WendyStarry Eyes
Open the doors inside your brain
See the possibilities of your mind
There's nothing to lose, only gain
You'll be surprised at what you'll find

Pull the old dusted ****
Let the hinges crack and creak
Feel the pain, your head throb
Wisdom comes to those who seek

Power, knowledge, and mystery
The power and the truth of living
The knowledge only to be free
The spirit of living is giving

Death comes to those who wait
So don't waste a minute
Death is for those who fear their fate
Live life and everything with it!!

Ink
Thick
Black
Ink
Oozes out
Seeping from
A warm, dank cavern.

It sticks
Blots
Stains
Spitting
And spurting
Out of control.

It gushes
Floods
From a cruel scowl
Onto pure
White
Cotton sleeves.

The flow will not
Stop
And the white is soon
Stained black by
Malicious
Words.

Feeling for a
Hand on
My back

Then one
More to form an
Embrace

Would feel
Like losing your
Phone

Panic
Then the relief

Sometimes to gauge a situation and get a clear perspective you need to turn away from proximity

We are nudging out nature, in our selfish interest
Almost trying to outdo nature and create our space
A space devoid of any beauty, mechanical churning
Deafening noise, drowning us in the decibels
Haze from the industries, making our vision blurry
Oblivious to the perils, of where we are heading
Are we leaving or building a safe abode for our progeny?
We can live in denial and continue to march ahead
Trampling many natural dreams in the name of civilization
Or measure success in different parameters
As success can’t be at the cost of defeating the purpose of life

The eccentricities of nature
Leaving us at its mercy
Sun and rain are taking turns
To play with us, caught unaware
Mood swings of nature
Blatantly leaving us perplexed
Sometimes raging with fury
Or its calming nature acts as a balm
Another moment tornadoes
Ripping across the hearts of habitats
Leaving us bare and unsheltered
Earthquakes depriving the ground beneath
Leaving us with open chasms of darkness
Erupting volcanoes, burning away
Glowing rivers of lava, taking its own course
Not showing any mercy, drowning dreams
Icy cold glaciers melting away the past
To drown away the future of our existence
And the vast seas encroaching shorelines
So many vignettes of nature
We can only be mere spectators
To the eccentricities of nature

Somewhere between the lines
Of the 21st century
And some other time
Religion became an inheritance

And God became bound
In churches, mosques and temples
A somehow secret affiliation
In the workplace He was not allowed

Embarrassment infiltrated friendship circles
And God was rarely mentioned
People celebrated Christmas
But Christ was not believed in

We sided with experiments
And political histories
Derived morals from sci-fi fantasies
Our role models became Miley

But what of the Mary's
Magdalene, Bethany and mother of Jesus
We would rather believe in faeries
And be unfaithful to the one who made us

Faith is you
And religion is an identity
It's everything you stand for
And all that you believe in

God is at high school He's at college
Bring the belief in your heart upon these lips
Where prayers can be established
Beyond a parish

So keep company with those
Who come to congregation
Beyond the house of God
And incorporate bible lessons in conversations

For surely Angels surround
And embrace you in a divine
Blinding light
That will guide you away from anything but right
