short legs
patched jeans
kicking leaves
piled to my knees

remembering color
living in sea salt pines
leaves little to imagine
of autumn rhymes

sweetgum sourwood birch
sycamore and dogwood
apple leaves beneath the plum tree
ash hickory maple and oak
mountains afire in Tennessee

eyes closed
smell of smoke-
kicking leaves
to the wind.

Automn opens her eyes ever so
Slightly; earth toned irises within
The green mirror of a summer
Dozing off, her awakening reflected

In human breath now visible upon
Chilled evening air, and
Lovers' fingers seeking closer
Shelter within the shared

Pockets of each other.
You ask what the doctor said,
But I have sweeter fish to fry
Than worry; such sensations

As the way your skin is the
Softest I have ever felt against
My own surface of scars and hair,
And how I'm looking forward to

October auburns, bronzes, yellows
And sepias. All in contrast to the
Whites and magnolias of the
Winter that follows their blossom,

And the excuses the coldness
In their wake presents to lean
Closer. Huddle up. Warm hands
Under garments, share blankets

With the least innocent of
Intentions. I love the subzeros.
Frost. Goosebumps receding under
A kiss. And another. And another.

I opened my eyes this
Morning,
I saw the world
As a collection of words.

"I see a tree"
A life of ruffled skin
Breathing in
So we may breath out,
Life comes & goes
Does it weep
No
Because life carries on

"I see my wife"
She Smiles
Warmth
I see in her eyes
And I know why
I Love her
She has a heart
That beats both
Life
&
Love
She shares the beats equally as one.

"I take a drive"
My child plays with the wind
Through an open window,
Air,
=
Laughter,
=
Me happy,
Of the innocence
That she finds in the wind
A plaything to enjoy,
*I Awoke And The World Changed
In the village haat
our hands collide
my left with her right

a moment’s flirt
she by my side
in the paraffin light!

Comes to close
she quickly goes
blushing shamed

how she knows
bloomed a rose
to be never named!

Let me not to the intuit of true poetry
Cast aspersions. Art is not art
When it conceit finds,
Or bends with public senses
To be misused:

Oh, no! Tis an unfinished tome,
Of written prose fixed on ink and stone,
A beacon for generations to behold
Spoken for itself
And never owned.

Verse and prose yield not
To times whims,
Though ink stained digits
Decay within
Her sickled blade
Reduceth all to dust.

Our compulsion alters not
With her frigid certainty
But endures it out, even
To the edge of eternity.

   If this timeless effort 'folly,'
   And upon me proved,
   I have never lived
   Nor no one ever
   Truly mused.

I thought I would transform my favorite Sonnet of 'Love' into a Sonnet for our shared passion.  I hope William would approve.

Have your bad day.
I'll be either strong enough
For us both, or
Weak with you.

These are the times
Of butterflies and honeydew,
Adventure and laughter,
******* of the kind

That makes the left side of
Grown men numb.
Popcorn and sofa cinema,
Good days and some not so.

Go ahead. Have your bad one.
It comes with the package,
And I don't need you to be tear-
Free, to love you.

Stain my best shirt.
Worry me with a frown.
Cry me an ocean of tears, be
Afraid that I'll leave, shake
If you must, with your every fear.
Just don't ever believe that
I'll drown.

Have your bad day, princess.
Have a year of them.
Just make me aware of them.
I'm the knight in white at
Your side to stay.
Challenge me;
I need scores of dragons
To slay.
Senk skuldrene, Helene.
Du er i verdens tryggeste hender.

Here is a tale of a dog and a cat
And a *** bellied pig, so pink and so fat
Of days in the garden alongside a farm
A whimsical story of magic and charm

The dog as he was of bushy descent
Yellow in color where ever he went
Digging a hole was his prime source of fun
As a matter of fact he had just finished one

The collar he wore was a leathery find
With studs made of silver so brightly it shined
His tail ever wagging, a happy old guy
He hung with is friends as the hours passed by

The cat on the other hand, sleek and so fine
A coat made of orange with stripes it combined
Cleaning a habit I see in all cats
But this one was special for it wore a hat

A tiny straw chapeau with fine feathered brim
A ribbon of pink that was wrapped round her chin
Though not really sure if a cat finds the style
But more as I looked I would bet that she smiled

And there to her left with a snort and a grunt
Was a portly built fellow the legs of a runt
Fine wispy hair that did cover the skin
With a gather of long ones that hung from his chin

Puffing along an attempt to keep pace
The dog and the cat and the pig they would race
Faster and faster they’d run through the fields
Though what was the secret of friendship revealed

None were the same as they differed and so
Still bound together a’ running they’d go
Never before as I think about that
Has a dog or a pig ever friended a cat

For ever so prissy, no memories jog
A cat who was friends with a pig and a dog
Though still I could see right abreast of my eyes
These three companions did bring the surprise

What is the moral of all that I see?
It sure does not matter of your company
Whether a dog or a pig or a cat
You can make friends with whomever you chat

People are different in color and race
But everyone seems to be wearing a face
A face that can smile, a face that can cry
A face that can hello or even good bye

If only we look at each other the same
Will we find fortune in learning their name
No matter the differences that we might see
It pays for each of us to every time be

Nice to each other and all things like that
Just like the dog and the pig and the cat

I put my palm out
Fingers,
Alone,
Yearning,
Would anyone
Hold onto me,
Would There be
Someone to make
Me more
Than
I am
I waited in vain,
About to pull my hand in
Lonely,
But a tip of a finger touched
Then a
Palm,
Hand,
I held on, never letting go,
And from that moment,
I knew I was never again going to be alone
I reached out for love,
And you touched my
Heart as soon as are *palms closed..

I count the grains of sand between my toes
Each represents small details in my life
Over time,  they've slipped through my fingertips
landing at my feet
The roughness reminds me of all that I have learnt
yet the coolness of them combined,
flowing through my inquisitive fingers reflects the moments,
like this,  that I'll treasure.

Your smile is the poetry
I was never able to write
For it never had words
An honest expression of your soul
Unmatched radiance across your face
Poetry which is most eloquent
Recited from your heart to mine

My shadow
"Where do I start"
Never controlled
Even though a part of me
Trips,
Tricks
Ogling
Up a ****** less skirts
Direct to my cerebral cortex
I walk in to a lamp post
HD fluff is seen
Then stars
(+
   +)
(+
      +)
As my shadow laughs silently,
People not noticing I'm
Standing tall
While my shadow
Bent over,
A wet patch of laughter's tears
Where he has just been seen,
But its not always bad
The bullies used pick on me
Skinny,
Short,
Glasses,
As I could hardly see,
Punched
Kicked,
Spat,
Upon, more times than I could think,
My shadow
In silence,
Shadow boxed the other shadow you see,
Never touched by me,
But felt every hit upon his
Shadow form,
Never did I abuse
Only in self-defence
Would it aid me,
But time moved on
10 years old,
Teens,
Twenties,
Always being naughty
Was he
Laughter he made
But mischievous
Always getting us into mischief,
But He is always with me,
My silent
Friend,
Protector,
Brother,
For though he does not speak,
I know what he means
My shadow and me stuck together
Our secret that no other can see...
