mind rewinding
    in the hope,

that something would connect,
offer a piece of the puzzle

a piece of my past ..

           or just ..

                peace.
I recently recalled the time I became obsessed with the place I used to live as a child ( not far from my home now. )
I didn't realise it but I was looking for answers.  I never found them.

It was innate
My ability to resonate
Thoughts upon my birth

When I was a child
My mind ran wild
Over Heaven and Earth

As a teen
You best mind, I was mean
Not much, my thoughts were worth

As a married man
My mind did span
Until my first child's birth

Then it started to slip
My mind did rip
And began to spill upon the Earth

Now that I'm old
Thoughts I can't hold
What are memories worth

Where are my car keys?
What?
