I have forgotten how to breathe.

For something so natural,
I’m finding it so hard.

I catch myself talking
through the process.
Much alike coaching
a child to walk.

Each breath is a step
- slow, calculated and clumsy.
And with each successful step
comes the exhilaration
and the confidence.

The next following steps
executed in haste causes
the body to lurch forward.

Losing balance.
Losing composure.

Unready feet caught unawares...
Haphazard footfalls.

I have fallen.
I have forgotten how to breathe.
I’m out of sync...
And I’m at a loss...
I am found
within the longest periods
of silence.
I am found
within the stillness
of a lonely night.

I am found
within the gathering darkness
of the clouds in the heavens.
I am found
beneath the shadow
of the moon's gleaming light.

I am found
within the crevices
of your exhausted mind.
I am found
buried in the shallow waters
along the shore.

I am found
in nature's inviting,
warm, tender embrace.
I am found
within the striking beauty
of every constellation--that you adore;
it is there I will dwell
forevermore.

In the sheets of drizzle below the autumn cloud
eyes beaming with the glow of love
wave at the receding figure
to the farthest visibility.

The man leashed to the cubicle with the screen
would think of those faces
when the day is at its broadest invitation
and light like the luminous ether
fills every dark pocket of the land
listening to the rhyme of the clock
from his abyss of ratios and rates
while the vagabond clouds come together
and break apart in the game of revealing blue
painting new faces and waving hands
on the landscape of the gate
up to the farthest turn
in the sheets of drizzle
beneath the autumn clouds.

.
Tunnels of crimson, splits the vision
as passion cruises through misty time,
the journey of the mage, passing through
the portals of seconds, the doors of millennia.

To encounter the turbulence, feel the butterflies
that threaten ill and ***** up minutes.
Chronology moves in pan-dimensions,
tempered to conformity, trapped in a clock.

The guardian of day and night, corrupted.
At journeys end, a travellers rest
parades upstanding to purvey its solace,
beckoning the beacon to sally forth.

Light space, occupied with vaccuum stars.
A macrocosm of possibilities, caves of wonder,
sends the horizon to eclipse blue moons.

In contrast, green symbols of pure abandon
triumph in ancient games of catching mist.
And the bed of Truth, a complete Lie fact.

She inspires and destroys,
She conquered, before the Viceroys.
Her power & beauty, in awe we see,
Mercurial, blossoming immortality.

Insidious fingers creep over the fence,
Leaving thriving forests, ever so dense.
Weaving for Earth, an elegant cloak,
Yesterday, to the truth I awoke.

She favors none & is never antique,
A surreal presence, ever so unique.
Leaves shrivel & flowers wither,
But time, her splendor does not tether.

The die has been cast, the battle lines drawn,
Nature gainst her destroyer, as she awaits the morn,
Look not so forlorn,

For tis from chaos nature brings,
Peace and order to all things.

For an entire lifetime
I thought I knew
How to spell "Love"*

I escaped the lion's den.
So, I am done with hand wringing,
Dragging my palm down my nape.
Forefinger and thumb squeezing the bridge,
Encircling my chin, to the point.

The time has come to discard my hair-shirt,
To loosen the cilice;
Stop the self-flagellation,
And smear balm on my mortified back.

I shall repose, indulge in a repast.
And prepare for the proclivities of the flesh,
To revel in the concupiscence of humanity.
Cast off chastity, poverty and obedience.

We are not saints or martyrs.
The cause is not worth the pain.
I am forgiven.
I forgive.
You could too.
