It is out of the heart’s cavernous longing and furious search
for love, significance, acceptance, approval, identity, security,
freedom, belonging, innocence, intimacy and transcendence—
out of its primordial memory of what was lost to us in the Garden—
that we begin to ***** idols for ourselves.

Unconsciously we hope they might restore to us a taste of paradise,
taking away our fear and shame and isolation.
We yearn to go back but, alas, we cannot get in from there.
We ache to connect to beauty, to be desired by it as much as we desire it,
and Jesus is the only door by which we may enter.
He is the Beauty, and all the rest are simply there like pealing bells
to arouse our hearts to Him and tell us that He is coming for us.

Still, as if we haven’t quite yet heard and believed the message, we keep
aimlessly trying to forge a false righteousness through our false gods.
When they are lost or the dreams of them unrealized we are devastated,
for the shadows, echoes and reflections we had supposed would finally
make us feel good about ourselves have been exposed as frauds,
and once again we are left to feel naked but without fig leaves to cover us.

It is at these precise moments, when the bottom of our false hope falls out,
that we are best prepared to encounter Christ in His intimate
fullness and most apt to recognize at last that He alone is
everything we have been so desperately wanting.
It is our boiling point, where the unbearable weight
of failed expectation so crashes in on us that we are finally
begging God to lift our idols off of us and deliver us from them,
pleading with Him to come and capture us,
crying out to Him to possess us fully.

I cannot fit in these circles they build me
I cannot be bullied outside my reality
I cannot be dragged in their dark tunnels
I cannot be drugged inside their quarries

                         FOR
When all fades away the 'self' has to be whole
When all shades the 'self' within has to reconnect
The 'self' has it's own shell that crowns it's life
The 'self' is an open field shielded from the storm

My 'self' will not indulge in the mediocre cranes
My 'self' will not be spotlighted for egoistical tunes
My 'self' redeems as it condenses in the mist of the dew
My 'self' is my ultimate repentant, a repellant from the norm

Lost in these venomous streets
Lights light up my sky,
I got  lost in the white clouds
It was a failure of mine eyes.

Walked through these streets different times
But they still seem foreign ,
I got lost trying
to reach the edge of the cliff
I fell off trying to catch  my own cloud
Got lost again trying to see beyond the horizon.

I reached the end with no prospects of tomorrow. Joined the hole in hopes of
Salvation,I got lost again in the fists of sin

Hopeless , life seems like an undying rose.
Am trying to survive but I am lost
Tell me how does one survive when everything is lost.
This world will never be sufficiently satisfying, but it will always be unfair and in that unfairness being lost is one of the privileges amongst many others.

The Struggle
( inspired by the quote: No man is an island onto himself)

It hurts to not find the right words that you want to say.
It hurts when you see mostly clouds of gray.
It hurts out to be caught out in pouring rain.
It hurts to be in constant pain.
It hurts to smile and not complain.
It hurts to feels stuck in the desert while desiring to climb a mountain top instead.
Sometimes it is difficult to just get out of bed.
It hurts to be sensitive in the midst of an uncaring world.
It hurts to ask for help when preferring to do tasks by yourself.
It hurts to be hanging on while needing to let go.
It’s a struggle because through surrendering you can open up the heart to a new level of Love, joy ,and peace that you may have never experienced before.
You don’t need to be a lonely island kept away and isolated all by yourself.
You and I don’t need to walk all alone on this journey called life.
inspired by the quote: No man is an island onto himself.

Tell me what is most real to you today;
what makes your heart beat faster, moves your soul.
Put what completes your world out on display.

Your triumphs and your struggles on your Way,
or virtues in another to extol.
Tell me what is most real to you today.

Your cleverness, your wit come out to play
or cleansing tears, for life will take its toll.
Put what completes your life out on display.

Please, kindly rid your writings of cliche
for simple recitation leaves me cold.
Tell me what is most real to you today.

I'm eager to hear what you have to say,
so whisper in italics, shout in bold;
put what completes your world out on display.

And never let your muse become dismayed
by words from uninspired online trolls.
Tell me what is most real to you today;
put what completes your world out on display.

You pick a
place and
hide, thinking
the world
seeks you.
The inside
cannot hide
from the outside.
The outside
cannot seek the
inside...the game
is wide open.

Everybody goes away
Everybody goes away
You might go on home
But you're gonna find
Everyone goes away some day

The parents of parents, they went away
Parents, they go away, far to soon
Children, too, they go away

Everybody goes away one day

When you're caught in the middle
It might seem like forever
Always thought I'd be immortal
Now I know my foot is on time's throttle

It might be cruel, it might be unkind
It might be a blessing in disguise
It might even drive you
straight out of your mind
It's going to change your life forever

Just like all those people in any 1950's movie

Everybody goes away
Goes away some day

Maybe that's tomorrow
Today is already becoming yesterday
The only thing for certain
I've already paid my taxes

Everybody goes their way
Everybody goes away some day
Everybody goes away one day.

From life, we learn many a valuable truth
That makes our existence one of worth

So growing old is no curse
As experience aids us steer life’s course

While life itself is a riddle
Remember, Death is an inexorable puzzle

Hatred burns life like fire
And wickedness turns it into mire

On Earth, forgiveness bonds hearts
But revenge, sure, breaks all bonds

Even a guilty falls prostrate
Before those willing to commiserate

Know, a true friend has no deceit
And a truly learned has no conceit

If jealousy is an acid which erodes
Generosity is a fuel that reloads

If inactivity is akin to death
Creativity is vital as breath

If perseverance conquers mountains
Laziness dries up fountains

While pride leads a man to his fall
Humility takes him closer to his goal

While Honesty leads him to salvation
Deceit drives him to damnation

Patience is an inexhaustible well
And *******, a sure road to hell

Know that those who long for the crown
Should also be torn by the thorn

While love of God takes us to eternity
Love of man leads us to fraternity

Ye Friends, with such priceless tips learned in bits
Light up your life in glowing glitz

Bury your past with all its woes
As each morn of hope brightly zooms!
My friends,  on reading  this poem, please don't see me as a sanctimonious proprietor! These are thoughts that have sprung from my heart. There is nothing new about them.... thoughts that have become cliche. But life has taught me these valuable lessons... I have learnt that love and forgiveness can conquer more than hate and  strife can destroy !  With age,  I am learning more and more. If these thoughts can douse the heat in someone...... well I am happy !

I have been taught
by those much wiser
and more experienced
that if I am disturbed,
I have in some way
caused the disturbance.
Whether by ignorance
or inaction,
intent or mistake.
I am responsible
for the actions
I take; no one
can "make me"
do or feel anything.

Practice does not make perfect;
practice makes permanent.
Be ****** careful, then,
what you practice.
A little consideration of one's own words and actions and consideration of others goes a long way.
