It seems life is always changing
Taking the things we know
Like a mighty mountains river
As over the rocks it flows

We take so oft for granted
The ones we love and cherish
Then only realize what we possessed
When they move away or perish

Then we are left without them
In their place is left a void
Our eyes now filled with tears
And sadness replaces joy

Life is ever changing
Show those you love you care
For someday the day may come
When they are no longer there

If I should ever lose my sight
No longer seeing through these eyes
I still will gaze upon the prize
For my eyes have seen the truth

If words no longer fill my mouth
If what I had to say did not come out
Never would there be a doubt
I would continually sing praise to you

If both my legs they were cut off
I still would stand for the cause
Continuing in my faithful walk
Where each day in you I stand anew

If for a moment or two I lose heart
It still will know how Great Thou Art
To the very end from the very start
Sweet Jesus I will always be in love with you

I carry a concealed weapon
I have since I was young
Sharp as a knife, used a lot in life
My weapon of choice it is the tongue

It has the power to cut you down
Bring you to your knees
But also strong enough to lift you up
Both it does with ease

Yes it can lift you up
Or it can bring you down
For the latter I use it far to much
Stabbing at the slightest sound

The problem with this weapon is
The lack of self control
It comes out slicing and dicing
As if backed against the wall

I've even at times turned it on myself
And carved like I was a piece of art
Left not a mark upon my flesh
But wounded deep the heart

I've talked of using it as a knife
It also doubles as a gun
Firing from long distances
My weapon of choice, beware the tongue
James 3: 8-9
8. No one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison.
9. We use it to give thanks to our Lord and Father and also to curse other people, who are created in the likeness of God.

Time cannot be measured
For we know not its length
Time gives to us our weakness
As it takes from us our strength

Treasured memories never fade
They are not dimmed by the span of time
Every detail is forever etched
Upon the thoughts of the recalling mind

Precious memories held so dear
That never fade nor fail
They are a pathway to my past
An old loved and familiar trail

That leads me back to my yesterday's
When my heart yearns to return once more
Back to the place where the memory was born
A cherished place I knew before

Within my memories live those I love
In images as clear as a crystal stone
I keep them hidden inside my heart
These treasured memories that are my own.

God came one day to Abraham
Saying Abe my son I have this plan
See all these stars up in the sky
To your kin folk I will give life

So Abraham being a righteous man
Had two sons all in Gods plan
But being old he and his wife couldn't wait
So he laid with a female slave

Miracles from above
Ishmael and Isaac grew up
But a test came for his love
God had asked for his trust

Hagar was left behind
As father and son travelled the dessert
Where he had been called to testify
How he could pioneer and turn to right
Bring civilisation to God's light

Now we all know the test was passed
Or we wouldn't be here today
Speaking of the saviours who brought us to God's way

From Abraham came his sons
The messengers forever honoured
In Christianity, Judaism and Islam
Jacob, Moses, Elijah and Jonah

Zechariyah, John, Soloman and Noah
From them came Jesus and Mohammed
So we say peace be upon them all
And peace be upon this world

United we stand
For our ancestors were one
From the same blood we began
For the same Lord we bow...

Lord, is it true
You keep the tears I have shed
The ones that fall so heavy
Like the precious blood you bled

Do you keep a count
Of each lonely sad lament
A record written down
Of each feeble plea I've sent

Lord, is it true
You know each mornful wail
Every thought of sadness
Every heart wrenching tale

Lord, I know it is true
Written in the 56:8 of Paslm
Not one tear has ever escaped
The healing of your balm.

I think the sky above
Is the bottom of heavens floor
And if this thought is true
Where is heavens door?

Is heavens door unseen?
By the eyes of mortal men
And if this is true
How do we enter in?

God who lives in heaven
Made for man a way
That we could enter through
And reside with him someday

Heavens door exist
Though not in common form
It is Christ the son of God
Who was of a ****** born

Upon a cross Christ died
But rose to life again
And he became the door
Through which to heaven we may enter in

Forgiveness he offers from sin
To all not just a few
If we will accept, believe and repent
He becomes the door we enter through

No opening is there anywhere
No wooden door nor frame
Just a simple faith and belief
In Jesus precious name.

(And Reasons Why I Have It Pretty Good)*

2. Starving people in Africa who have nothing that even resembles a stable govermnent to keep them safe and fed and alive.

3. Couples going through divorce or recovering from divorce, and their poor children. =\

4. Drug addicts living on the streets without a family or a hope.

5. Women and children caught up in human trafficking and slavery who have no one to save them.

6. Would-be-mothers who cannot have children. This is heartbreaking for many women.

7. Children abused by their own parents who then have to go through foster care and withstand the constant reminder that they do not have parents that love and care for them.

8. People who have no hope and who believe a bottle of pills is the only way to take away their pain. Life is never a curse, and it is not one's responsibility to take when it becomes unbearable.

9. Fathers who can't find a job in our economy and who feel like a failure because they can't support their family's needs.

10. People who sit in a church and believe they are being good enough to go to heaven, when they've never heard the true gospel spoken to them before.

1. And most importantly...the great number of individuals who have not heard and those who have rejected the Good News of Jesus Christ. It's nothing that I have done that makes me any different than them, but only the grace of God that I took hold of. I won't stand by while my fellow man lives on less than I do every day. I am blessed with food, a better government than many in this world, and parents who love each other and the Lord. I have a life of hope that sustains me better than drugs, a life worth living, and the financial support that only God could supply. And I have a church that preaches the gospel each Sunday and reminds me of how much I need Him.

Lord, never let me forget Your many blessings. Self-pity, worry, and depression keep me from my true potential as Your daughter and servant. Show me how to share my blessings with others, so that I can spread Your Word to everyone I meet.
Amen.

If you would be still...
Close your eyes and wait for Me...
Then you would see truth.

Have you ever taken notice
Of the direction that nature reaches
In this there must be a lesson
That Gods creation teaches

Look at a mountains peak
It reaches so very high
Up through the ghostly clouds
As if to touch the sky

Look at the pine trees tall
Swaying within the wind
Seeking to grasp a star
As a way to lift and ascend

A flower within a tiny seed
Grows up from the darkened soil
Showing forth great majesty
While reaching up with strain and toil

The songbirds sing their songs of praise
While flying up too the highest limb
Seeking up just as the tree
Hopeing to catch a glimpse of Him?

It seems that Gods creation
Within a world that is so abrupt
Is teaching life's only true meaning
And is always reaching UP.

I wrote this poem last week while my wife and I were on vacation in Colorado . As I looked upon the mountains and the forrest this is the thought that came to me. Shouldent we all be looking , reaching , seeking Up.
Hope you like it
