I still see your face
When I’m awake
Stare into space
And at night when I dream
It’s like I can’t get away from you
No doubt you stole me heart
But I would’ve gladly given it to you
I don’t know which I fear more
Loving or losing you
Who knew
I could love and fear someone at the same time

Am I special enough to always be on your mind
Or was I just a good dream
That you couldn’t remember once you were awake
Have you finally forgotten me
Are does thoughts of me run through your mind

Some would have
You to believe that
     Love is blind

Love isn’t blind
       At all
Love sees every
        Color
Love does not require
Sameness to love

Love sees every shade
And every relishes
        In each one

Love seeks to understand
And give freedom of
    Expression to every
      Brilliant color

     Love has perfect
             Vision
That sees and celebrate
          Every color

           Like love
         I see color
       And it is indeed
             Beautiful

      Love in color
              It’ll
     Change your life

Each and every time i close my eyes i think of you
Yes the you...the very you
The you who haunts me in my sleep
Visits me in my dreams
Teases my senses
Messes with my head
Plays with my hair
Whispers erotica in my ears
Leaves me twisting and turning in my sleep
And then leaves without a trace...
I'm yet to discover who you are
What u look like?
What u smell like?
What u taste like?
What u feel like?
And most of all who are u really?
Do u actually exist?
Or are u just a figment of my imagination ?
One of those crazy hallucinations
Someone too good to be true
Or are you some sort of futuristic vision?
Or some kind of premonition?
Well..whoever or whatever you are...
....u're certainly hellbent on depriving me of sleep!!!

Her favorite color is purple
But I don’t know how to write a poem about that
 May 2018
Sincerely Em
I feel like ...

All the poetry in the world has been shattered
All the poets have gone mute
All the stanzas have been dismantled
All the rhyming words are in dispute

I’m an alphabet of one letter
Choking on faded words
I’m suffocating on alliterations
Black bruises and broken back bones

It’s almost like my pulse is dropping syllables
17 … 7 … 5 … 3 …
Empty pages of lost haikus
As flat lines race death to flee

This broken heart weeps of hurt -
Of false promises, of wounded memories
My broken heart weeps of hurt
As my mourning tears fall into elegies
Sincerely, Em

I stare into space
Hoping to conjure up answers
But the confusion in my heart
Clouds my mind
Doors closed
Locked from the inside
Blinds down
I sit in a vacant room
Occupied by darkness
The silence sting my ears
Memories crash in an out like waves
I try to hold on to them tight
But they can’t be saved
Battery running low
The only light that pollutes the air
Is the 10% warning on my phone
Paragraphs typed
I often wished weren’t sent
Feeling sorry for myself left me spent
One friend left in my corner
She begs me not to push her away
But the confusion has left me with nothing to say
As soon as you're born there’s no time at all
By the age of 15 your a kid no more
You’ll clean up their **** you’ll scrub the floor
You’ll hate your work  always begging NO MORE
You’ll ***** so much never having no fun
You’ll hate your ******* boss and The person you’ve become
You’ll cuss his mother you’ll call her a *****
But your still  broke and forever poor
Every day the same as before
A working class hero is something to be
Just open your ears and listen to me
Your back will hurt and they’ll test your ***
If you don’t go to college you’ll flip burgers for free
They’ll bend you over forget vaseline

Your  boss is a **** - so much **** you’ll  have to  take
A working class hero is something to be
Yes
A working class hero is something to be
They like em young they like them free
Paid in peanuts or even magic beans
Your just a number you’ll always be
**** you’re living the American dream
A working class hero is something to be
You work till your dead with bruises on your knees
They’ll beat you down
Until 63
You’ll never retire
Retirements not free
You’ll spend your life working
There’s never any time for “me”
A working class hero is something to be
strive to be the best you can be
Just like Bill Gates  you’ve gotta aspire and dream  always remember never settle for mediocrity
                          BECAUSE!!!!
A working class hero is something to be
life is what you make it take it from me
Set to the song working class hero by the Beatles. I came up with this one night filled with boredom on a Sunday, dreading going back to work Monday morning to be just another working class hero.

Cecil Miller
The ageless plight of persistant awakening,
Thoughts protruding into my every day,
The restless inner noise of ruminations,
Rustling windy bow-quaking wispers,  remain.

The restling of memory spurs a conversation with the past
Concerning things I have done,
As I recourse for resolution within the recollection.
I'm just playing around with a bit of alliteration this morning. I figure the proverbial inner monologue is just as good a topic as any.

I heard my barber say today

You think your situation is bad until you hear someone else’s story.
That’s when you realize your problems ain’t ****.

Why did that make me feel better?

Miss Me
How does one survive the turmoil inside
Doubts of oneself that replay on repeat
Crisis created out of truths put aside
Protecting the truth that caused the defeat

Then to learn no norm will ever be built
Never ever will it even be known
Then comes the shame and of course all the guilt
Damaged further and cannot be resewn

Then swept away with another high tide
Raising the same questions left from the past

Then look above for the reason to hide
Answers not given only added to the last
Then fears brought back upon shores of unreason
Living sadness still in another New season
