When it rains,
I don't go out to feel it trickling down my skin,
to feel myself being washed away,
my thoughts sinking with the weight.
Instead I grab a raincoat
draping myself around it.
I fear
my clothes clamped against my skin,
your eyes would crawl underneath and
make me feel
less skin,
more bone

You stole my time, self-esteem,
and views.

You took something so naive and blind, you molded it with your photoshopped
coverage, blending models
into walking stick figures,
telling girls you can’t be
beautiful if you can’t fit the design.

To Beauty, I am ashamed of you,
you lied, you abused my time,
you wasted your designs
on a woman who is too real
to fit your stitched together designs.

I am 5’9″ 225 pounds beautiful,
with my wide hips I can sink
battle ships, I walk proudly.
For all should walk proud.

You are the perfect design,
you are beautiful on the outside
and in. We all shine.

Brittle hair and cracked skin,

begging for the cry of clouds like a dozen wilted signs of love discarded on a front porch in a pile of disgrace left to die in the sun.

Hard features purposely pushed together with the thought that opposition means perfection,

like misguided missiles with coordinates of ultimate destruction.

Words of warmth, comforting, until they get too close and burn a home in a heart,

the slime of a savior covers your features,

crawling invisible over your essence like a thousand hungry creatures.

A crooked smile blocks the odor of death and decay, which you only tend to notice with every word that I say.

Crossed eyes and a “too long finger” which I used to blot out my heart,

a special part of my brain threw it in from the start.

Embrace each difference, a small arms width away from the great divide,

unavailable, a slipping secret, unreachable like yours arm touching my side.

Pale design, an ego inflated to the size of a thimble,

cold shoulder, each step a stumble as I cross the line, ever so simple.

Encourage each episode, every ending eats everyone’s eulogy.

A static design, pleased as punch at what is yet less than divine,

Finish each chapter stronger, I am yours, and now you are mine.

I waited for the sun to set,
In order to see the champagne clouds.
Through the of tint and pastel sky,
I looked up and saw your smile.

You were in heaven
And I was here on earth.
Was it my intoxicated thoughts
Or was it actually you?

holy grail might have been
chalice, a woman's cup
challenge, for to save
her love

knight templars might have been
reporters with long zoom lenses
watching guinnie & lance
cavort about on a stone

none who were not there can touch
beauty, knowledge, fate,
legend leaves tracks for more to follow
let lovers follow us

it was my moment in the sun
my shining nothing conflicting
inside my head were the pure
chords of ethereal air

breathing in rhyme & circular riffs
as if entirely upon harps
& flutes

sun, it's never too late
moon, give it up

united we shall be

universe is bigger than this love
but galaxy?

may in fact collapse
entire, & strand us all
with empty hands

aching hearts
mouths who never said it
to you but then again

you
always
knew

The truth is i am afraid
Afraid of being too close

My heart beat accelerates when you're around
Hands begin to tremble as i entwine my fingers

Evading your eyes,
Shivers surge down my spine as
I recall how you whispered "mine" against my neck

They say you should surround yourself
with positive people.
But everyone changes
A season to bloom,
A season of storm,
A season of harvest
A season to wither.
So are we suppose to leave
if they are not in their season of positivity?
Well I say patience is the reason
to love in all seasons.
So will you leave or stay when a friend goes through the season of change
