Ashly Kocher
Turning tables
Spinning chairs
No worries
No cares
Round and round
You go again
The faster you go
The faster you spin
Out of control
Spiraling down the rabbit hole
Falling slowly
Into a darker depression
Going deeper into the black depths of the rabbit hole
Lost in Wonderland
No escaping, hitting rock bottom
Since the minute that you began....

grumpy thumb
Wander my thoughts to a mountain stream
so crisp and pure its whisperings
are prayers
and dappled flecks of light
glisten the ripples to glinting eyes
blinking bright.
gazing down
my wandering
floats me upon a travelling
leaf fleeing its tree
to experience life at sea
and I with my bond of fantasy
steer the vessel through tributaries union and confluence widening
into river's run
traversing bends and rapid rush
then lull before the gaping swell
of oceans welcoming gulp.
and swallowed
my wandering cast me free
while the leaf continues out to sea
on wave and surf's gallop
to return to watery core
where mermaids dream of dry land's shore.
There the Queen of them all
found a treasure so pure
a small leaf forever in a her crown she wore.

Have returned

Nested

Calling discordant
A squabbling couple-

Nested in apartments
No eggs amongst
The elderly

No chick to raise and
Teach to scavenge.

The chimney-*** gulls-
Paired
Young
Alive
Nested
And flying-

As terrestrials may not-

From death.

The sweet fragrance you shared to me changed my weeping heart
Shadows of bitter yesterdays are now erased at last
Scented tints of the awesome spring put smiles into my eyes
Previous battles I've cried and lost, you brought a hopeful sunrise

Rheumy eyed-
World unfresh

But still small
Daisies brave the
Cutter's edge.

Long slow
Pendulous swing

From boredom to
Anxiety
As Winter Springs.

This year's alchemy-
Leaden skies
Turn Gold

In your darkest days
I became your light
But in mine you
Never were
I wonder.
Sometimes its tiring to be just the light. You never got to see my darkness, because you were not there.

Covenant park central
parallel, east-side west
waiting on the print defender
(and Lichaten queen)
he appears randomly, and distorted
with a broken smile
shuffling down the Smithright trail
with his Mac Tack and cinnamon shades
(sun bags and thrift ware stacked neck high
on a rusted rat-trap)

An open end panel van crashes the curb
as the long-board dodges the tail
and kicks up some flare
the plumb tree and Sunbeam double wide
hold steady in the driver's fish eye
as the warehouse carny and "tire-less" 510
shine brilliantly...
in the dull, dripping scene

We both performed the same Deeds
Committed the same Crime
Thus our Sins were also same

I was caught Red-Handed
You managed to Escape
My Bad-Luck Your Good-Luck

Only I was Prosecuted
I was made Accused
At last, I was convicted

Now I am facing the Punishment
You are free to enjoy the Life
Also free to commit a new Crime

I know my act was illegal
I know your act was also illegal
You also know, your act was illegal

Who is the Sinner?

Eons ago, when the stars
where just learning
their place in the sky
A whisper was sent out
crossing over the centuries
I heard it through your eyes
telling me to open mine
and allow those blue swirls
to color paintings in my life
