I met that man in a coastal town
over his face beards flowed wild
his eyes they knew only to look down
his years didn’t count he was a child!

He smelled of bile feces and phlegm
his skin was a thick layer of tar
from his **** hung loose his shame
they said he was a castaway who came from far!

Sun and rain found him a barren rock
a sculpture that birds could err to perch
standing unmindful of the passing flock
as if he was lost in a deep search!

He just stood there holding his ground
eyes cast down on the paved road
none had heard him utter a sound
muttered neath breath even one word!

To the townsfolk he was a statue on the square
that losing his way hovered on the brink
but I had a feel within him somewhere
was a man looking for a long lost link!

You see at the end of
The road Dorothy
Got to go home.

"Just tap your shoes,
And say 'There's no
Place like home.'"

Tap one.
There's no place like home.

Tap two.
There's no place like home.

Tap three.
There's no place like home.

And i'm still
*here.

So move my brain

Strike me there, across the plain

Where buffalo reign, heavily

Strong, steadfast, incredibly,
                                               Not vain.

Three wives or at least two
But I'm one of the few
The few that believes in monogamy
So I'm sticking to my marriage with poetry

Yes, I admit to a couple of affairs with words
But that's a crime my wife can easily wave go
Like Sarah having her maid wooed
Though desecrating to her matrimonial room.

Make it rain all day
Rain poems that makes heart stay sane
Pain and bitterness interwoven into poetry
Yes sad but the joy therein comes after the read.

Let there be a deluge
So much without a place for refuge
Let the poetic flood wash away pollutants of this awesome world
Let the poetic purification begin now.

I pledge to transformational poetry
I write this insane world back into sanity
Recreating my own space
Letting my pen and mind decide the pace.

Peace out of chaos
Addicted criminal gone pious
I call that "Poetic magic"

Our youth
the pressures they face
children fighting
for acceptance

fitting in with their peers
they strive for
it's a shame
so many have died for

where have we gone wrong
did we sing the wrong song
the lessons we taught
seem to have gone for naught

are we actually failures as parents

is it really our fault
have we pushed them away
what can we do
to help them today

turn this tide
so they've no need to hide
the feelings they harbor
so deep down inside

the hurt that drives them
beyond our hearts reach
unto the point
where their spirit's been breached

how can we help them
bring them back home
help them to feel
they're not so totally alone

get them to realize
that they're loved beyond measure
and here in our hearts
they are the greatest .of all treasure

I ask you
are there answers to this
if not we must find them
yes, that is truly my wish

Sparks ignite and shimmer in the night sky,
Dangerous but entirely mesmerizing,
If I stepped closer, the passion would consume me.

How pure and honest all things human
Which drift so heavenly when untouched;
They coat our eyes and dull our words
They should, forever remain unclutched
By human hands which hurt and ****,
By ropes of sadness and of glee
And studious eyes of all things mortal,
Who should learn to bear and let it be.
But what of life if not things human,
What of anything without it all,
Why shall I remain insensate
Let senseless sorrow inside me grow?
Endure the heavens and the hells
Grant your darling make you a fool,
Become accustomed to the hurt
For misery is a party, and love a funeral.

I read somewhere that there is a natural
process of renewing all the cells within
your body. That it takes something around
the time of seven years to substantially
be a new person. So I guess

                                             I’m waiting.

In seven years, I’ll see if my heart wants to
start up again without the scent of your
fabric expelling from each beat or to suddenly
enjoy the unremembered feeling of your skin warmed
close against mine or to experience the exhale of
I love you finally leaving my lungs for the very last time.

I feel like I am losing you.

Perhaps you've taken another form of yourself,
Or you have always been this way...

And if you have, I painfully regret not noticing it before.
Unless I did see this, but I ignored the truths in your past's pattern.

Either way, I feel like I am losing you.
And I cannot do anything but
Watch.

Girls with round faces
And dresses cut short
cant love you the way
You've been begging
they lust and they run
With smoke in her lungs
A cigarette loose in her teeth
They drink coffee at midnight
And ***** at lunch
when they finally *******
They're numb
Their tattoos are ships
But their hearts are their anchors
Live by the ocean
the waves are their guide
They get high to pretend
They're not drunk half the time
In fairytale castles
They built out of string
They find solace in being alone
Their bodies are naked
Against white stained sheets
Lost to a haze of old smoke

Do you remember when you were five and the worst thing that could happen was scraping your knee?

At what point did you realize there are worse things out there?

At what point did you realize mommy wasn't perfect and daddy wasn't invincible?

At what point did you realize you're not a princess and you never will be ?

At what point
did you grow up?
