Sally A Bayan
(fourteen lines)

Their faces and tiny fingers filled my cupped hands
but, they're all grown now...on their own, they strive to stand
and hold shape...further from my warm hands...
still, they're shielded from whatever is harmful out there
rain or shine, they're raised high, safe from  murky water
somehow, it seems, i can't contain them much longer
but...they don't have to know
carefully, quietly, i will have to let go
here...today... i open my palms wide
my fears, my reservations, i put aside
and  from my cupped hands, down...they glide
like toddlers, shrieking while they slide
spilling continuously...like sand
leaving me...with empty hands.

Sally

I thought it would come true
A fairy tale of us
Some wishes, some dreams for you
That pain would never last

You were my knight and angel
I was just a refugee
When the crazy thing came upon us
It's the only thing I can see

We danced and sang under the moonlight
I even slept on your arm
We played and ran along the shore
With you I felt no harm

The seashore used to be our playground
The waves became our guests
The wind and rain witnessed our vow
I thought t'was the end of our quest

Until this day that I wake up
I found myself on this shore
I've waited, my knight and angel
To be with you forevermore

But sad am I, I found out
It was just a fantasy
There beside me was an old book
Now the truth is in front of me

Was our love  just a fairy tale?
Is there no chance for you and I?
The kind of love I just imagined
I will keep in my heart 'til I die.
For those who daydream...
Poetry to me is the expression of one’s own heartbeat.
Just as its rhythmic presence fluctuates or subsides at different intervals of our lives.
Poetry is universally recognized by all.
There is an immediate touch
Melancholy
Yesterday
Tomorrow
Skulking somewhere in the deep
The voices echo
Through my head
The voices are foreign
I cant quite make out the sound
But you are here I know
Please kiss my love
I say to you
Kiss the thought I have so new
In the shadow of the dawn
There was the touch
That everyone looks toward
The light...

My twilight poetry

Your're like a
Tree
Your branches are rough
Refering to your
Skills of showing off
Impressing
When your leaves are
Green
You become greedy with
Money
When theres a point your 're
Old
you can snap easily
If somene holds you
The wrong way
During fall you
Change your self
To red or fury
Yellow to mellow
Not giving a care in the world
Orange to be sweet and calm
Overall
You never speak
That's exactly
How a tree is
I could hug you tight
But  maybe you won't
In return

WET
The porch is all wet
Heaven's wrath bellows, falls wet
Pours like mad...i'm wet!

Rain, pain...keep eyes wet
Pen is fueled, drenched...too wet
Ink blots....paper's wet

Moist wind makes head wet
Wounded heart speaks... mind's soaked wet
My muse, dripping wet...

under my skin
high tension wires
they crackle and singe
the hair on my arms
burning inside
making roadmaps on my
throat and belly
leading

nowhere

the words are singing

an a cappella high note
bursting my eardrums
shattering glass

the fragments shimmer
and filter out into
the ionosphere
hang there
to rival
the

aurora borialis

the words are singing

their song of mermaids
their siren song

i crash on the rocks
i tear the paper
with a
rudderless ship
and the words
skitter
off the page

like lizards**

I'm not sure if my wifi network
will be working properly
We've been having trouble

This poem was screaming for release

It's the last one for a while
I want to read more

Please forgive me if I am slow
The company is coming out
to look at the server
but I never know when my server
will be working

The promise
of tonight
stirs within

Let it
soon
begin
5pm, Saturday. #10w

Under the orange
street lights
it's 3am

Longing to find him,
she skulks alone
in the dark

And as London sleeps
her cries go unheard
by all but one
The other night, I woke up to the calls
of a red fox outside of my window. They sounded
something like http://youtu.be/gVLvw-LhWyQ

I am happy to grow old
Getting older means
Getting closer to you
Just want to grow old with you.

Much as the Second hand promised
To see the minute hand in 60 seconds
The minute, the hour hand in 60 minutes
And the hour to see the day in 24 hours
And the day to see the week in 7 days
And the week in four to see the month
The month to see the year in a dozen
Which year swore to the decade in a Ten
And the Decade told Century to wait for a percentile
Much as the dawn promised to come again
And the Tears to camouflage in the rain
Much as the road promised to never end
And waves dared shake our love my friend
Much as watered Roses promised to bloom
And your smile to outshine all the gloom
Much as eternity is never assured
And no broken heart completely cured
Much as weather holds the unreliable tone
And world believes nothing's cast to stone
Much as the roosters promise to always crow
And the king of the jungle to loudest roar
None ordered my heart to make you mine
No day ever promised the moon will shine
But my feelings as tall and strong as the pine
Will never be averted but probably thine

I've read two poems about kissing today
Something I read about each other day
I've read about insomnia and sad rhymes
I've heard the bell of memory ring to hard times
I've read about poems titled three and eleven
I've read about a child expected to be in heaven
I've probably read about Tenth Avenue North
I've read so much today, for all It's worth
I've read about the rain in Karachi, poetry and trance
I've read about fate, destiny, hard work and chance
I've read torture, sadness and heavy grief
And somewhere somehow It's all but relief
I've read about flies patterning samun's window pane
Soon as she opens, I've read about a poet's pain
I've read as far as the trending, "Drunk a few "
I've read so many and more are still on the cue
But I've realized in all of them there's this one thing
I've read without tiring because I've read me
Spread on the white pages of hallo poetry
I guess It's true what they say
About the poet being one thing as the poetry
Some are and some ain't okay

She undressed in front of the mirror
Then stared at it once again
To that amazing canvass for years
To it, painted every emotion
Every pain, every laughter
Yes, both her joy and sadness
The storms she has faced
The mountains she has climbed
The seas, the rivers, the lakes
Every wave she passed
But the most beautiful painting
Was the man holding a glass bird
It is there, where she can hear her heartbeats
That painting...
