Kaleidoscope Prhyme
A poem written by my heart so every single word you hear is a pulse.
I’m a literary writer trapped inside the mind of a spoken-word poet.
I stood in the rain patiently awaiting the arrival of freedom but then I eventually realised that it was the rain.
People keep talking about a rainbow nation but I only saw a glimpse of that when I looked out my windowpane.
I wrote plenty peaceful poems picturing politicians perpetuating poverty.
Frankly speaking, I could write more but that’s an anthology for another day.
Even if things don’t always go our way, I just hope that everything will be okay.
Freedom is just an illusion but my conclusion is subjective due to my frame of reference.
Not even Mandela money could buy me freedom in a dollar-based economy.
In a country saturated with poverty, politicians are still protecting their pockets.
I wish I knew how to liberate an imprisoned man who cannot mentally be free.
The prison of his mind is depriving him of all the greatness that he could be.

There are millions of questions I can’t find the courage to ask.
But even if I did, I probably wouldn’t get all the answers.
I probably wouldn’t be able to fully accept the truth.
There are millions of questions I can’t seem to find the answers to.
I wrote plenty peaceful poems picturing politicians perpetuating poverty.
I stood in the rain patiently awaiting the arrival of freedom but then I eventually realised that it was the rain.
View the kaleidoscope of life through the perspective of a spoken-word poet.
Freedom is like finding forever and I hope that everyone in here knows it.
Let’s all meet in the pages of a story where the ink holds us together.
A poem written by my heart so every single word you hear is a pulse.
Chose to write this poem for Freedom Day celebrated on 27 April. It celebrates freedom and commemorates the first post-apartheid elections that were held on that day in 1994.
I see life in grey,
Where black does not stand alone without white,
Where the melanin of my skin does not factor as to how society sees me,
Where Mother’s language that rolls from my tongue is never labeled.

The only struggle I should face is between the relationships
I try to mount
...between pen and paper
…between my head and my heart.
Where common sense should trump any and every stereotype,
Where the only thing foreign is the knowledge I am yet to acquire,
Or the journeys I am yet to trudge upon.

Borne of the soil that bears some of the greatest fruits,
I am one of Her many blessings,
An Afrikan princess that is still rising to her majestic throne,
That seeks to reign over a land united
Behind the death of the rainbow;
The rebirth of decolonialism.
And casts all children of the corn of these chains,
Golden bronze bonds
That continue to enslave the people of true liberty, and prosperity.
The liberty that ascertains that no man shall ever be consumed
By their hunger for superiority.

my heart cries out, telling me it's too late.
I ignore her.
heartbreaks, I can no longer take.

she continues to broadcast my mistakes,
my eyes burn with regret
she know how to make me upset.

punishment is my mind
suffocating me for all the wasted time.
soon, I too am crying.

there after, I am dying
7 minutes of life before me
before I begin flying.

*brighter the sun begins to shine
love and procrastination
was my only crime.
Build an idea,
Organise your mess,
Recognise your strengths,
Elevate your soul searching,
Denature negative thoughts.
Only allow great ideas,
Mimic the best person you can be.

Poetria
Here I am a thousand miles away
Writing you letters I burn every day
Dreaming about the words you don't say
Waiting it out until moments too late.
Burning matches just to swallow up the flame.
We strive for it,
Hoping to live in it,
Despite all the failures encountered,
Winning must be the final result,
Discouraging as it is to fail despite working hard,
Its great to stay motivated and focused,
And give it your best shot.
Without failure,
Victory wouldn't taste sweet.

"Wakey, wakey, sleepy head" the woman's voice was cheerful and playful as she threw a glass of cold water in the unconscious man's face.  "Wha, wha, what happened?  Did I fall asleep?" asked the man.  As the man opened his eyes he tried to move but couldn't.
Looking around he realized he was in an upright position eagle spread.  Each wrist and ankle was shackled, locked, and chained.  "I'm not into locks and chains. I'm the one paying for ***.  You have to do what I want" said the man with slurred speech.
"Poor, poor, little man I'm not a *******.  I just pose as one on the internet and in the streets.  That's how I get pigs like you" said the woman with an evil grin.  "I know you didn't think a woman as beautiful as my wife would be interested in someone like you" said a tall figure as he emerged out of the darkness behind the shackled man.  With fear in his eyes the shackled man asked who they were.
"My name is Linda Locklear and this is my husband Rusty Locklear" said Linda.  "Enough with the small talk.  Linda go get the work tools" said Rusty.  "As you command daddy" said Linda.
Walking past their victim into the darkness Linda grabbed the cold steel push cart and brought it to Rusty.  "Will you just look at all these toys" said Rusty with his eyes lit up like a child at Christmas.  "What do we have here? " said Linda.
Reaching her arm out over the items on the push cart in the motion of a snake Linda became sexually aroused.   "We have a hammer, scalpel, acid, nail gun, and an ice pick" said Linda with her voice filled with excitement.   ******* himself their victim began to cry.
"Linda this is your victim so you have to inflict the first wound" said Rusty.  Responding to Rusty's words Linda picked up the nail gun.  "Linda you don't have to do this" pleaded the man.  "I have kids that I provide for.  My name is Timothy Yates.  I have a wife said" Timothy.
Linda silenced Timothy with a swift kick to the testicles.  "Look Rusty it actually think we care about its pathetic little life" said Linda.  Placing the muzzle of the nail gun on Timothy's foot Linda pulled the trigger.  Firing a hard sharp nail into Timothy's foot blood squirted into the air.

A horror story
There's no destination in life,
No one ever arrives.
Being human,ambitions change,
When we achieve,
We want more;something better..
The only day we arrive is when we die,
For then,we don't need to dream,or work or achieve,
So actually there's no arrival for the living,
Destiny is no arrival,
Destiny is the place you need to be in at some point,
And within destiny, there's no arrival still because new dreams are born.
Even after retiring, people still keep things going, arriving would be just letting things be and just living, doing nothing in hope of achieving..but we're human,we never arrive.

Dressed in light and wearing a crown of Olive leaves, Love stands before Loyalty her husband to be and a host of wedding guests.  Looking into each other's eyes the two exchange vows.
Loyalty - My dream of making you my wife has become reality.  I promise to hold you in my arms and keep you safe for all eternity.  I promise to cherish you and treat you like royalty.
Love - I've been waiting for this moment ever since my heart took it's first beat.  Like doves flying on the winds of peace I promise to uphold this marriage above the clouds of serenity.
Surrounded by all the virtues Loyalty and Love kiss.
