let’s move in together

let’s move into a cottage,

i’ll wake up early and make you heart shaped waffles and we can have goats and chickens.

i’ll plant you strawberries and make jams for you

i’ll have a cupboard of tea in case you don’t feel well

i’ll plant flowers so i can give them to you every morning when you wake up
Heavy chested I breathe
as the moon whitewashes the night.

The season is changing
and in the wind is the vapor of hyacinth
in the thick of which
the glowworms drink the nectar of night.

They have no philosophy and I have many
like while they dance just for the sake of life
my mind enveloped in obscurity
has shackled my feet and clipped my wings.

I wonder if the glowworms have a mind
that knows when they dance
they have an audience.

Maybe the stars know the same way
when they twinkle.
Up the steep steps
as you reach the age old fort,
you breathless behold
the green valley down below
and that magnificent mound of rock
by the name Robinson Hill.

In the sweet silence of birds' chirping,
the winds reek of rifles and gun smoke
and you hear not the rustling leaves
but bullets echoing all over the valley
one more down, another down
as they held the fort till fell breathless
passing into tombs and memorials
you read to pause for a breath
up above the green valley
where the grasses grew over the blood.
Duar War (1865) declared by the British on the Bhutanese.
Inadequately armed and outnumbered, the Bhutanese fought gallantly at the Buxa Fort, Duars before falling to the might of a superior army.
A visit to the Buxa Fort in April, 2016 inspired this write.

As this virus answers a roll call
It's presence now climbs over a wall
For good years his voice a dormat drawl
Now it wants to kiss a death and sprawl
Across the globe man's watches stall
As the virus strenghten it's gall
If when the ticking hand could maul
And stop it in it's track and all
If the scientist can stand tall
Next to the virus and see it fall
As it stands a dooming chapter ball
It's bounce taking it's toll on us all
I hope the virus a muted doll
And robust headlines soon entrall

Prayers.

Notes-(3/13/20)
2nd line- think epicenter of this outbreak
13th line-think how the virus latches onto cells, wanting to make babies. I wish it sterile, finding a muted doll.

Before I met her
I used to dress myself.
Donned in paisley,
I had class and style.
She cut out my Calvin Klein heart
and now I look like
my grandpa.
Oversized golf shirts,
and slacks to match.

I used to dress myself.
It sounds absurd
but it's true.
I was dangerous, I lived
on the edge.
She said,
"You're not a gangster,
so quit dressing like one.
Here, put this on.
It's really cute."

I used to dress myself.
And now I'm
safe and sound in
cardigans and corduroy.
