a special light
is in your eyes
illuminates my soul
and makes me feel
it only shines for me

I am aware
that others, too,
feel deeply touched
by your bright radiance

I neither claim
possession nor monopoly
simply enjoy
looking into your eyes

knowing that things
keep changing over time
    oft in split seconds
nothings stays the same

only our words
    that name the world
remain unchanged,
once spoken

    a special light
    is in your eyes

he was a desperate and lonely plea in the dark, she a nervous laugh and waning spark
together they scared one another off but contrast bade them compliments
and one without the other leaves a bad taste in my mouth
incomplete
He was nothing less
Than everything,

Her entire universe,
Not leaving out anything.

He was in
Her every thought,

In everything good
That she ever sought.

He was her every breath,

Connected to her heart and soul,
He would live-on to remain this way,
Beyond her death.

Destined
To be side-by-side,

Hand-in-hand,
Together, they signed-up
To take-on life's
Scary rollercoaster ride.

Growing,
Living,
Knowing,

An endless love,
They both shared,
To eachother,
They never stopped showing.

They climbed mountains,
They enjoyed the views,

They walked through fires,
Together,
They shared
Both good and bad news.

They rode through storms,
They went on adventures,

They gazed at sunsets and sunrises,
Together,
They partook
Many daring ventures.

They were born to be together,
To be as one, connected,

An honest love without measure;
A rare, precious love
They both dearly protected.

a lot more knowing how it turns out decades later
maybe been a bit bolder instead of hoping
been Brasher wore tighter pants sent out longing stares with
all the confidence  Elvis would'a
I would have instead of walking by the Jackson sister's house
stayed and threw pebbles into their bedroom windows
or  boldly walked up knocked on their door and faced their dad
his six five tallness and said I think I love your daughters
and stood toe to toe and face to belt buckle with
confidence knowing you have to try to shine
have to light a fire to burn
have to live to die
instead of just fading away
the decades it took me to wisen up
I thought I was trying
it was so timid
I'd a bent the rules more
had I just known

I say
as you jab
and stab
my flesh
and blood away

If god is real
then he must be
too freaking high
smoking clouds
sitting up in
a billowy white sky
baked out of
his omniscient mind.

I knew he was dying
I thought maybe a few weeks left
So still and so quiet
This man whose laugh made us all laugh
The man who always had ideas
Where to go, what to do for a laugh
Always a laugh
Sharer of adventures
Partner in crime
For thirty-six crazy years
Dying before my eyes and
Taking much of my life with him

He'd had a massive stroke a year earlier
They said he'd die then
But he defied them and recovered a lot
Proper conversations and learning to walk
Then they discovered that he had cancer
And here we were five weeks later
"How long are you gonna be in here?" I asked
He turned his head and looked hard at me
"I die next week," he said
As though he had an appointment

He got three days, not a week
I cried seeing him dying
But I was relieved for him when he did
Now my old friend is gone
And it's a duller world without him

                                       By Phil Roberts
My old friend died a few years ago now and the sadness have been changed into happy memories. Still miss ya Pete.
