betterdays
you once were magnificent,
standing strong and tall,
looking out over,
your world,
with quiet serenity.

i see this now,
in the lines of grey,
that sit upon your visage,
worn to a soft velvet skin,
by the years of
going out and coming...

i see the marks your children left,
when they were taken.
i see the patches
of hurt from when you
were forsaken and
given to others,
for purposes,
not natural to you.

and in your heart....
i see the willingness
to try to begin anew,
to be reshaped, resolved
into something of use...

i see the years of
casual abuse,
of scrapes and distress
your heart being lost
in the multitude
of words spoken,
around you,
but never to you.

                              driftwood....

i see much, in you,
in your fine grain,
the salt of many trips,
in the rough edges,
sand from many seas
and in the knotted places,
the homes of those vagabonds,
you did freight for free....

and there worn away almost
by wave and time...
the face of your former keeper
still smiling....
frozen in place.....
forever lost...
but remembering
you were once magnificent

South-by-Southwest
We live in our corners
in our moments of existance
in our persistence of everyday word

But what would I give
for at this moment
to be dancing all alone with you

To hold you to my chest
as we sway listening
to the charms of the music

Under shooting stars
we make dearest our wishes
Oh ! how silly we are

And for a moment
to bend down to kiss
warm wet lips you have

How can your cheek
be so soft to my touch
I must claim this find as my own

Come dance in my arms
and kiss with your charms
as we simply float away

You whispered her name then she rose from the lake
you named her desire when you saw what she'd take
an inferno of fire consuming black holes
atoms/particles/were tossed, and thrown --
she formed every thought she'd ever known
expanding inside a tiny black hole
she exploded rainbows /forming galaxy's in streams
and she expanded the universe just like a dream
when you were lonesome /you called out her name
you wanted, and wanted -- but she never came
forgetting desire is never tame/she's like fire
she only wants one thing
to burn brighter/and brighter/higher and higher
she responds to light from the heavens above
her name is desire
she wants, and wants -- she seeks love.

One... two... three... four...
turn
You can see the spot on her floor,
Where her blue-green carpet is worn
Wishing she could walk out the door
Forget how bad her heart has been torn

One, two, three, four
turn
She has music blaring
Supposed to keep her from losing her mind
Supposed to keep her from caring
If only her tormentor weren't so kind

One two three four*
turn
He's still unaware of his slight
She's pacing, reciting Poe in her head
He's unaware of her pain every night
She's wishing her heart was dead

Onetwothreefour
turn
Her fingers twine through her hair
Berating herself for thinking of him
She hears a few strands tear
But paces on, ignoring them
My typical day I spend at least an hour or two (sometimes more) pacing and listening to music. Lately it's been more.

stirred into awakefulness
gently aroused to function
you ply me with tea
and **** my indifference
with all manner of wonder-
simple free gifts of a new day...

Welcomed by
A flower garden
of nature's bounty beauty
of multiple variety
I had a feast for eyes at site
Paused at every flower
Posed for every click
Poised to every flick
Some are beautiful
Some are fragrant
Some are nectareous
To my surprise, I found
none of them with
all in one to pick up,
Except you,
The exceptional flower
With impressive power
Gazing at flowers
As if for me
Conspicuously
From a lovely angle

MonsterInsideMe
I've learned to hide my depression
so no one will know
learning to hide my agression
I can't let it show
swallow my pride
all to protect
who I am inside
I've got it down to a science
never told a soul
until my heart showed defiance
I fell for you
I let my guard down
but you weren't true
you've hurt me
I gave you everything
but it wasn't meant to be
and as I sit here all alone
I realize the truth really does hurt
now my cover has been blown

A gentleman is not brutal,
but he will prove all vendettas futile.
He is not immune to bullet, fist or blade
but any insult raised against him
will be met with a blockade.
He is stoic, but still smiles,
cracking his face open without reserve
for a friend, to calm, to a foe, to unnerve.
A gentleman dresses his best,
whether it Vans and sweater, or tie and vest.
No-one is beneath his attention
he gifts compliments quite often,
but when a man puts a hand on him,
that man goes home in a coffin.

No matter his orientation,
he respects every inclination,
He holds the door
the same way he strikes true,
every time.
He knows his weapon well,
but in blood, he doesn't buy nor sell.
He knows the time to fight
but of violence, he makes no light.
He respects every man,
every woman,
every child...
But,
if his family is ever hurt
and this one renders apologies inert
then they shall receive only
a box and a white shirt.

Can I live in your embrace
Safe within your loving arms

Can I live in your embrace
Beguiled by your charms

Can I live in your embrace
Left to smolder unafraid

Can I live in your embrace
Where true passion never fades

Can I live in your embrace
To find the joy in things unkind

Can I live in your embrace
And you can live in mine

I'm actually happy today....
Something I can't always say.
It feels like a regular day
But,
Life is too hard too anticipate.
