‘How do you do’

Stopped me the child’s voice.

Four words of endless span
Heart’s amulet
To me and you
Forever new.

I’m just fine
Finer now
By your sweet greet.

Oh child
Promise me now
You would never cease
Asking passersby
How do you do.

When you are a big man
Greet folks on the street
Thirsty passersby like me.

Promise me
Like that it’ll always be
Like you now tell me
In your lips now and then
Ringing true
How do you do.

Promise me child
They will never seem enough said
Never seem enough spent
Like you greet me today
Tomorrow, ever
From you
As now as then
Will ring forever true
My heart’s amulet
The most delightful words from you

How do you do.

A ****** crossed
the crescent Moon,
they hung in a twilight Sky.

The Wind whispers:

Is this a blessing
or is it a curse.

I **** my head
and heave a sigh.

Tumbling headlong
into the abyss
this just got worse.

Can we go the distance
or are we going down with the Ship.

After all, who owns the Moon,
who can lay claim to the stars.

Time will tell.

Won't you dare
Step in the storm?
Won't you dare
Cup the hand of fate in yours?

Lead on the way
Amidst corridors of blazing sands
Won't you let the friction carve?
Your hands, your sight and heart?

Brushing against your face,
Peeling off your gentle fate
My friend; won't you dare?
And step in the roaring lair?

For ashes and dust
Is this greyish world
So burn the flame
And light in fumes

Hear the tapping of your feet
And feel your sole melt away
On strange wooden lands
Sprinkled with blazing sand

Catch the pebbles
Struck at you
Let it burden till you grieve,
Or build the castle of your dream

Set ablaze, set ablaze
Set yourself ablaze;
Let yourself combust and scarred
And become the blazing star

What if I never left Montreal?
Would this be in French
What if I married the first man who asked?
Would I have children or grandchildren
What if I went to university when I originally planned?
Would I have a different career
What if I had said no?
Would I have remained pure
What if I had been born first?
Would I be loved more
What if I had been born a man?
Would I be more successful
What if I'd never been born?

Despicability is the foundation to their life
For them it is intrinsic
Genetically encoded
Simplistic
Poetically eroded
Reprehensible at best

     Unscrupulously callous
     Secrets and facts, they conveniently
     ingest
Distorted byproducts, they release to the
     masses
To aid their campaign; a forked tongue
     fest

Pathetic and unapologetic
A beast armed to the teeth
Imported bypasses to increase the flow of police
A weakness and an act,
They so vehemently attest

Harvesting greens off the branches of
     the people
Pockets engorged with wads and folds
Crushing blue collars at the lower levels
As they sit atop their pyramids of gold

Today they sip champagne
To celebrate their reign
Tonight we'll skip being humane
To feed them excruciating pain

You've incited this coup with ill-thought
     deterrents
Now herald the arrival of the scourge
     Down with lopsided governments
Tonight... All we would topple! Tonight we purge!

ryn
This truly was an experience. I really enjoyed sending and receiving verses from the one and only amazing ryn. I really got into character with this one, but long story short: **** corruption!  The pen is mightier than the sword

She hides her smile
behind black lipstick.
Her voice is low
and in between.
She smells of loneliness
and cigarettes.
She sings for me
when she is high.

She gets me higher
than I can go.
She takes me low
and in between.
Her heart's on fire
when she sings.
Her voice is smokey,
full of pain.

She sings of loneliness
and broken dreams.
Her dance is low
and in between.
She gets me high
and lets me down.
She kisses me
with black lipstick.

Only you can translate
where you are
on your voyage through
this varied farce
called “life”.

No one else can dictate
to you…
or should even dare…
how to phrase
your feelings,
your thoughts,
your personal moments.

Who is anyone to
cause another to feel
inept or inferior
for wording their
experiences as they will?

We are all both
audience and poet,
consumed by the
powerful spell of words
and meaning
we are bonded
in ink.

It takes gumption
and courage
to give voice to
your vision of
the world.

It often requires
resilience and nerve
to open your heart
and peel back the
layers of skin,
and let others take
a long look at the
inner workings of YOU.

Be brave,
take courage,
let your soul speak
in its very own
language.

People will read
your words and
listen to the sweet
whispers
and thunderous shouts
that flow from pens
and keys
to release the
inner demons and angels
and the lyrical
vines that bloom and live
in our individual
landscapes,

fluidly coursing from
our own rabbit holes
with fortitude and grace
and our neverlands,
where we need never
grow up,

to share with those
that need to see
and hear and feel
and wonder.

Underneath a ebony sky,
Sitting at the foot of a tree.
Magnetic depths of the night,
Draws me in.
Eyes glued to a moonless sky.
In this mournful sadness,
A darkness seeps,
Through my cracked heart.
In my veins,
flows a tar of chaos.
Painful tears,
tracing through,
the contours of my face,
The scenario so far!
Bleeding in utter silence!
Reaching out I knew
That maybe I'd be bitten
Temptation drew me

Out my window
the same world
different day, day after day

I want to grab my bolt bag
tie a red bandana
around my sweet mutt's neck
hop a train, act sane
for a change

Georgia's down the tracks a spell
and Birmingham's half-way to hell
New Orleans in September
sounds pretty good

Woof and me
living free
no cares to carry on our backs
singing clickety-clack, clickety-clack.

Take her sidereal night,
its darkness
and the shimmer in it.

Draw a co-secant,
a beam,
in your full-light trace.

The script is embedded,
it runs on its own:
see?

A pulse,
myriads of whirling suns,
a blaze within her,

a firmament
for a cotillion,
a constellations' jigsaw.

Her night breathes,
in symbiotic pace
with its aural lover

and, within its velvet,
darkness is an indigo,
drunk on orgastic throb.
