Traveler
Beneath every fallen star
There's a flickering light
Behind every wandering eye
There's a will to fight
Between you and I
The poetry flows
Bled from our pens
Forged in our souls

Your's are the words
That stir the soul
Rhymes and riddles
Beautiful flows
The heart beats with passion
The mind's eye travels deep
And as we power down
Our new friends
We pledge to keep...
thirty years is too thick a cobweb
says the Shepherd at the Bourne
though I know you're looking for her youth
and you aren't alone
how old was she? twenty?
red bindi and sari on head
newly wed ravishingly pretty
but no negatives I'm afraid
a few come up these creaking stairs
love's martyrs long survive
hold fore me their hearts bare
count on my archive
like you they seek that fateful face
where time stands evergreen
lost path invites one more retrace
a rewind to youthful skin
I tell them time's too thick a cobweb
with you I too grieve
sorry sir I have no negative
nothing's left to retrieve.

But
Yes I live in the South Country
Where I grew up as a child
Where I wandered the fields and the forests
And studied life in the wild
I wander the unknown paths
In sunshine and in rain
Smell the fragrance of the Heather
And underfoot crushed wild thyme
This is my place
My escape from a dying world
You can bury me here in my South Country
With a tree standing over my grave
I need no long drawn out service
Just a place that nature has made
Hold to the reins of Love and don't be afraid.
Hold to the real behind the false and don't be afraid.

You must know
that the beloved you seek is none other than you.
Hold to this truth and don't be afraid.

I couldn't love you
the way
you deserved.

The time was against us
The prophecies were told
too soon
too wrong
to be true
too soon too swift too sorrow; and
I was afraid you couldn't
handle
The Future!

The
Only real voice
The only real vocation
Was of our hearts pleading:
Do - travel together !
Upon this only true Path
I ever knew would

Blossom effervescent joys

Green leaves trembling in cosy warm winds
branches offering us a shadow no matter day
or night or the Moon or this storm or the Sun
who knew no fear
who loved in colours
who to me ~was so dear!

We loved and we dreamed

And we laughed
As children do

Pine sparks burning
Tickling
Each-other's fire-flies

We loved the essence
Of a total freedom
sealed hand in hand. . .

The lovers freedom ~
never forgotten friends
and the trustworthy skies.

Stars were watching over us
and all the clouds ~ were angels of love
landing softly, soft, upon our shoulders
Amor !
Striked us in a cold cold night
Having a silent debate
With giggly winks
and embraced
nonchalances;
pionirs of a
romantic
fresh air;
mountains,
love beams, power steps
sprouts and cosmonauts
of misssed
little
nostalgia

Spinning in a spinn
of you ~ who were me ~ my beloved!
to dance to explore to eternity
hike
paths
together

. . .and i just. . . i just. . .
I couldn't love you
the way
you deserved.

And you knew She'd be more loved
With us, happier within our arms
To hold you
To hold
. . .
Our extraordinary Love

Love found
Us ~ a miracle in the old city lights
by my friend's mirage music collection
Under those lovely archaic stone arcs
You wrote to me on a little paper
A word I had to solve
I wrote: after. . . .
And we found each other!

In the Stars Fair
Sometimes it's falling
Lost in the dark

My love,
Mingles with millions of stars
Same but hundreds of thousands of light in the line

Who are given
What I have found
But all I have taken

Among thee who am I
Even where are you
Or maybe known to me as the North Star

Lost within everyone
Beyond the known path
Apart from the light

Footprints fade out in the same path
Still spots on the shadows
Even yet it's called the galaxy

At night rise, to the buzz of my son’s blood,
I wake and blow aboriginal dust from my lungs,
Get up and take a turn around the house.

The place has gotten cold.
This ****-eyed family – good God, they are helpless.
I tried to help by leaving things behind,
Like this prayer on the wall
About the timelessness of beauty.
And did you find the poem
About Freud and mountain climbing?
All they do is wail privately
And try to pass it off as singing.

My son sleeps like a chessmaster,
Shocked into resignation.
He dreams about me,
And his dreams are riddled with light
And longing for the past.
Such nocturnal naiveté.

But he knows the stars
And because, like the ancient Greeks,
He can follow them home,
He will leave this place before it leaves him.

This house gets smaller all the time.
Still, the furniture breathes quietly,
And the dancers in the tapestry sway
Though faded by the sun.

The dust from my breath settles down in layers.
Pale light silvers the living room mirror.
My steps leave footprints before each foot falls.
The footprints lead back to my door.

It is time to lie down.
Soon my son will wake up,
And shake off the ashes of sleep.
I don't live here any more.
My death will begin again.

So I follow you.
Like I have been for the past three nights.
Only this time you walk toward where I want to take you.
My sanctuary awaits your screams along side the others.
You seem to be oblivious of me.
My moment has arrived.
Not a soul watching but me.
When you turn the corner is when I will make the grab, the hook, the capture that quenches this thirsty urge!
As we turn the corner I find that you are no longer there!
I also find that I have been captured instead!
All along I was the one being followed!
I was the one being followed

I patched the sky in wishes,
White birds flew by.
I prayed to rain in stitches,
Puddles bubbled alive.
I saw a lone flower drinking,
And said I see you shine.
I prayed to the stars blinking,
And offered my blood to moon.

If I look long enough I'll see
mammoth bones with butcher marks,
a broken flint blade between the ribs
- an empty crib, Madonna's face, a swan
on a snake with two heads - instead
of lightly stained pine grains
on the back of a dusty shelf half-
full of myself, old books and odd things
with lost words waiting in the wings.
