I cast my eyes towards the sun,
beyond the darkened fence, the fielded midnight thoughts,
watching, through clouded images, knowing eventually
I will witness the birth of a new day

I reach with my smile in a curved line
seeking a destiny still unknown but written
in words of future phrases,
which will come to pass…on multi-colored wings of affection

I send my heart on waves of scented mist,
collected from the corners of my world,
flowing free from silent words and favored gestures
of desire’s endless intentions

I hand my love to nature, freely, willingly…
so that it may be delivered amidst
blooming jasmine and truer promises…to you,
before another dawn’s light finds your beauty and you awake

I cast my eyes towards the sun…yet I seek not its light,
nor its warmth…for all I seek is you

Fragile wings of stained glass rainbows
Endless your uncharted flight
Still I face the window staring
Praying you return this night
~
Longing in this darkest hour
Emptiness my heart does breathe
Forever more I shall be waiting
Eternally I shall believe

Your heart hit the brakes,
we stopped…
my heart broke

Frozen in layers of lemon drop frosting
Running for love on the snow covered lawn
Interest in all that this morning does offer
Entering each as if only a song

Dancing to dreams on the edge of tomorrow
Asking a question I hope will be true
Pausing a moment to glance your direction
Writing this poem while thinking of you
If I could bring myself to you
on broken wings through dusky skies
we'd press our backs to twisted rails
to sit and shoot the breeze a while

If I could bring you here to me
across the raging moon-bright sea
we'd walk down melancholy streets
and share our lovelorn broken dreams.

We'd sing in star lit shadows
and **** our broken hearts!
our laughter ringing through the night
and rattling the dark

We'd be silent as the sun rose
because this one thing we'd know
we may be broken sometimes
but we are more often whole.

I was so convinced
that you were the one
that I almost gave up on everyone else.

I'm only seventeen
but it seemed possible
because love can be recognised
by the young and the old heart.

Nevertheless, I was very wrong.

I'm only seventeen
and you were one of my reckless mistakes,
a delusional craving
that will hopefully fade.
please go away
my head hurts

Here
is
a
poem
in
one
worded
fashion.
In
a
straight
line
as
it
heads
down
below.
You
may
ask
why
and
I’ll
say
it’s
my
passion.
Written
right
here
so
this
fact
you
will
know.
The
length
may
seem
long
but
it’s
short,
please
believe
me.
Add
up
the
words
and
the
sum
you
will
find.
Nothing
much
more
than
a
short
written
poem.
Posted
this
way
and
I
hope
you
don’t
mind.
A lovely melodious flowing could be heard
Throughout the radiant air
From the window near where the river empties
Into the grass growing
Tall and fair

I deemed it was coming and going
Soft and slow in my memory
As I could not feel my heart wildly beating
Within the degree
This flow
Was reaching

Surely it would have taken me onto a path which cleared my heart
As it flowed into my ears and fondest desires
Yet I sat there in the shadowy dark
Enflamed by incandescent
Tears of fire

A living being sitting by the fireside of my own making
Did not see the peaceful eyes of the flow
Bringing to me solitude in a melodious overflowing
That I should have grasped
And held inside
My soul

~

“If I leave here tomorrow”

Lonely days of glass dividers and tissue boxes
Pecking away like a chisel on some old piece of granite
Feeling the pain of each sorrowed sentence
Carving words on obsolete paper in faded scratch marks

“Would you still remember me?”

My reflection finds me a stranger of warped shapes
Names bounce off of walls and scatter to the stained floor
I have read those pieces of promised hope and lover’s sins
Said my peace in volumes straight from my heart

“For I must be traveling on now”

It seems the shadows have faded into a still breeze
Hectic lives infuse dancing dreams with left over cottage cheese
Faces are seen, hiding in plain site, hoping not to be found
Bins overflow with the un-perused and wishful thinking

“Cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see”

Beyond this horizon is calling in a faint echo
Winding paths offering more than what I have, whispering on slow winds
Forgotten, in due time, as another sun sets
And a mourning dove coos my sad farewell

“I’m as free as a bird ~

now”
Written with the help of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" lyrics.
Time marches on
fleet of foot
regardless of hope
in spite of love
it's beat, unwavering
drowns out our pleas.
He runs through her fingers like sand
the warmth of him
his breath on her neck
a touch of his hand
then nothing
as time steals him away
leaving her lonely still.
Do not poke the sleeping beast
that hides behind another's mask
his words not written to inspire
but to wound and belittle.
He crows for attention,
this loathesome creature,
with boundless ego
and tongue firmly
rotting in pustuled cheek
he will not be the thief of confidence
he will not be the silencer of hope
for he is the keeper of bitter misery
the captain of a sinking ship
not one will touch his heart
as it sits within it's cavern of disdain.
